Department of Chemical & Process Engineering, University of Moratuwa, Katubedda, Moratuwa
Dear Professor,
I am a retired Consultant Surgeon, who is one of the many who strived hard to bring this government to power. (Please look at my Facebook page where there are a few videos I made in support before both elections)

Speaker Ranwala
I love Anura as a honest, educated, knowledgeable and a well spoken young man with a good analytical brain. As such I downright refuse to believe he failed to double check the Hon. Speaker Mr. Asoka Ranwala’s educational qualifications before deciding to make him Speaker. I have never been a political slave and never will be one either.
For some reason, may be his gaff as Speaker on the first day of sitting, people have started digging in to his credentials. There are some sick you tubers out there who think they are right now in a ‘Eureka moment’ and have got the speaker by the neck. This is not just a case of castigating the speaker but also a case of challenging honesty and integrity of the the Hon President.
It is as clear as or clearer than daylight that there is a concerted effort to drag the President and the government down and this is one of many such efforts. We as patriots and well wishers of the government are greatly perturbed by this attempt at dragging the government through mud.
I agree with the stance of the Speaker and perhaps the government too, that the onus of proving the allegations rests on the shoulders of the people who have raised the issue and are going to town on it. Roman Dutch law we follow states that the accused is innocent until proven guilty so government must be waiting for ‘ cryers of wolf’ to prove their case.
I believe however that it is time we blew the whistle on the matter and put cards on the table. As the faculty of university in question, your Vice Chancellor and your good self have a duty of candour by the country at large to come out with the information you hold on Mr. A. S. Ranwala the Hon. Speaker in order to draw a line under the issue and bring to books those individuals who deliberately, wilfully and maliciously create and spread fake news to destabilize the government.
Thank you,
Yours sincerely,
Dr. M. M. Janapriya

Calm down Doc MM ….. take it in stride ….. Lanka is a nation of bad apples ….. it’d be well-nigh impossible to select good apples without one or two sneaking in to the selection …….. even in the JVP/NPP ……. which has shown exceptional behaviour for a long time ……. that’s rare for a Lankan political party.
–
If the Speaker has himself – not others for him – claimed qualifications he doesn’t have then he should resign. …… It happens in many civilized countries and soon forgotten. …… Don’t beat it up ……. there are other more important things ……

Mahila,
I for one am quite happy that this affair happened, and that too so soon after the election.
I am happy , not because the NPP has egg on its face, but because I was afraid that NPP politicians were actually the honest, incorrupt, efficient, impartial, patriotic beings that they claimed to be. But they are as human as I am after all, and engage in a bit of hanky-panky.

As the credentials of the NPP Speaker are being scrutinized, and still not proven it is essential to verify the credentials of all past parliamentary representatives. Those found with false credentials found as people naming some, should be penalized, and the funds collected from these penalties should be used to develop techniques to repel monkeys or scare monkey and elephants, an initiative the NPP is actively pursuing, unlike previous governments, as village can survive without animal attack.

/
Mallaiyuran / December 16, 2024
“Isn’t NPP supposed to be different?”
Old,
I agree with your challenge, though CT’s leading advocates all this time, to defend the “Royals Marshals”, depending on the Maxim of “If America can do, then why shouldn’t our leader (The Old Rowdy King) shouldn’t do?” But now, the NPP has given a fair solution for their internal problem. But anything Old Royals did during the UNP-SLFP Union era has now become worms wiggling beggar wounds, without any investigation for more than 20 years. To give some chronological perspectives to the investigations, can somebody start to demand the NPP to start to investigate all past crimes, in the time order? For my eyes, your accusation of “NPP is not showing any difference than UNP-SLFP Union” seems to be true, because not NPP had allowed a mountain of NPP MPs crimes to heap, but adamantly giving impunity for the Old Rowdy Royal roaming scot free with their past crimes, without accountability or responsibility. Why only one or two education crimes are being investigated, why not somebody file a case to investigate the standardization of Siri Ma O and Bathiudeen? Why not the crimes at UOJ, like denying a fair chance to Dr. Thiyagalingam? Why not Vasanthi using UOJ letterhead for Old Rowdies’ election campaign?

The Speaker is considered the 3rd citizen of a country considering the responsibility he holds and the status he commands in Parliament. For such a person to lie about his qualifications and have the same listed in his public profiles and in the Parliament website (now changed!), is downright deceitful. Other MPs may have done so, but in this instance, it is the Speaker of a country who has acted dishonorably which is not a matter that can be overlooked. Now it appears that his claim of a PhD holder is confirmed as a lie, with the Parliament website removing his “Dr” title. One wonders whether his other degree qualifications are false as well. This has brought disrepute to the JVP/Malimawa party, who rode high on their clean politics and the slogan ‘we will cleanse the Parliament”! This may also cause unnecessary doubts for Sri Lankans applying for higher qualifications or jobs abroad, requiring all foreign universities and employers to be more cautious about the background of Sri Lankan applicants.
/
Mahila / December 12, 2024
Is it the Practice for PhD holder to be termed as Doctor!!??
My understanding was he/she should have a DSc. to display Dr. in front of his name – Not PhD!!??

/
The Weedy One / December 14, 2024
Well, your understanding is wrong. The world convention is that a Ph.D. holder has earned the title ‘Doctor’ to be used. Unfortunately, an MBBS holder, (a basic Medical degree of 4 or 5 year duration) is also a “Doctor”. The Americans resolve this by giving a name followed by Ph.D. A D.Sc. (Doctor of Science) is a next-level-up accolade, a very special honour, EITHER obtained (by submission of a special Thesis/Book/Treatise to a recognized University) or awarded as an HONORIS CAUSA to people who have achieved or contributed greatly to a given discipline. I hope I’ve made it clear to you. Giving ‘DOCTORATES” to undeserving people (Mahinda Rajapakse is one example) was also tolerated in Sri Lanka. BTW, this was instituted by a former Colombo Uni VC and once-upon-a time UGC Chairperson – Kshanika Hirimburegama. Thankfully, she didn’t last long!). Mahila,
Who is to blame?
The Sri Lankan media (visual and print media) started addressing Mervin as Dr. and it was like a lizard with a golden necklace.
–
Sri Lankan culture has been degraded by Sri Lankan journalists. Impact is beyond estimation. Today, scholars are of the opinion that we should introduce a “code of ethics” to media institutions.
.
Further to this, the media for some reason did not use the prefixes Mahendra Rajapaksa and Gotabaya Rajapaksa. Both Mahendra and Gotabaya must have requested it.
:
The norm is that if you have covered a PhD (by working on it for a period of 3-5 years) you are legally entitled to use the prefix as “Dr.” However, in most cases, honorary doctorate titles are not a real prefix, except for Srialnka, which has not respected these norms in recent times. I really dont now srilanken UNIVERSITY dons made no effort to correct it to the stupid MEDIA institutions.

It wasn’t long ago but rhetoric and practical politics have become a hindrance to them today (katin bathala sitaweema). Many of them are behaving like in a kindergarten today.
.
But even though it has not even been 3 months, the question that many are raising today is why the person who displayed the qualifications of the 3rd citizen or the speaker of the AKD chairman was never questioned.
Why did Prime Minister Harini Amarasuriya not bother to check the academic credentials of her colleagues in Parliament?

Newly elected leaders are careless about many issues and thus the people trust them

It is a team effort. Parliament is trusted and recognized as the most respected institution.
The supreme institution is above any other institution. This is what PUNNAKU eating majority of the nation is made to believe.

Even if you work in a research team, you will try your best to see the qualifications of your colleagues. ist not so ?
Above all, in Europe we focus on PhDs and let them share their views on what areas their research has involved.
–
Besides, if the PM had done her homework as a PhD candidate, nothing would have gone this far. Now almost everyone frowns at the other.
–
In addition, the long silence of AKD and Tilvin Silva on this absurd issue shows that even though they have come to implement “real system change”, they behave powerless in their practices. Now it is reported that a statement is to be made by Speaker Ranwala and it will be on next Tuesday.
Such an issue in Europe will last just 24 hours. I have examples if you want me to produce.

Hello Leelagemalli,
I spent one Christmas and New Year in Limburgh and a week or so near Spa (Ardennes) in Belgium. a couple of weeks before Christmas they had Zwarte Piet Celebrations. I will let you explain who he was and his giving of Sweets etc. Is there a similar tradition in Germany?
There was much discussion as to whether it was a racial slur, like the Robertson Jam Golliwog on Marmalade in Scotland.
The Golliwog was banished, as being racist, however does Zwarte Piet still survive?
Best regards

In almost every home in Germany, Christmas celebrations are more or less an extended family gathering after 12 or more months of hard work at their jobs and in their personal lives.
I know this from my own colleagues and how much stress they go through by posting gift boxes (full of toys, high-tech gadgets, clothes, fine types of sweets, wine, hot beverages and other eatables, etc.) to their loved ones on December 24 and 25.
My dear neighbors, who are in their mid-80s, are looking forward to welcoming their sons and daughters (with their adult children and grand and great grand children) who come to visit them from far away (sometimes 2000 kilometers away) for their Christmas time. Most of them I know closely are 50-60 years old or older, but if their parents are still alive, they leave their family but spend the sacred night of Christmas with their beloved mom and dad. Some people collect their parents from elderly homes for just a few hours. As a thoughtful person, this is very nice to see, and if my mother were still alive, I would definitely spend more time with her. Current day german manners are like written in stone, well-disciplined and like other normal activities. Some people drive thousands of kilometers back to enjoy the time they spend with their elderly parents.

Mr Janapriya is probably advocating on behalf of the NPP here. However, as some commentators have mentioned, the speaker must put his cards on the table, face upwards as soon as possible, or be compelled to do so, by the government leaders. Engineering qualifications by themselves need a higher intelligence quotient than medical qualifications, so he will probably have nothing to be ashamed of, if he makes an honest declaration.
/
LankaScot / December 13, 2024
Hello Lasantha,
“Engineering qualifications by themselves need a higher intelligence quotient than medical qualifications”.
This maybe applies in Sri Lanka, but in my experience every Doctor that I have met has studied for at least 7 years and has been very Intelligent. Even the Entry Qualifications are high.
“Academic qualifications: You’ll need to have excellent GCSE and AS level results, and high grades in your A levels or equivalent qualifications. For example, Oxford requires A*AA and A-levels in Chemistry, and one of Biology, Physics, Mathematics, and Further Mathematics.
I suggest you should look at the MSC Site for further information.https://www.medschools.ac.uk/studying-medicine/how-to-apply-to-medical-school-in-the-uk/entry-requirements?type=standard-entry-medicine
I wanted to be a Doctor but my Handwriting was too good.😢

There was a time when those who were a little weak in maths did bio-sciences (that could lead to medical degree) and the ones that were good did physical sciences (that could lead to an engineering degree). All of that changed after engineers found it hard to find jobs in the 1970s and the demand to enter medical faculties grew because the number of seats was restricted.
Bright students now opt for medicine, not for the love of it but because of parental pressure among other things.

“Surgeons are addressed as Mr. “
That has a some history to it.
There was a time when British physicians refused to recognise surgeons as doctors on par with them.
When the surgeons established themselves as a professional group, they hit back by refusing to be called doctors.

Did you know that if the husband is a doctor in an Austrian family, his wife is automatically called a lady doctor? I have been to Vienna many times for work and personally, but I think about the people, I have never had a good feeling. Deepthi (my scale to depict the level of malice) or the like stupid pompous ladies are the ubiquitous.
:
It is similar to how the mother and father of a Sri Lankan doctor gain some special recognition in society by being called “the doctor’s mother and father”.
In the Speaker’s fake qualifications scandal, Sri Lankan journalists were jumping up and down saying that Ranwala’s wife is also a doctor, not only his daughter is, his son is an engineer, etc. who care who s/he is, if he decieved the nation for the last 2 years by wearing FAKE titles ?
:
Although these are now a thing of the past to many countries, Sri Lankans still touch them from the wrong end as usual. That is typical to them.

Hello Leelagemalli,
The Americans started the Oil Industry Development in Aberdeen. My first experience of them was on the Beryl Platform. Their attitude was – if you can do the job it doesn’t matter what your Qualifications are. Many times I saw so called experts sent ashore for the mistakes that they had made.
However the US (mostly) gung-ho attitude led to the deaths of many Divers in the early days. In those days the Company Man (usually American from Texas or Louisiana) was a godlike creature whose word was Law
The Lessons learned with the Piper Alpha Disaster led to many changes in Safety Regulations and Practices.
I watched one of my friends from University (a BSc Engineer) struggling with the Alignment of a Gas Compression Pump that increases the yield from the Strata. He was sweating because it took him 2 days to complete the Job. All the time he was overlooked by the Company Man. Downtime means Revenue Loss and that’s what motivates Oil Companies. He survived to work again with the same Company. Qualifications are absolutely required in many Professions, however they don’t guarantee how good you are. Experience is also a good teacher.

LS,
.
Mr. Janapriya is believed to be a surgeon. But many of us read him as a doctor. Why is that? If he was a doctor (internist), one could call him a doctor.
.
Sri Lankans were colonized by the British and anything that is imitated in Sri Lanka should not be different from the UK. Most of our laws in force today have remained unchanged since the colonial era. However, titles are prefixed indefinitely, can anybody explain me why ?
:
In Germany, even if you are a medical graduate (surgery is a separate specialization that starts after completion of the degree), unless you have worked towards a doctorate (experimental or statistical), he or she should not be prefixed as doctor. This is also the case in Austria and Switzerland. This is very strictly observed in Germany and the other countries mentioned above.can be discerned in their name boads (either as Arzt/in or Dr).
:
I think it’s a good development that so many people are expressing their opinions on this in the forums of this country today.
At least this information will help our youth to correct this in the future.

“……Engineering qualifications by themselves need a higher intelligence quotient than medical qualifications….”
I beg to differ LP, because those are two different pathways right from the A/L in SL. At the time we did our AL, those who want to be medical doctors took the biological sciences stream and the others followed applied mathematics to become engineers. In both streamlines they had to get the top marks to become either doctors or engineers so I don’t believe there was any difference in IQ levels of these top notch students. Actually my concern is, the way most these professionals from both streamlines behave in the society since qualified is way too different to their IQ levels compared to that of those professionals in western societies!
/
Lester / December 14, 2024
““Engineering qualifications by themselves need a higher intelligence quotient than medical qualifications”.
Very true. Medical school is more or less memorization with very little mathematics other than basic stats. The hardest subject is probably biochemistry, which relies heavily on organic chemistry. You never get away from mathematics in engineering, even if you are using the computational tools. Most of electrical and mechanical eng can be reduced to a differential equation. In software eng, you are essentially dealing with data structures – discrete maths – and choosing the optimal algorithm.

Can an Engineer compose ‘Moonlight Sonata” or do a heart transplant? What is so great about an engineering degree compared with so many other amazing inventions done by so many non-engineers??

“Can an Engineer compose ‘Moonlight Sonata” or do a heart transplant? What is so great about an engineering degree compared with so many other amazing inventions done by so many non-engineers”.
.
Spot on my dear Jit 👏 u made my day!!
.
Srilanken way of thinking has put him in an isolation forever. 🫥 only a good psychologist / therapist can help the kind of beasts, basta 😋. Only estranged desperate Deepthi could please him, 🍻

Lester / December 15, 2024
This individual “Leela” works as a rep for a major pharma, but doesn’t know that artificial organs for transplantation are designed by biomedical engineers. On the other hand, the same individual knows every timing of Mahinda’s bowel movement for the past decade.
/
old codger / December 15, 2024
Lester darling,
“artificial organs for transplantation are designed by biomedical engineers”
So, the item between your ears is a gigantic cock-up ? That’s why it couldn’t compose “Moonlight Sonata”.
/
Jit / December 16, 2024
OC, there seems no item in the place you mentioned but a space entirely devoid of matter. You know what we call it. However, a few atoms or molecules always remain and they flare up every day on CT pages.
/
Lester / December 16, 2024
Why do you call other men as “darling?” We know you are a classless pervert, but you are hiding in the closet as well?
/
old codger / December 16, 2024
Lester,
“Why do you call other men as “darling?”
You know I am a Muslim three wheeler driver. We Muslims have this talent for figuring out the inclinations of unmarried fake plumbers of a certain age.
If the cap fits, wear it.
/
leelagemalli / December 15, 2024
Lester the scoundrel (proven to everyone so far) is a real clown to underestimate my education, the ill fated man doesn’t know what role AI plays in creating drugs and devices. This clown is becoming a pain for CT readers today.
It was the (RNA technology) experts I worked with who created the vaccine for Biontech/Pfizer and related companies when COVID-19 hit the world.
.
Always trying to be above others (mental issue), however, there is not a single CT reviewer to praise the crap, but never try to gain a minimum knowledge of the basics of science and technology that can open the little head of man. This plumber is becoming a real sick person to us today.
Enjoy figeting the THUMB-UP and DOWN meter, it will surely become your main hobby.
/
Jit / December 16, 2024
“………..Enjoy figeting the THUMB-UP and DOWN meter, it will surely become your main hobby…………”
LM, If I go by the figures and activities of that meter, it is quite certain that no one has hired him and is pathetically jobless.
/
leelagemalli / December 16, 2024
Jit,
OC is right having proved that the guy is a lonely unemployed plumber. He is single and seems to have nothing to do but tease commenters . Not a single statement he has made is backed up by facts.
–
The poor guy is looking for his “thumbs up and down meter” 24 hours a day. Deepthi (another dollybuster style womanhttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wBZ9p3YeICE) is the only one holding a torch for this guy.
/
Lester / December 16, 2024
“to praise the crap”
“but never try to gain a minimum knowledge of the basics of science and technology”
“Enjoy figeting”
Who needs “Moonlight Sonata” when you have such beautiful government school English? Sri Lankan Shakespeare, straight from Galle.
/
old codger / December 14, 2024
Jit,
“Tribal mentality ” is correct. Many Sri Lankans think of the field they ended up in as the apex of achievement.
/
leelagemalli / December 15, 2024
OC,
I know about a dozen graduates who studied medicine abroad (Africa, Germany, Romania and a few other countries) and made every effort to have their degrees recognized in Sri Lanka. I also knew a few DAAD students who came to Germany for their Masters and PhD, however they behaved rudely with their colleagues. That is to say, they started to rag on the weak. Can you imagine? Some Ethiopians came to me and said that unfortunately it must be a problem born in “South Asia”.
–
These graduates who did their medical degrees in a foreign country were treated like the last scum by GMOA and MC.
They later left for Australia and America because they could not tolerate the Sri Lankan mentality. Thank God this happened a long time ago and I had a good opportunity to connect with them, but I did not make my mind to come back to the University of Colombo.

Ignorance is bliss. Heart transplant = biomedical engineering. If Beethoven were alive today, technology would provide him with a hearing aid.
/
Jit / December 15, 2024
Oh really? Well, I am very interested to know if bio-engineering has ever invented a technology to replace rotten brains infested with tribal viruses such as acute inferiority, chronic racism…and of course incorrigible ignorance..??

Lester / December 14, 2024
Also worth pointing out: there are two kinds of intelligence: verbal and numerical. Verbal intelligence is very important for doctors, which is why the NHS in UK has to spend large sums of money re-training foreign doctors from certain developing countries who are only good at reciting like parrots. Sri Lankan doctors don’t fall into this category. Verbal intelligence is not particularly useful for engineers other than some “soft skills” here and there, e.g. managing large teams. Precision is much more important and that business is entirely mathematical.

Like knowing when not to claim (like a parrot) that the pressure of water in a bottle at the top of Sigiriya is 300 psi.

Cannot fix retarded.
“The higher the height of the water the greater the pressure exerted at the base of that container or pipe.”

/
old codger / December 16, 2024
Lester,
“at the base of that container or pipe.”
Congratulations!!! So ChatGPT finally found that part for you?
How come you didn’t know that when you wrote “Water does indeed accumulate pressure with height. It’s called “gravity.” ?
/
Lester / December 16, 2024
Gravity causes hydrostatic pressure. You lost this argument. Now you are here, twisting words and misquoting as usual. You have no real knowledge of anything.
old codger / July 24, 2024
“Apparently this idiot believes that water accumulates pressure with height, and this pressure stays in it”
But that’s not bad as Scot, who denied that gravity is a force of attraction. Maybe Scot is used to traveling at the speed of light, since every professional physics paper on classical mechanics assumes Newton’s Law is valid.

Scot,I am not talking specifically about the pool at the top of the rock, but the numerous fountains and other water structures at the bottom & surrounding areas.”
What else can one expect from someone who quotes Praveen Mohan as a scientist?

“he will probably have nothing to be ashamed of, if he makes an honest declaration.”
My feeling is also same. But the problem remains uncleared. And other side is the one bothering me lot than ex. Speaker Asoka’s slippage. Pot may call kettle black, but here the crows are struggling to hold the swan and paint it black, so they call “it is a crow”, one of them!

While this is not an attempt to support or oppose any individual, I believe it is important to uphold transparency and accountability, particularly in public service. Maintaining double standards due to fear or other constraints can undermine trust in institutions/persons
.
Here are some notable examples that could benefit the readers
.
Sajith Premadasa: It was claimed that he earned a Bachelor of Science (Economics) in International Relations from the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE). However, it was later revealed that he sat only the first-year exam, and an Aegrotat degree was granted instead. (Source: Colombo Telegraph)
.
Namal Rajapaksa: Allegations of cheating during his final-year law exam have raised questions about the integrity of the process. (Source: Colombo Telegraph)
.
Mervin Silva: He was awarded an honorary doctorate by the Institute of Alternative Medicine, ostensibly for his social service. However, the nature of this recognition, given incidents such as his public misconduct (e.g., tying a dengue official to a tree), has sparked criticism. (Source: Sunday Times)
.
Mahinda Rajapaksa: Reports indicate he did not pass his A-level exams but leveraged a decision by the Justice Minister to gain entry to law college and complete his qualifications. The manner in which this was achieved has been questioned in various reports. (Source: Colombo Telegraph)

You are spot on Dayan about the ‘qualifications’ of all those fellas! Further to MR’s ‘qualifications’, it was actually granted by the infamous MoJ at that time FRDB for some MPs who could not pass their A levels, to become lawyers. MR had been working as a library assistant at the Vidyodaya university at that time and he jumped at the opportunity. It was also well known that the peon who marked attendance at the law college those days became very rich 🤣 and also, Jeyaraj Ferrnandopulle ‘represented’ MR at all sitting exams 🤣.

Wonder what will earn me a Doctorate (forget entry qualification, hard work, bit of gray matter, …)
Lester please advise.
/
Lester / December 14, 2024
Native,
Don’t you know the meaning of “honorary” doctorate? No one becomes a researcher with “honorary doctorate” on their resume. Perhaps the English language is not your forte, unlike devil dancing or finding herbs in the forest. Anyway, outside of STEM, a PhD is not difficult to obtain. If you do a PhD in “human rights”, for example, just use the terms “genocide”, “minorities”, “victims”, “abuse”, “racist” and “international law.” There are 6! = 720 ways to combine these words into unique, meaningless sentences. Sentences —> paragraphs —> document. If you want an example, refer to the “Darusman Report.” The best thing is, you don’t have to write the document by yourself now. Just give the info to the AI.

Dayan,
“Mervin Silva: He was awarded an honorary doctorate by the Institute of Alternative Medicine, ostensibly for his social service.”
This “Institute of alternative medicine” is another story in itself, isn’t it? It used to be headed by a person who titled himself ” His Lordship”.

OC, the worst nightmare is, Silva was given this blinking doctorate by non other than a qualified medical consultant – Geethal Mendis!! Such is the pathetic state of our learned people, including so called professor GL Peiris.
/
SJ / December 14, 2024
The said decision by which MR entered Law College was a general ruling enabling MPs to enter Law College.
Not a bad decision as the may learn a little law before they start to break it.
If at all very few beneficiaries would have used that qualification to practice law.
/
Jit / December 14, 2024
There would have been better ways to teach stupid MPs about law than conferring a prestigious law qualifications that was deserved for hard working intelligent students!! What is the rationale of giving opportunities to those who couldn’t even pass one subject in AL chopping off students who did pass 4 subjects plus A, B passes? It was blinking day light raping of our education system by that worst government in SL run by 5th grade ministers!!
/

* sorry two typos,
‘qualifications that was deserved for’
should be ‘qualification that was reserved for’

Pity that your genius was not available at the time to offer “better ways to teach stupid MPs about law”.
/
leelagemalli / December 14, 2024
That day, the Prime Minister, Mrs. B, brought a new law that MPs can study for a law degree (I don’t know if Mara passed the university entrance exam) so that men like them can stand with qualified people. Candidates like Jayarajpulle. That’s how Mara got his law degree.
Compared to Ranil, Mara’s general arguments are weak (aiming at the gallery) and detached from the world, despite fake news, his public speeches full of Sinhala garbage attacking others (Kunuharupa) only made him a religion for the slaves in the south.
–
Popularity is opium. The late Mugabe also became an embodiment of that society in the same way.
. Mara’s politics was a crime from day one even if biased media misinterpreted it for some hidden reasons (business between rascals and media fraudsters).
.
What MARA accomplished by acting arrogantly in front of the SB-slaves of the South proved his criminal abilities more than legal BOUNDNESS and civilized behavior.
Sri Lanka, full of slaves, loves the primitive traits of the bully and the domineering daddy style.
I think even his wife Shiranthi, who is accused of being involved in the “mysterious murder of a rugby player”, is still not clear about Mara’s fake life.

Which world do you live in? Is it where the Sri Lankan Airline takes the passengers?
If the monkeys didn’t have knives and scratched only with empty hands, was Siri Ma O’s donating them, each, one?
How did Madame Siri Mao get into law making (or rather as you indicated lawbreaking) job? What in the world Professor Siri Ma O’s field was? Registrar for Langkang University and selected the students by standardization and election for Parliament MPs? Thanks, God, Siri Ma O’s luck, the constitution 1972 did not ask those standing for election to have any education, otherwise her income might have been badly affected like even Badiyudeen wouldn’t have been able to fix it.
