Rajapaksas Made Plans To Kill Me And Imprison My Children: President

President Maithripala Sirisena says the former regime had formulated detailed plans to torture him and his family when Mahinda Rajapaksa emerged victorious at the Presidential elections.

Maithripala Polonnaruwa 01 25 2015Addressing a rally held in Polonnaruwa yesterday afternoon, the President had said,” Today, Mahinda Rajapaksa is saying he doesn’t even have a house to live in. I would like to ask him, if I was defeated, would you have given me a house?”

He had said that when he decided to contest as the common Opposition candidate, he entered the battle ready to sacrifice his life.
“If I was defeated not just me, we would all have been laid underground by now. During the Rajapaksa regime, all plans were made to arrest my children and inflict all suffering possible on me and my family once the elections were over,” the President said furthermore.

He also stated that if he had not accepted the Chairman position of the SLFP, it would have been a major obstacle for the successful implementation of the 100-day program.

“Some might ask me, why not have resorted to a general election instead of accepting the Chairmanship? If I had made that decision the 100-day program would have been over,” he said.

This is the reason why I always believed that MR as the president of the country still has to show his true nature. Like a Bollywood actor he just acted his role – but underground activities with the main approval of him were adjusted by his men (Gotabaya, Basil, Namal and other culprits). Whoever whatever being uttered this man is a cheater by his blood. Whatever decisions he made wereinstrubmental of defeating Ltters, it was not only that but synergies of varied factors to that time, caused to eleminate the LTTERs. In the aftermath, Rajapakshe media units succeeded to paint the picture as they intended even the wrong ones making as cult charactors, while attacking real heros as traitors. All these have reverberated on him and his family today, since people are not stupid as we criticised them. Jana balaya-peoples power is the most powerful weapon is proved by majority of the citizens in the country- sending a message across the country- democracy should be restored.

Having back stabbed Rajapakse to his “victory”, why is this so-called leader still crying wolf?

This is just bullshit to win sympathy of the SLFPers who are not happy about his being a slave to the UNP.

Why would Rajapakse want to kill him? He is not that important. Just a 100 day wonder.

Enjoy the trappings of presidency for 100 days and piss off with your clan,My 3. We have had enough of your hypocrisy already.

The question is why has Rajapakshe behind all the killings sofar – not forgetting the murder of Lasantha Wickramatunge. Latter is being investigated with the proofs direct mediation of Rajapakshe siblings in the latter case. So we just need to wait few more weeks to see it right. You buggers will have to shut up your cesspits let alone thereafter, because nothing can stand on our way if we have mapped it by proving all the acceptable proofs. This is a certainty as the sunrise will be there… or on full moon day the moon is round.

You the guys like or not would have to fall your balls down by the time lanken justice will convict the culprits in the days to come. Until then, your kind of bla bla can be in the air. But ascending to the end of 100 day programme, much more will have to be accepted. I am so glad, I can drink my nektar today since impossible is made possible by the current administration. May all the forces be with MY3 AND current regime to achieve their list of promises that have now beeing made a reality one behind the other. Jaya niyathai is what I feel to this moment, we are so happy to have taken the direction healthy way to this day.

Even seven days after Wele Sudha mentioned a name of a MP for drug dealing, why wasn’t he arrested? waiting for Yahapalakayan to arrest him. Is the delay due to his brother’s donation of money to UNP seniors? Come on we are waiting.

Wele Suda was brought down by this govt to get him
spill the beans.Catching his network is the main
idea behind.Wele Suda might disclose a mixture of
real and sometimes innocent names. So police has a
duty to have the details properly checked before
any arrest.People must be patient enough to give
the govt some reasonable time and that too within
hundred days! The biggest relief is,change is
started,a minimum time limit is set and is now only
two weeks old.More news will flow in on time.

we are all in agreement with you. I wish our people to maintain the patience. This we also disccused in the satana on last saturday. Rev. Sobitha was also inthe view that people attack him today- being unable to see things moving like radiations – that is though impratical not only to srilanka but also most democratic countries in the europe too. Peoples attitudes should take its way towards law and order can take long. If they would interpret things according to them when making judgement on YAHA PALANAYA- GOOD GOVERNANCE, they also need to see it with patience. There are bunch of laws that fail the respective provisions them to getpassed acccordingly. All these could have been given a priority by MR regime, but he did not. So, today, even if he was defeated, it is not easy to punish the due using prevailing laws that quickly. Latter should be comprehesible to all – that support the current govt.

            Amara@,

we all and sundry shout at the rulers not taking due actions or them being bit passive to do so. But as you are aware – if you watched the last programme of SATANA on Sirasa, may get it – there are laws available but the respective provisions for each of them are not avaialble have held us all over the years. Law makers could have to fight on all these reforms long back. But they all as Wasidewa utters today – had no rights to do so thought sat in the parliament during the last 5 years. All mighty MR and very close allies had the right to raise any issues. Those sat in the parliment were made like NAKUTA WANGATHTHU BALLO WAGE…. dogs that hide their tails behind the legs… those who behaved so have come forward today to reveal all thease.
So with making new reforms and getting them passed, only they can go against any culprits.
Let see how it works inthe days to come…. I have no doubt, this time almst everyone willb e caught by their balls. We will have to see them hung by their balls inthe near future. Karma will work on them soon.. is certanity.

Do you know the name of that MP ?I believe he should be Duminda Silva.
If this will be truth, he will have to get rotten in the jail in the future. I hate this guy for one single reason – with the mediation of Maharja the man abused the respect that people kept on entire medical system of the country. It was a fake medical source data that were telecasted by his medical representative stressing that it should be a medical woonder if Duminda would become normal after facing that fatal accident. With anything and everything is hidden of the latest situation of Former F1 world champion after his brutal accident occured over 1.5 years ago, I would never bleieve anything expressed regarding the medical history of Duminda. All these should be paid closer attention and investigated in order people to know the truth about that. People were misinformed – the victimized families were reattacked by all means using thuggery and their political powers.

      President Maithripala Sirisena,

Thank you very much for stepping up and coming forward to save the country at this hour of danger. All the citizens of Sri Lanka are indebted to you. Please do try the criminals, and if found guilty, punish them according to the current law.

      ACT II

“President Maithripala Sirisena says the former regime had formulated detailed plans to torture him and his family when Mahinda Rajapaksa emerged victorious at the Presidential elections”

      Act I was Sarath Fonseka.

      There is no surprise here.

      This is what Dictators do.

Well, what about the White Vans?

For the Medamilana MaRa Dynasty, people, cattle, sheep, goats, chickens etc.,. are there for their use at their will.

They do not believe that Sri Lanka is the Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka.

They believe it is the Medamulana Rajapaksa Family Dictatorship and Kingdom, to be used at the will.

We should be grateful to that astrologer who had convinced Rajapakse that he couldn’t lose. Otherwise Maithripala’s fate would have been sealed the moment he declared his candidacy. He couldn’t be court martialled nor imprisoned as he was painfully honest, so only death awaited him. Thanks to that astrologer, one day we would realise the enormity of the catastrophe that was averted.

Plotting to arrest and torture people is a serious criminal offence. This charge concerns the leading challenger & his family for Presidency of Sri Lanka at that time. Making things far more grave.

If true it was an attempt to stab the heart of democracy in this country.

Question is why the new President is not moving legal procedures against such serious crimes? Rather than opting for mere rhetoric at a political rally.

    Cheers!

“Where were you the past four years mate?”

He was here in this forum regularly commenting, to be fair to him he in the last few months and years was able to see through the charade of MR clan.

He used to be an anti diaspora, anti LTTE, anti Tamil, pro security forces, pro Gota, glorified Sinhala/Buddhist. He almost bought a second hand non existent car from Gota when Gopi was killed in the Vanni area.

Now he is beginning to see the other side of Sinhala/Buddhism, how anti minority bashing, wars, human rights violations since 5th April 1971 have degenerated the Sinhala speaking community into serfs of a huge Kleptocracy.

Given enough time, like his Tamil brethren Sampandan he too will rehabilitate himself, from his Sinhala/Buddhist rhetoric.

He is not a bad person at all. I don’t mind sharing a peace pipe with him.

        Keep hope alive.

You Mean, Ben Hurting was a Sinhala Buddhist Angilimala who was finally reformed by Buddha?

          http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Angulimala

Daku Angulimala (Pāli: “finger necklace/garland”; Sinhala: අංගුලිමාල, Burmese: အင်္ဂုလိမာလ; Chinese: 央掘魔羅) is an important early figure in Buddhism, particularly within the Theravada suttas. A ruthless killer who is redeemed by a sincere conversion to Buddhism, he is seen as an example of the redemptive power of the Buddha’s teaching and the universal human potential for spiritual progress, regardless of one’s background.

Srisena didn’t actually say torture. He said “inflict all suffering possible” which could just mean harassment, trumped up charges, making others treat Srisena as pariah and trying to push Srisena into poverty.

Also his statement of being “laid underground” shouldn’t necessarily be construed as implying MR would kill him since Srisena is also saying his supporters would also be “laid underground”. I believe he is speaking metaphorically because otherwise Srisena would need to provide proof for his accusation.

how many of high criminal kind of crimes are on the list of Mr Medamulana ?

If all these would have been connected with prima facie evidence – he would spend his rest of life in the prison.

I personally dont like any previous president ending up with jail sessions, but to this day, how many complaints against each of the family members heaping in every ministry – is a saddened thing.

Even Egyptian Mubarak, Zimbabwian Mugabe, Indonesian Suhartho the like would not have made that kind of wrong doings the way MR has involved. All these are really a curse on him today. 57lacks of people who voted for him and his reelection were not informed about anything about his FAKE nature that was painted by Rajapakshe biased media units.

    • 2
      2

This is my very question as well.

Why talk about it. If MS has evidence arrest the bastards. Do not make allegations if you can’t substantiate it.

MS is slowly but surely going down hill. His brother given a cushy job. Venerating a tree. Former corrupt CJ mollycoddled. Wild allegations about attempted coup and no one arrested. Wild allegations of corrupt practices by previous politicos still no charges. Some of Wele Sudha’s revelations kept secret.

      MARA is quietly smiling.

I believe the opposition s criticisms were deliberately rejected over the period of time has now reverberated on them. To the outside world, it was seen as opposition was not powerful during ALONE the last 5 years. However all these were painted by their media units so that nothing would stand on the way of the rulers. Else, I really dont know why the raises of opposition to have neglected in that manner. Be it was the heavy loads of heroine found or the other high crimes were deliberately neglected while the man being in the office behaved as if he was completely intoxicated also by sending his goons too that kind of power greediness.
Those who watched Sirasa political discussions were somewhat clear that there is something basically wrong in the administration of MR even if other media institutions sang the housanas in compliance with MR guidelines as if all those are pvt media. From Lake house to srilanken TV cooperation functioned as if they are their pvt assets. All these boomerang by this day, not just few hundreds of complaints but them becoming few thousands…. proof materials become heaped be it urban or rural offices are the same. Those who rejected all these before now get closer to bribary commission bringing all the evidences. The coming colour is not becoming favourable for the former leader, his family, his relatves and the all. However, Chamal Rajapakshe is said to be not smeared with any kind of abuses sofar…. how ever his son has been entwined with the other culprits.

I do sympathise with you but truth must win.

Mahinda Rajapaksa is not fool to have organised a coup with the whole world watching thanks to “terrorist diaspora”. That would have played right in to the hands of those who want to take all the wealth the man has accumulated with his wider family.

This accusation of coup is typical Ranil Wickramasinghe backstabbing.
Mahinda must be shocked how an early morning visit by Ranil organised by John Kerry who was in New Delhi turned out to be such a media spin.

Next in line for this backstabbing is MY3.

He wanted to win by hook or crook !

He had to win – you can see what’s happening now and he knew it !

His plan would have worked if not for the AG, IGP, EC who surrounded himself with party workers and the media.

Good work by Mangala and Ranil to involve the international community through the diplomatic missions and also publicly warning all concerned.

This is natural justice – it is all about intention !

Harichandra. You were not born yesterday. Greed and power can lead to kill who ever blocks that path whether it’s a friend or a foe. Besides when he was mustering his power that night he did not realise the world was watching him too in fact I’m sure they did watch him and warned him for his actions and may have been told to pack his bags from the TT. It was a wonder how he conceded defeat easily . Million dollar question was why he conceded defeat long before the election was over. Any clue? I don’t have but this is my analysis.

I believe you when you say you and your family will be no more had Rajapaksa the Maraya won the election. The vast majority of the country, sadly those who even voted for Rajapaksa, voted knowing very well this would have been the result. You can say that atleast 40 percent of the Buddhist population have no qualms about murdering inoocent men women and childred. So much for the Buddhist culture of Sri Lanka.

Your Excellency, we accept you were ready to make the ultimate sacrifice. But for what purpose if Sri Lanka will have the same kind of government as under the Rajapaksa Oppression, but with a cabinet of Ministers who are same as those before? Look at the faces in your cabinet. Look at the face of your Secretary. Do you think your brother has the moral cleanliness to hold the Chairmanship of SLT? Has he not proved himself to be a thief and a marauding idiot who considers himself above the law? I hope you will will rectify this, shall we say, mistake?

Mr Maithripala, today, CT published a photograph of you worshipping a dying tree? Did Lord Buddha ask you to worship him, let along the humiliate yourself by worshipping a tree, or gold ornaments, or falling at the feet of dirty Jarapassa Buddhist priests, or polluting your ears with the words of a yellow robe who was preaching to the Maraya? What do you think, how we feel when our hero for whom we voted, is behaving like a moron, or just plain cheating the cretins who voted for Rajapaksa, in order to get their votes next time?

Mr Maithripala, no Office in the Universe is precious enough for you to sacrifice your dignity and self respect. Do not engage in deceit or foolishness.

There is a lot of work that needs to be done. You have an 82 day program to complete. You have to keep an eye on the many thieves you have appointed as Ministers. You have to strengthen the institutions of Government and make them independent – eg judiciary the public service and the police. How do you find the time to pay homage to all and sundry including the yellow robes and greenery. You Mr Maithripala you don’t need them: provided you resolve to rid your mind of aasaa and thanhaa, including the need for nepotism and cronyism, the natural goodness in you is sufficient to provide an efficient, effective, fair, equitable, and just stewardship of mother Lanka.

    Try this.

May be you will be the savior of Sri Lanka.

This is the best response out of the 58 appeared so far. What you have written is the whole truth. I feel the same way. Sad to read the latest story that he is going to stay as the president for the next 5 years not keeping his promise made to Sobhitha thera and the public that the presidency will be abolished. I guess he is more concerned about his own future rather than the people of Sri Lanka. Ranil and Sirisena are quite similar that way.

It is time we stop making statements like “so and so planned a coup” or “so and so wanted to arrest me after the elections” and report on what actually did happen like “so and so was attacked by so and so” or “so and so‘s house was searched after the election” and “so and so’s brother was appointed as the chairman of xyz corporation” etc.
Enough of theories, hypotheses and what-if-scenarios. They did their bit for the election outcome. Now we need evidence based investigative journalism and find the culprits and punish them. Not for thought crimes, but for the real ones.

Sri Lankans excel at spreading rumours with not a whiff of truth behind the. KP allegedly escaping from Sri Lanka was one of the first. Then came the fanciful Temple trees coup. It was also reported that Gotabhaya had also escaped in a military plane to the Maldives. None of them were true, but were being told with straight faces by the Colombo gossips. All these should be confined to the bin marked April Fool Jokes, even though we are not in April yet.

Also there was the one about Gotabhaya vising the Electinon Commisioner in an attempt to intimidate him, which was given short shrift by the Election Commissioner himself.

I’m glad you won the election and became President, please do not fall into the same trap that Mahinda Rajapkse fell. Refrain from having close relatives goons as your advisors, avoid making appointment that will bring you a charge of ‘political nepotism and back slapping’ Sadly some of the appointments are not in the best interest of Sri Lanka. As for Mahinda Rajapakse I know him from primary school days, he is not a person that would plan to murder the President of Sri Lanka, he had his faults by bucket load by listening to his ill qualified advisors and goons.

We have to thank God for having saved the country from a disaster. One could imagine if MR had won again how his family and all his cronies would have behaved and where our country would have been led.

Unfortunately because of their ugly history of being complicit in murders of journalists, deaths of minorities, even the poor Sinhalese people, who simply protested their dirty water, and were killed, this story is worth investigating and could be highly possible. If these criminals won this election, MS would have been arrested and thrown in jail, and members of the opposition would have been afraid for their lives. The journalists who criticized the Rajapaksas would also have had to flee the country. There would have been chaos, and the Rajapaksas would have been vindictive and “punished” those who dared to run against them.

MS would have been a huge stumbling block for the Rajapaksa’s schemes, and most probably they would have considered harming him

We all remember how the Rajapaksa’s treated the vanquished in 2010. Had the tables turned, I have no doubt Maithree would’ve been in custody by now charged with some trumped up change.

Our highly intellectual country had been saved from remaining a Pariah state in the eyes of the world. Thanks for the Modayas for conceding defeat on that fateful night. At least in the world stage hopefully the present Regime will turn the perception of the bad image created by the Modayas progressively for the last few years. God save Srilanka from the evil eyes.

Serious allegation……….. Now stop the talk and round up the Rajapakshes and dissolve the parliament.

Mr. Prez…. you are getting carried awar into unchartered teritory.
WHY SHOULD MR PROVIDE YOU WITH A HOUSE IF YOU LOST.
Have you provided houses to all other Presidential contestants who did not succeed ?????\
Mr. Prez., now this power thing is creeping into your head it seems.
ITS TIME YOU SPOKE SENSE. Fortunately, you have been addressing your villagers at polonnaruwa to impress them.

If you were ready to sacrifice your life, then you should not be talking about it now.

Further, why must MR have laid looser’s under ground?? CBk, the General, they are still around. If you lost, then why would he bother about you? It should then be Mangala, rajitha, CBK, Rathane Thero, Shobitha thero, Anura kumara who should have been bothered…
THESE PEOPLE MADE THE SACRIFICE. YOU JUST A POSITION ONLY & EARLY RETIREMENT.
BTW have you thanked Sampanthan & TNA & Digambaran?

    My3,
MR planned and killed many thousand Tamils – fathers, mothers, children,..

    We want Independent International Inquiry.

Excuse given Sri Lanka did not sign Rome statue. This should be fixed and Rajapkse should go to ICC.

Of course, MS made a huge sacrifice when he agreed to contest as the common opposition candidate. He would not be among the living today if he lost the election. Let him not make further mistakes like appointing his brother as the SLT Chairman. I suppose he will go into history as a bold statesman who saved the nation from the yoke of a ruthless dictatorship.

Dear Mr. President, you are a true Buddhist leader and very simple person.

You are well protected and well secured.

Even though Mahinda Rajapaksa planned to destroy your character and your life their plan became topsy turvydom.

You are always protected by good people in our country.

Your pure character protects you very well.

May the Blessings of the Noble Triple Gem be with you and your family always!

This allegation by the nation’s newly elected leader is astounding – but is plausible in view of the political clout of the dictatorship which prevailed before the election.
The tribe/clan of Rajapakses should not be allowed to dominate politics in sri lanka, any longer.

These are the words from the horse’s mouth. With such a threat behind
his brain , Mr.Sirisena came forward, taking a huge risk , to get the
country back to parliamentary system from dictatorship. The risk taken is more than what Mr. Nelson Mandela or Mr. Ghandi took in their political life.It is God who induced sense into people’s minds and got them vote for Mr. Sirisena as the victory is considered a miracle
despite attempts made to sabotage it by the authorities in many ways

It is frightening to hear how dangerous the former regime was and it
is in the hands of the President and the coalition to see that they do
not re emerge and see that the wrong does are put behind bars before
they re group. It is the minorities who should be more happier as N/E would have come under military rule and Tamil militia groups would have taken the law into their own hands and anarchy would have prevailed.

After every govt.change sensational claims are made but no politician has ever gone to jail.
I remember in 88 or 89′ a ex.finance min got his files and the cop down to Uk and they all lived happily ever after…nobody ever went to jail.

Thank god MS won otherwise Lanka would surely have seen killing fields 2 with Gota carrying out Mara instructions.

Mr President, Education Minister or Higher education Minister

Are you going to do some thing to this pathetic Institution call Sri Lanka Foundation. Visit here http://www.slf.lk/ and see the pathetic faces and their roles on Sri Lanka education. Look very especially the website of “about SLF” MR is president, Lalith Weeratiunga is Secretary – Really? The whole SLF supposes to change with new leadership that include the chairman in comparison with UGC and all universities. SLF is one of leading corrupted institutions in Sri Lanka which has lobbied and supported MARA, GORA, NARA, and BARA’s survivals and policies.

Sinhala people are being mislead and deceived by politicians since independence in order to get votes and get elected due to their greediness. In this process, the failed leaders used chauvinism and racism as a great tool to mislead uneducated Sinhalese and capture power. SWRD, JR, MR all played in this process but CBK, Ranil and others too failed to deliver the just solution to lead the nation and its people of all walks of life to prosperity.
Leaders who are accused of war crimes should not be in the government as it discredits the regime’s image and morality.
This is not only the failure of the Sinhala leaders but also a great failure of the Sinhala masses who have voted the racists leaders to power and defeated leaders including MR as well. Unless there is Sinhala uprising against Sinhala Buddhist Apartheid, racism and chauvinism, the future of Sri Lanka and the race relations are going to be bleak for ever.

Thank you for saying this – so that the fools in our country know what this MARAYA and Goat were up to; however, you have a long way to go, before this cancer is stopped from spreading; you should expose the Rajapakse’s for what they really are, which in my view are far worse than Mugabe in Rhodesia; at least Mugabe fought, leading the independence battle for years; whereas MARAYA was, and continues to be a thug, and nothing but a low-life form.

Hallucinations and fabrications seem to be a hallmark of ‘yahapalanaya’;;;; It is driven by unbridled hate and desire for vengeance (not to mention staying in power ;))

MR is the only president father who taught his three sons how to cheat and lie.Could a decent man with a pedigree would ever do that.Cheating at law exams,Naval exams etc,etc are very wrong.A man with self respect would never do that. This was a shame for the parents who gave birth to MR,GR AND BR.

The whole family are cheaters and liars. When the media wanted to know his opinion the dumb heir to the throne never gave proper answers. His English was not up to the standard and lied through his teeth. Audience can easily make out that he was lying. With all the money in the world they did not have proper education. They spoke just just just like the father and the uncle. Good example was the Steven Saker’s hard talk interview the uncle took part. Disgraceful.

Even if MS has not said it or even he is just bluffing one thing most of us are clear in our minds. Had MaRa won he would have come back with all the vengeance to hit at all those who opposed him. The country would be going on in even more accelerated disastrous path.
It is true the top rung of the common opposition took a calculated risk and won it for many who are letting out a sigh of relief.
Yet MaRa has left a smell of death still hanging in the air.
To many, we are gradually beginning to doubt why MS / RW have not acted upon the evidences; the most serious one of course is the JaRa Pakses wanted to hang on even if it means to stage a coup probably leading to a blood bath.
Are they afraid of the ghosts of the JaRa pakses or wanting to be the shades. We have seen it already MS has appointed his not deserving brother to an all important post even before the ink has dried. That is a slap on the faces of all who hoped for a change.

The President is not hiding behind parliamentary previleages to make this aquidition. MR has every right to sue MS in a court of law for Billions of Rupees if MS is telling a lie. Why is MR not doing it?

“Rajapaksas Made Plans To Kill Me And Imprison My Children: President”

isn’t that much better than having your wife pound your childrens heads for the great betrayal of eating hoppers with the king and next day saying you want to be the king?

Judging by the way Sarath Fonseka and the army people who supported him were treated after the 2010 election, I agree with President Sirisena’s statement.

I thank God for guiding President Rajapaksa & his astrologer to call an early election.
