Rivira Editor On Casino Mogul James Packer Tour To Perth

The Editor of the Rivira newspaper, owned and operated by members of the Rajapaksa family and a group of directors including Lankan casino king Ravi Wijeratne is on a special tour of Perth, Western Australia on a package organised by controversial Australian Casino mogul James Packer, Colombo Telegraph learns.

Rivira Editor Sisira Paranathanthri receives an awards from Minister of Economic Development, Basil Rajapaksa

Sisira Paranathanthri is on a special tour organised by Packer to his Crown resorts while several other Sri Lankan editors have also been offered the special tour, it is learnt.

The aim of inviting editors to Australia on the tour is to familiarise them with Crown’s activities in order to step the negative publicity for Packer’s Crown Sri Lanka project back home.

The stay will be organised at Crown Perth located on the Swan River near the city of Perth, Western Australia, owned by Packer’s Crown Ltd. The complex includes a 24-hour casino, a wide range of restaurants and bars, two hotels (the luxury 5-star Crown Metropol and 4-star Crown Promenade), a Convention Centre, nightclub, 2,300-seat theatre and 20,000-seat indoor arena.

what about all the other newspapers in Srilanka ,even they are toeing the Rajapakksa line ,otherwise they will be obliterated,so what is there to read except CT.
Even CT vanishes now and then, the people are starved of the real food for the mind and the body, everything is adulterated in our once beautiful country.

We now have a new class of ‘Casino Journalist’. Packer needs to invite members of the clergy as well. Of course some have already eaten dana from his partner Ravi Wijeratne.

Packer comes with cutting edge gambling Sri Lanka will have no know how to regulate. He will eventually bribe his way to make sure locals gamble there. The guy will virtually capture everything if given an inch. Then it will be too late to reverse.

Gambling is profitting from unethical business. The gambling machines are programmed to be favour of the business. It leaves a trail of misery, broken marriages, addition and vice. I hope good sence prevails and he not be allowed to set up shop there.

Look at the Captains of Commerce and Industry the Rajapakses are
showcasing to the world – Dhammika Perera and Ravi Wijeratne, both
leading Underworld and Casino figures. Both are in a trade in which drugs, prostitution and other sleazy features come into play. And we have some Buddhist priests not only blessing the ventures of these men partaking in Banas but also advising Parliament that is the way to go.

Whatever has happened to the fair name of this decent country? Where is our much held ethics and morality?

    Dr. B. I. Passe
