Ranil Rescues “Wild” Weerawansa

Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe came to the rescue of Parliamentarian Wimal Weerwansa, when the latter was stopped by CID officers at the Colombo International Airport after detecting that he was travelling on an invalid passport.

Weerwansa

High drama prevailed at the Bandaranaike International Airport (BIA) today when CID officers stopped National Freedom Front (NFF) leader Wimal Weerawansa MP from going abroad.

Weerawansa reportedly had behaved in an unruly manner first argiving with the immigration officers and later with the CID officers who had questioned him.

Meanwhile Weerawansa explaining matters said “I came to the BIA around 3.30 am today to leave on a tour to Italy, France and UK. When I produced my passport at the immigration desk an officer said it was not valid”

“I recently lost my passport and in place of that obtained a new one. Later I found my lost passport and had mistakenly sent it to stamp the visa. However in this period I also lost the passport I had newly obtained”

“The Immigration officers told me that if I can get a new passport I could travel with the Visa stamped in my old passport. So I went to Immigration and Emigration office in Colombo and obtained a new passport and came back to BIA with the old and the new one in possession”

“However by this time CID officers were present and they stopped and questioned me despite the fact I had acted in accordance with the Immigration officers advise”

Weerawansa went on to say that he was going to Europe on an invitation extended by several organizations to conduct lectures on the prevailing situation in Sri Lanka following the government’s agreement to implement proposal contained in the recent UNHRC resolution.

Weerawansa described the incident as a clear attempt to stop him from going abroad and relaying the truth to Sri Lankan’s domiciled in Europe about the current happenings in the country.

The National Freedom Front leader said that he had got reliable information that the government was trying to arrest him.

However, an Immigration officer said that Weerawansa had behaved in a wild manner using foul language while accusing the officers of being involved in a conspiracy to arrest him.

Leader of the House, Minister Lakshman Kirielle informed parliament that Weerawansa who was detained at the BIA by the CID has been allowed to leave the country after Prime Minister facilitated the legal clearance of Weerawansa’s passport.

MY foot – what qualifications has this man possessed to hold lectures ?

I thought lanken state is well informed about his educational qualifications. May most likely this man is now on a try to apply for asylum in the aforementioned countries – claiming his situation inthe country today is dangeroous for him. As Junior Premadasa pointed out clearly day before yesterday, this man who is the thumb of former President will be charged against his high profile corruption issues in the housing ministry that he handled under MR.
This is a greater mister made by Ranil -the kind of men to leave the country irrespective of the abuse of forged passports as can be read above. How many times the bugger et al lost his passport – is that the case for average citizen inthe country. If this was the case in germany, they the authorities would have put him jail for the only reason.

Ranil has done a great mistake by allowing him to escape from the Law. MR may have requested Ranil to do so. Ranil is a real fool not suitable for the post of PM, he is still scared of MR & Co. Take Avant gard as an example. Let the fool come back to get votes, and will teach a good lesson this time.

Ranil is well known for protecting thieves and killers.

there are more than one case supporting that.

Civil society groups must file a case against PM Ranil Wickramasinghe for corruption and aid and abetting corrupt politicians like Wimal Weerawansa to avoid the law. Ranil has also humiliated CID and airport security officials who rightly arrested Weerawansa and is promoting a CULTURE OF IMPUNITY AND IMMUNITY for corrupt politicians.

Ranil Wickramsinghe’s intervention to facilitate Wimal Weerawansaas’ travel is a grave injustice against the people of Sri Lanka who voted for good governance. Wimal Weerawansa and his wife have 2 passports each.

There is one law for ordinary people who have only one passport and another for corrupt politicians. Weerawansa is corrupt and gave houses to his relatives but is scott free. So too is Ranil Wickramasinghe who has systematically encouraged a CULTURE OF CORRUPTION AND IMPUNITY in Sri Lankan POLITICAL CULTURE. The politicians of all partieis think they are above the law because both Ranil and Mahind Jarapassa are alike – literally, morally and ethically CORRUPT.

The culture of impunity and immunity for corrupt and criminal politicians continues with Ranil Wickramasinghe who is himself morally corrupt.

Ranil Wickramasinghe is playing GOD and breaking the law of the land by letting Weerawansa who should be behind bars with his wife who also had 2 passports. Ranil’s act is a corrupt and criminal act and a case should be brought by civil society against the Prime Minister for encouraging impunity and law breaking by corrupt politicians.

Ranil act is Malefide in BAD FAITH. He has also humiliated CID officials and airport officials who are trying to do an honest job.

Verbal diarrhoea will be his style of lecture to the dumbos of Diaspora.
The Diaspora who only cares about how to make money and shows off DOES NOT GIVE A SH…T to poor Srilankans in SRilanka.

They screw up our land SL with their racists ideologies who will never favour peace and prosperity in our land Srilanka.
Who are the losers then ? the peace lovers of SL who live and suffer silently in SL.

Weerawansa aiyo Weerawansa !!!! Isn’t it an irony that RW has to step-in to let you go to spread your lies against the new government that he leads.

You not only spread lies in Sri Lanka but now you want to take your lies to the world.

On another note I really think the PM of a country getting involved is not necessary. The PM is not above the law, If the immigration officers felt that it was legal to let him travel then they should decide within the law and let him go. If not detain him. SRI LANKA MUST CHANGE!!!!

So Ranil is the law now? Ranil is interfering in all police and judicial matters to protect the crooks of the previous regime. Will Ranil entertain a call from an ordinary citizen too if he/she is being investigated by the authorities?
RANIL has even said that he will use tax payers money to provide legal aid to defend the Army higher-ups who are accused of war crimes/HR violation charges. RANIL/MAITHI’S job now is to protect the politicians who they can make use of and protect the ARMY (probably fearing a military coup).

Is this the change RANIL/MAITHRI offered the UNP?

The UNP supporters who voted in the last election is fed-up with the political interference of RANIL as much as they were with MR. VASU was right RANIL is a P_K_y_ destroying democracy and continuing with nepotism.

Ranil and maithree are playing big dramas and their first mission is to protect mahinda and his back licking dogs. Sajin, mervin, duminda, weerawansa and his wife, gota, shiranthi, yoshitha and mahinda all are accused with valid evidences for lifetime jail but these two cowards are protecting them. No way this country go forward.

An uneducated, corrupt politician who cannot secure a vital document like a passport, not once but twice? Wants to secure our nation.

What a joke! Good luck Sri Lanka.

    Cheers!

PS: What’s our PM upto dealing with minor emmigration matters at BIA? Is he one of those never smiling, stone-faced immigration officers in white at BIA?

This wass a petty issue that should have been dealt with and resolved in a practical, amicable way by relavant authorities at BIA.

MP Dinesh by raising this in the national chamber, has become the newly celebrated Baggage Boy of MP Wimal, The Pathetic.

PM Wickramasinghe should rather avoid a similar fate.

Ranil should be rigorous as Angela Merkla has been.
Else, nothing would be easy for him with most abusive bunch left by former President. THis man is the penis of Mahinda Rajapakshe. Remember how the Wimal attacked using all derogoatory terms to President Sirisena ?

It is high time to lock up this bugger not giving any social association for all the divisions his actions resulted in this country to date.

If the above statement is true then he shouldn’t be stopped…and if he had invalid PP which is already stamped then follow the normal rule

advising someone is the clear interference which was done by MS earlier

In general officers here are competent about application of rules and interpret the rule one to one differently

When Karuna came back from a tour of Europe he was a changed man. He became a pain in VP’s bum. Then he went to the UK and was arrested by the authorities.

How come Wimal gets into trouble with passport problems, be it his or hers.

MP Wimal Weerawansa commented in the parliament “that people should come together to safeguard the Sinhala identity and the sovereignty of the state.”

I suppose he is travelling abroad to safeguard the Sinhala identity and sovereignty of the state. Is he trying to safeguard his bum?

Patriotism is a good place to hide all sins. What is he hiding from, identity crisis?

what a pathetic idiot this boruwansa. He and his wife have so much trouble in managing their passports. Old passport, lost old passport, new passport, refound old passport, lost new passport and newly new passport. Most probably he has trade his new passport for collecting money for his journey to Europe. There is aneed for a statement from the imigration department!
Why is he travelling to the most hated western countries? he smells everywhere a conspiracy and ofcourse he has always evidences… now he is going to the enemies. He said it was a conspiracy of the govt. to stop him from travelling to Europe but at last the prime minister helped him???? He should be aware that some country sues him for foul propagand about them.

What is your observation on the Paranagama report?

    Here is the news:

“Dinesh Gunawardena took away the Mace alleging that the Chair had been biased towards the government in allocating time for them to speak.”

Once TNA MP Sivajilingam also grabbed the Mace.

What us this show? Both Tamils and Sinhalese share the same stupid gene, immature lot who cannot be trusted with democracy.

      Native,

      I endorse the Paranagama Report.

As a Sri Lankan and a human being I am ready to deal with the bitter truth that will inevitably come out.

I think Sri Lanka will be a better place, if we deal with these tough issues. In line with our constitution. Now rather than later.

I have no idea why newly crowned MP Wimal The Pathetic’s Baggage Boy Dinesh & Sivajilingam like to mess around with the Mace in Parliament.

Looks to me as if they would love to engage in playful activities inside the Chamber. Like little girls. Nothing wrong with that.

Speaker should guide them to the lawn outside the Parliament. There both Dinesh and Sivajilingam can play until cows coem home. We the people can pay their bills for all that play.

      Cheers!

What did compel you to endorse it?

“As a Sri Lankan and a human being I am ready to deal with the bitter truth that will inevitably come out.”

What exactly has he dug out from his “investigation”?

I think he wrote this report and conclusion even before he started the investigation.

Watch this forum, I will give you evidence from his own report as to why I think he had already written this report before even reading his mandate, just to please the war criminals.

This shit losing passports is very suspect. He should not have been allowed to travel and investigations must be carried out to find out what the story is about these missing passports. We all know this criminal who has been robbing government funds and giving government houses to his relatives. Where is the good governance that the new government promised when rogues like this imbecile are allowed to roam free. This uneducated tramp, what can he lecture on. He will be good at teeing his audience how to break the law and not get caught.

I understand, the like of our Immigration Officers are titled as “Boarder Guards” specially in US. Those officers are the deciding “Authorities” who and who would be allowed to go out and coming into the country. This could be true, because, long years back during the time of JRJ, one of his relatives went to work at the Embassy; but for some discrepancy in entry visa and resulting argumentative behaviour, the person was not allowed in and also I heard that, that person was debarred from entry to US for a considerable period pf time. That “prohibition” was entered into the computer system and that could not be retracted by any other higher authority. I know, it is same system prevailing even today. It is also known that merely in possession of a Visa to enter or go out does not mean your are legally entitled to travel. That is how the system must work and it must be applicable to all and sundry. Otherwise, if a Prime Minister holds the view that “HE IS THE AUTHORITY” in making EXCEPTIONS to the Law, where are we heading to. Isn’t our PM capable of understanding that simple logic or does he thinks that this is like his party – UNP, where he could do as he pleases. Sorry Mr. PM, you are letting us down big time in a big way. Mr. President you are also to be blamed for this state of affairs,as the Head of the State and the Government. I urge you to take a few moments of your time on a daily basis, perhaps before you go to sleep, to contemplate on days events and think in terms of Buddha’s way: SAMMA SATHI AND SAMMA DITTI. If not, you will not succeed but end in utter failure. At the moment your FAILURE in Governance is very visible. So please correct the course. Good for you personally and good for the people and the country in particular. Thank you.

The left hand knows what the right hand does, We sri lankans are gullible fools for believing what ever the politicos say. One highlights anothers mistake and the one who highlighted is the hero.. where are those champions who shouted Ranjan, Sujeewa, Hiran and the others? NOTHING is going to change, only thing that will change is the corruption and nepotism changing hands when the time comes.. We will be left high and dry including the generations of the normal man in debt but the generations of the affluent or the politicos never wanting.. Rata Ballata Yanawa, Balla Rata yanawa.. Ranil is not a fool. He is an astute politician with talent and charisma. Though there have been errors to his account compared to other leaders they are negligible except for the people who see storms in a tea cup. Let’s give him a chance. His attempt to give some relief to Weerawans is not foolish work; as he is not a vindictive man he thought it’s best to give a chance to Weerawansa.

Why did you interfere in the case of the notorious humbug called Weerawansa when he tried to leave country using bogus excuses of missing Passports and subsequent finding them and hoodwinking the public and immigration department? So you as P.M sets an example that it is alright that guys like you who were elected by the people to get away with your arrogant importance and think you are above the law, We are really disgusted with you and the Yapalana Sirisena, You are no different from the despicable crooked clan of MARA that we the people threw out. Like it / believe it or not MR is still the Master Puppeteer and all politicians
including RW and My3,are his puppets. WW travel abroad may have other reasons.
Sajin Vaas was cleared to fly to S’pore despite the ongoing criminal investions
and now its WW. Look at their rescuers…….it’s the cream of the government.

here is the scenario on the story….

With a lot of digging now taking place in the country to trace the ill gotten gains of the previous rulers these two close confidants of MR are given the green light to sort out the finances which is being investigated by national and international investigators.

These two closest henchmen will refinance the wealth under different names and schemes from what it is now so that it will remain untraceable. The President, PM and many in the cabinet know about it and MR being a great colleague and master, it’s favour time, You scratch my back and i’ll scratch yours.

Order from the top (MR) to the PM and everything is sorted out. What a disgrace for a sitting PM to stoop down to that level will remain a mystery
and once again the dirt will be swept under the carpet and the people will remain blindfolded as is usual.

      Yasin,

“These two closest henchmen will refinance the wealth under different names and schemes from what it is now so that it will remain untraceable.”

Is WW able to do things that require a normal brain? He might be trying to do something with his own money but surely nobody else sends a guy like him to solve serious problems abroad.

If the wealth was “hidden” abroad using the real names of the persons trying to hide it they were really stupid and didn’t ask for help.

Even I know about offshore companies, foundations and trusts that nobody can trace.

It is sad to see that once again Ranil has succumbed to the evil ways of SL politics. Good governance has become a joke with MS doing U turns & turning a blind eye to thugs and known criminals of the past regime, as well as, letting nepotism & cronyism continue to thrive, starting with his own family. I expected Ranil to behave better & I always thought that he was helpless with his hands tied by the MS regime but intervening on behalf of a guilty party in clear case of high handness & possibly an immigration violation was totally stupid. He should have known better that interfering with matters of law is unbecoming of a Prime Minister & such interference from powerful people only demoralize honest people from doing their job. If Weerawansa was unjustly harassed, then Ranil should do something about it because it effects average people too, who have no such powerful friends, instead of ‘rescuing’ this yob.

Who is this dumb*%#^ trying to bullshit. Is he going to lecture the monkeys and donkeys in Italy. And which country will issue visa to a passport which was reported lost. But I don’t think he had gone through the procedures of a normal person will do for a misplaced passport. a day before the man was reported to leave the country – SAJITH revealed a lot about how the bugger looted the funds allocated in the housing ministry. Now he has to provide answers to all of them. Not knowing how to do it, likely this was an attemt to leave the country for escape. This man should be brought before the investigations and kept away from any lanken human association. All blatant lies and hatreds can easily be sowed by the man s cesspit as no other potlicians ever did in the country. He has mobilsed a gathering over the years withthe patronage of most abusive president. This man too should be added to the list whch would contain the ones who deserve to loose their civic rights.
