Ranil Now Looking For Constitutional Loopholes To Increase Number Of Cabinet Positions – We Will Defeat It Too: Anura Kumara

JVP leader Anura Kumara Dissanayake said his party would defeat UNP Leader Ranil Wickremesinghe‘s attempts to find “loopholes” in the constitution in a bid to increase the number of Cabinet portfolios.

Dissanayake, addressing a JVP rally in Kirulapona which is currently underway, said Wickremesinghe is the latest one to seek “constitutional loopholes” to achieve political gains.

“He is now finding loopholes in the definition of a national government, as he wants to increase the number of Cabinet positions. He is now trying to prove that the largest political party in Parliament can join with any other party and form a national government. If not, he has to reduce the number of Cabinet positions to 30. We, as a party, will certainly defeat this attempt to exploit constitutional loopholes and increase the number of ministries ,” Dissanayake said.

“There were many people who looked for loopholes in the Constitution. President Maithripala Sirisena, former President Mahinda Rajapaksa, Attorney General Jayantha Jayasuriya and Bar Association President U.R. De Silva also looked for loopholes in the Constitution and fell flat on their faces. Wickremesinghe is the latest addition to the list,” the JVP Leader explained.

Wickremesinghe is expected to take oaths as the Prime Minister at the Presidential Secretariat tomorrow at 10.30 AM.His Cabinet of Ministers are scheduled to be sworn in on Monday.

    Oh boy; This is unbelievable;

JVP to lose in news making.

Why should RW want constitutional loopholes when there’re plenty of loopholes on UNP MPs head pots?

      Anura Kumara Dissanayake

You say your party would defeat UNP Leader Ranil Wickremesinghe‘s attempts to find “loopholes” in the constitution in a bid to increase the number of Cabinet portfolios.

Alright how do you propose to do it? Like Hopper Sirisena do you also have more tricks up your,………………. unless you want to join the crooks to muster a majority and buy few MPs. MR will be glad to return the favour by dividing your party into several faction which would not only make your party irrelevant but also you.

He is just screaming to the gallery and over playing his hand. Sri Lanka politics is divided into a few sectors and the diehard will listen to any crap whether it be AKD, MR, Ranil or TNA and say hooray. These guys fail to realize there is also a sizable sector of independent thinking voters and until you have their support to put you over the top you getting no-where in politics.

AKD has been playing a very dodgy game and has forgotten about Economic Rights and Justice of the people that Bondscam Ranil destroyed by looting the Central Bank and trying to set up a land bank to asset strip Lanka to benefit his Trumpland Backers and benefit America First and the GLobal 1 percent.
BTW: Drones are now doing environmental intelligence gathering for uncle Sam at the Ministry of Agriculture of SL!
JVP should push for impeachment of Bondscam Ranil and the release of the full PCOI Report on the Bondscam which has been mysteriously “embargoed” at the behest of IMF which turned a blind eye on financial corruption of Bondscam Ranil and those named in Panama Papers, while piling taxes and fuel price fomulars on the working people..

This politics chaos has given a good popularity to JVP..
They made use of it ..
Can people open their minds and hearts for JVP.. Only party that tells the truth

6-member JVPrs are powerful but no powerful enough to change the attitude of the masses.
      They just overestimate their levels.

Had not UNPrs been unbent, nothign would have been acheived. Sure, JVPrs did some work, but they should not feel like that they mastered it.

He should stop this kind of Tom foldery, should form a government with the genuine intentions to alivate people’s miseries and build up the country for the good of all. He should forth with get ride off his royal club which is utterly insensitive to the people’s pains. All those who stayed with him all through this bad episode are the good guys to take the government forward, they have the drive, determination and stamina for it.

Our understanding is that the Cabinet appointments ultimately are in the hands of the President.
Coalition governments the world over hold intensive give-and-take. The 2015 UNFGG did not. Was it, could not? They must do so now but will they?
    .
JVP seems to have an axe to grind on RW.
Remember there is a big hole in the bucket dear Henry.

If RW includes the proven rogue Ravi Karunanayake, the JVP should lead the protests against it.

It is time for the people of Sri Lanka to wake up and protect their hard won rights and freedoms.

I think it is high time JVP to prove that they can work with people.

Just arguging being alert to their theories only, they will not succeed in lanken politics.

The kind of politics that JVPrs are upto can well be successful in Europe but no tin SL.

So, it is high time them to realize the basic in lanken politics. The reason people to reject them for the last 30 years is connected with JVP’s only hunting tactics.

I dont think except those virulent two grand parties, any other party can take ground in lanken potlics.

That is the nature of people. They just change their attitudes the manner SIIRSENA is used to. Sirsena is the MOST example for lanken COMMON man thinking:
They dont behave consistent and in compliance with norms.

Upul..I totally agree with you..that Ravi K should be in jail not parliament ..for all that he has done….RW will never learn any lessons..the people will teach him at the next election…..he never learns he will bring all the rogues back ..so many in the UNP….so whatever has been achieved is in vain as RW thinks he is Gods gift to democracy and Sri Lanka

Considering the fact that the UNP has already declared there will be no coalition government and ministerial positions will be 30 according to the constitution it seems the JVP is creating fake allegations to keep the momentum of their popularity that they gained during the last 50 day going.

If JVP wanted to become as a national party, firstly they should become a party for all, not for Sinhalese only. It is very easy to blame every one from the opposition but they should come up with policies and programmes that resolve the economic problems and resolve the Tamil question. Some of the questions are:
What is the position of Religions in the constitution?
What is their position about devolution of power?
What is the type of system/structure that will suit to this country? Is it unitary or federal or any other?
    What is the foregin policy?
What is the economic policy? Free market, Closed market or Both?
Will they investigate the war crimes, missing persons and human rights violations?
Will they investigate the corruptions by previous regime and the current regime and take actions against those responsible?

    • 5
      0

All Political parties in SL, should answer these questions and put forward a 4 or 5 years plan for the country.
They should also tell the citizens of SL what they will do with the corrupt MPs/Ministers/Presidents.

      Ajith,
I am sure they don’t have any answer for your questions except for sitting on the fence murmuring like toads in a well.
They might say one thing for sure.
“Russian shoe is too big for us and the Chinese shoe is too small.
      That’s their vision.

If RW is going to increase the number of Ministers in the Cabinet, again he is asking for trouble. For the time being, just focus the attention on developing the economy of the country with the minimum number (preferably 15) of Ministers and earn the reputation of the people and the international community. The more the number is increased, problems will be created by the so-called undesirable Ministers. Look at Canada and Great Britain and other western democratic countries where Parliamentarians are keen to support the development of the economy of their respective countries. First create a good image in the eyes of the people and the international community. Do not appoint Parliamentarians who have links with problematic organizations outside Sri Lanka. For instance, if RW wants economic assistance from outside countries, then he can appeal through the Colombo Plan, Japan, the European Union, etc., and not to make Sri Lanka a battle ground for outside powers which will only have great impact on the country’s economy and people will have to undergo hardships. Moreover, why can’t RW make his government a National Government by including TULF stalwarts Sampanthan and Sumanthiran both of whom worked tirelessly to save democracy. This is a great opportunity to demonstrate a united Sri Lanka.

Getting TNA in to the ‘National Government ‘ will be like shooting your own feet for either the UNP or SLFP+ SLPP+ UPFA, as one of these groups will whip up the racial difference and will lose the NEXT ELECTION. This had been the ETERNAL problem for SL. We don’t have a REAL SINHALA STATESMAN in SL.
SL needs to ditch religious and racial ANIMOSITIES

jvp at the start in 1970 was a Fascist and rascist Group, led by a idiot called rohona wijeweera.they did not have a Programm to elevate the living Standard or the Quality of life of the Farmers or workers.in the first uprising in 1971 the Young Boys and Girls who joined this Group to fight and overthrow the then socialist government were only idealists not leftists, blended by che guevera.the second uprising in the 80ees, saw the jvp terrorising killing People at random.,because the the Volk did not Support them.again they proved they are not leftists, no friend of the workers and Farmers .in the presidential election premadasa against Madam b. they supported the unp man premadasa.now again the jvp leaders act as if they are the Champions, to safeguard Democracy, safeguard us from imperialism, and capitalism.my mind says the jvp leaders are nothing but hypocrits., never leftists.do not trust anura kumara and the rest. they are there to save ranil and the unp.i feel sorry for the ordinary jvpeers.these leaders of the jvp are corrupt, just like ranil, sirisena, mahinda and allmost allthe other politicians.to hell with all politicians

    — Does spend the State wealth wisely

Do you believed that set of policies of laid down by JVP since 1965 May was a day foundation of anarchism and political Terrorism agitated by JVP founding father of PDN Wijeweera, ails Rohana,
ails Attnayake led that Hundred thousands youth lost their-life during 1971 April and 1988/89/90 large number of Youth killed by UNP leadership? Where is that JVP accountability ?

The parry of Terrorism and anarchism was advocated long-before that JVP last 52 years.
Nowadays that JVP is under covered operation of UNP at Temple Trees all party direction by Ranil Wicks of UNP leaders that convey
Under the personal supervision of RW of that leader of UNP that look after that vital interest which want bring back 20th Ameadeant to Republic Constitution …to be curtail President -power.

JVP ‘s that new political agenda drafted by Sirikota Kotta is that NEW Party of headquarters of UNP office bureau . has undertaken. But that right to vote suppressed by SC+ UNP+JVP. This is unwarranted politics advocated by UNP’s.

In spite of that all differences on Ideology that theory of causality is not recognized by UNP leadership.
That is what RW wanted” god created universe” is motto of set of policies advocated by UNP leadership.
UNP has change RULE of Games. Our point of view that UNP’s are unwise of politically

If UNF forms a government on their own, they can have only 30 Ministers according to Mairthri’s and Ranil’s 19th Amendment.
Even 30 is too much given the fact that this government will last only 15 months before the expiry of the current Parliament.
There is no reason to have Deputy and State Ministers at all, for such a short period of time.

The JVP though it claims it is a Marxist party, their history shows otherwise. Right throughout they have taken a communalist stance and not communist. During Rohana Wijeweera’s time, it declared that the Tamil national minority is entitled to self-determination. This was later abandoned and the party became a full-fledged communalist party. In 2006, it went to the Supreme Court to demerge North and East. Another racist Sarath N Silva readily gave the verdict in favour of the JVP.

It is not surprising the JVP has produced two virulent racists. on par with Cyril Mathew and KMP Rajaratna of the yesteryear. One is Vimal Weerawansa and the other was Somavansa Amarasinghe. The former who is a frog in the well continues to fan the flames of racism through explosive rhetoric.

The JVP as now is no different to SLFP/UPFA/SLPP. This is the reason why the party is lagging behind in the polls.

The JVP must rally the down-trodden and national minorities to make progress.

It should stop giving advice to others when the party itself is ailing.

What is the JVP stand on the letter of “Resignation” of the “Fake PM & Cabinet”? I saw the six names of the JVP members among that 122 who filed a case in the Appeal Courts and obtained a “SUSPENSION” (Interdiction according to JVP) order to suspend the “Fake PM & Cabinet”. That Court is yet to make “FINAL” decision on their application. So , is the JVP ready to “ACCEPT” that “Resignation” and allow the “COUPE LEADERS” – “MR & Co. Inc.” and the President to go FREE? Why not the JVP DEMAND the President not to accept that resignation; but wait till the Appeal Court makes a decision.? In the alternative, why not RENEW the call to take action on the Resolutions passed by the Parliament, two times. Are they (JVP) not allowing this “MONSTER” (MR & Co. Inc) to go with “HONOR”. Why not get him and the “Fake Cabinet” “DISMISSED” by the Courts? Any DEAL?

I don’t think the real JVP dudes would piss on this Kumara, even if he is on fire..
He betrayed the lives of tens of thousands of JVP Heroes for a lousy 25 Lakhs from Dr Ranil.

Kumara was Busting his Balls in Kotte to help Dr Ranil to keep his PM, job while Dr Ranil was hiding at the TT.
What is this Bull Shit now?…

Kumara knows he and is party is despised by the Pohottuwa supporters.
Even the SLFP who ditched Dr Ranil woun’t have a bar of this JVP Prince.

Now he is trying to hood wink the Modayas by purporting to attack Dr Ranil..
I don’t think anyone with a bit of gray matter , specially the Sinhala Buddhists will buy his crap….

JVP MP Nalin Jayatissa, participating in the Balaya political debate on Dec 13, 2018 said there are no loopholes in the 19th amendment or constitution.
Now his leader says the opposite.
JVP has been making contradictory statements for the last few decades. How can people trust them.

All those MPs selected to offer Ministerial posts should be asked to submit a new declaration of assets and wealth and a Police report.
    ———
MPs are suppose to be the representatives of people but are they representing the aspirations of people after they get elected? In 2015, when voters elected UNP candidates, they expected a ‘Yahapalana’ Government but did they get one? Going against corruption was a main slogan but now UNP MPs are protecting a leader who is behind one of the biggest corruption scandals; a leader who is all out to sell national assets to his foreign buddies; a leader who is trying hard to give more powers to Demala politicians although ordinary Demala folks are against that. Is this what the voters expected?

I guess why so many people seem to hate JVP is their legacy as an extreme leftwing party that sought to overthrow democratically elected governments through violence twice in the history of Sri Lankan politics. I share their sentiments and do not support violence by any group- leftwing, right-wing, nationalistic, religious or any other – to achieve their goals.

However, from a distance, today’s JVP appears to be a nonviolent party fully participating in the democratic process. They seem to be one of the very few parties, who have got an explicit anti corruption platform and are holding the other political parties to account (please correct me if I am wrong).

I doubt whether JVP will ever be able to form a government, nor do I believe that their economic policies will ever be helpful to make Sri Lanka a developed country. However, I do appreciate their role in keeping ‘the bastards honest’.

One wonders as to whether the present JVP wants to breakaway from the image of the JVP of the seventies.
But the reaction to the Matale skeletons find, bordered on the cosmetic.
Are there any more Wimal Weerawansa lurking around?

Do you trust that JVP working for principle of Democracy ? The very few of People many trust JVP ,
but that majority NOT that 95% of commoner do not that trust of JVP is/was political agenda.
JVP is party of trust on that GUN RULE politics which was advocated by 1971 April 5 by man like Linoel Bopoge is one and only living guy of Terrorist, that currently support for the UNP+TNA+JVP grand alliance . Current JVP leaders are rich in paper currency printed in by Federal Reserves Banks in USA and Indian. In spite of that largest currency printed by both USA and Indian has not that local problems because RUPPE has devalued 40% since 2015 January 8th? By UNP of RW govt.

While there are key political line of that JVP outfit that sources of all political evils derive from terrorist of Politics island wide by current JVP leadership .
JVP is political cancer of society of Democracy which is that key part played of JVP is good for survival of that UNP, TNA and Muslim Congress.
The hard core leadership of UNP,JVP, TNA , CBK and MC that grand alliance by working against an intentionally undermined rights of People of Sri Lankan. How is that JVP go SC of courts says they an opposed right to vote for fresh election ? Is that democracy ?
