The two Editors who were staunch supporters of Mahinda Rajapaksa had not reported to work today and have been uncontactable since yesterday. In his editorial on Friday (9) Rajpal had written that the Opposition victory is ‘a figment of the imagination of various interested parties’. Rajpal’s Twitter account has also been inactive since January 8.

Similar situations have emerged in other state media including the Sri Lanka Broadcasting Corporation and the ITN where most of the top ranking officials have left their positions.

Chairman of SLBC Hudson Samarasinghe and Deputy General Manager of ITN Sudharman Radaliyagoda, who has two oustansing warrants in his name have also reportedly fled the country.

I am sorry that Dinesh Weerawansa’s wife does not know her husbands not so illustrious career path. The guy was a very mediocre sports reporter. Like many other recently made careers he happened to report on our pathetic school rugger where the little Rajapakse boys like to think and act like they are All Blacks material ( well so much for their stupidity ! `)This gut Weerawansa started giving the Rajapakse brats ( Thomians)huge publicity while the father was prime Minister. When MR became president Weerawansa informed the boys that he is suffering from extreme patriotism, Naturally MR appointed him Editor of the Sunday Observer. Weerawansa can only write about school cricked and rugger. He has never written a serious article in his life ! He has never written an editorial !While being editor he interviewed the then general Sarath Fonseka . When that interview came in the paper General Fonseka complained that it was full of errors and a lot of imaginary stuff. The very next day MR sacked Weerawansa. Then MR was fully with General Fonseka who was doing all the fighting. After a few years of just loafing around Weerawansa approached the Rajapakse boys again and begged of them for a job. So MR , who himself has no idea about an editors job , or even a way of assessing Weerawansas competence in English ,reappointed him.Like an utterly grateful beggar weerawansa then proceeded to make the old established Sunday Observer in to a rag, a Rajapakse piece of toilet paper. He made the the word journalism into a smelly insult. He prostituted the whole profession. That is the truth. So Mrs Weerawansa don’t be blind to the real facts of your husbands dubious career.

Where did these amazing think tanks of our time go? They maybe in the USA with Basil and Chamal helping the Obama administration on how to do politics. Sri Lanka’s loss is USA’s gain. Haha
