Launching a scathing attack on university students, Minister Of Higher education S.B. Dissanayake referred to the students as Water buffaloes and said female students lose their virginity within days of entering campus.
Addressing the media after a group of student unions petitioned the British High Commission against the opening of a branch of UK’s Lancashire University in Colombo.
“These are not donkeys these are buffaloes,” Dissanayake said referring to the fact that there were already dozens of private universities operating in SriLanka even though the petition claims Lancashire Willie the first.
“Back in our day women entered university Virgins and left the same way. These days girls enter campus virgins but within a few days the job is done. That means that today campus girls are very advanced,” he charged.

It is a shame thawed have to witness such low degrading comments from a person elected to public office and holding the position of minister of higher education. How can you preach about decency when your own sons used to run amock at night clubs using physical violence to harass those who were simply there to relax ? The only reason you and your son’s were tolerated was because you used state power.
Last of all Mr. Minister please remember that your vulgar utterances and those of your leaders reach western countries who, despite their shortcomings, surely are far more refined and civilized than those who we elect as representatives in parliament. You will not last a day in such societies and count yourself immensely fortunate to have been born in this resplendent Island which sadly has 98% percent literate idiots who elect people of your calibre to parliament.
