Several cases challenging the controversial ouster of Chief Justice Shirani Bandaranayake and putting in of Mohan Pieris to perform the functions of the Chief Justice were due to be taken up today (26.09.2013).
The special bench tasked with the job of hearing the case is made up of Justices Saleem Marsoof, Chandra Ekanayake, Sathya Hettige, S. Eva Wanasundara and Rohini Marasinghe. However, only four of these judges sat today. Marsoof was absent. Therefore the cases were all postponed for 23.10.2013 when other cases relating to these issues are being taken up.
According to reliable sources close to the government, the plan is to somehow try and give some appearance of legality to the controversial actions of the Rajapaksa regime that are being challenged in time for the Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting (CHOGM) to be held in Colombo in mid-November.

Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting (CHOGM) to be held in Colombo in mid-November must be ABORTED and if not ALL patriotic Lankans and the opposition must protest the meeting and Kamalesh Sharma for ego boosting the Rajapassa military dictatorship.
Where is the cowardly criminal Ranil Wickramasinghe hiding after the massive loss at the elections? THe failure of the opposition to Challenge CHOGM coming to Lanka is a huge problem.
Ranil should resign and let new opposition leadership lead a MASSIVE PROTEST against the CHOGM circus..

They will rub the oil first and then knock the head.

Supreme Court is captured by Rajapakse brothers. De facto CJ has now started doing what parliament has done before. Today he gave a judgement saying that lands powers are with the central government and not with the provincial government!!!. Though Marsoof is dodging this case today, he will sit next day. If not, he will not be able to go to Fiji to work under another “supreme Court” under the military dictator of that country.

Its such as you learn my thoughts! You seem to understand a lot about this, such as
you wrote the e-book in it or something. I think that you can do with
a few % to power the message house a little bit, however other than that,
this is magnificent blog. A great read. I’ll definitely be back.
