The Roman Catholics objected and brought the construction down under the supervision of three priests of who the leader was The Rev.Fr. Marcus. The Bishop of Mannar, The Rt. Rev. Fidelis Fernando, contacted by phone, excused comment saying he is an Colombo for minor surgery, and directed Colombo Telegraph to the Vicar General Victor Soosai Anthony. Fr. Anthony in turn said that the objection is to new concrete structures which are illegal. Asked what then of the concrete Buddhist structure nearby, he said that is a different matter. The Rev. Fr. Mostly agree with you on the historic points. Hinduism(Saivism) and its physical structures predates Christianity (Catholicism ) and its structures by a big margin. UN Geneva is a big joke. Few days ago Tamils in Jaffna at their Fort Temple held a special Pooja invoking God’s blessings for USA to intervene to solve the North East Problems, look at the changing dynamics.

Desperate people think desperately. TNA politicians made ordinary people, victims of war, to believe that USA will come to their rescue. Didn’t you hear that Sampanthan was saying repeatedly that the problems will be solved before next Deepavali, each year. It is very unfortunate that TNA has succeeded in brainwashing these people, while MPs spent time enjoying in Colombo. People have no one to turn to now, hence they appeal to God, still believing God will direct USA to come to their rescue. The effect of brain washing is so much.

When the Portugeese invaded Northern Srilanka, King Changlyan fought against the invasion but lost the war because of the converted Tamil Catholics sided with the invaders. This was the end of the Tamil kingdom. These converted Catholics put their religion first and helped the foreigners to occupy the rest of the Tamil/Singhala land.
This continues until today……………………..These Catholics must learn from the Budhists and the Hindus that both communities respect each of their faith and take part in both Singhala/tamil religious festivals. Budhists and Hindus must get together and educate these intolerant Catholics how to respect other religions practices.
