Season Of Coups & Anarchy

By Kumar David

Prof. Kumar David

Cardinal Malcolm Ranjit is on the warpath for justified reasons. He has support from people of all faiths at home, the Vatican and Western governments – Biden is a rosary-carrying Catholic. Will the Thomas à Becket Archbishop of Canterbury and Henry II story repeat itself? It may. This video is dynamite it targets a deceitful, bungling regime.

Muslims, Tamils and now the Catholics have as much trust in Gota’s regime as a mongoose has in a cobra. Farmer’s upheavals are spreading; CEB unions are planning a blackout; the Gnanasara appointment is the ultimate obscenity. President Gota appoints military types to key positions at the drop of a hat and more alarming his public utterances demonstrate that he is edging closer to a ‘military solution’. The year 2021 has seen coups by three hated militaries which grabbed power, overthrew civilian governments and established brutal dictatorships. The people’s response has been de facto civil war! Coups so far this year were February 2021 Burma, Mali in August and last month in Sudan. In addition authoritarian game plans are in play by Brazil’s Jair Bolsonaro and Belarus’ Alexander Lukashenko. There is anarchy in Haiti where gangs have taken over the country and a general strike and turmoil in Ecuador over rising fuel prices. Ethiopia, Somalia, Libya, Lebanon and Yemen are trouble spots of a different genre.

Scottish Parliament lit-up for COP-26

It is useful if Lankans reflect on this epidemic of anarchy and coups as it is becoming clear that a power-garb is a likely Gotabaya option though he has the elected right to rule democratically for two to three more years. True, I have lost confidence in Aung San Su Kyi because of her weak-kneed submission to the Brass, but no denying she won a landslide election victory and is the rightful national leader. Her ousted clandestine civilian ‘government’ has belatedly formed an alliance with Burma’s restive armed minorities and they have collectively called on the people to rise up; battle has been joined. The Burmese junta has been rejected by the world (except China of course) and ASEAN; low intensity civil war is in progress. It is evident that military brutality and take-overs in the twenty-first century are not smooth sailing as they used to be. This time, unlike on previous occasions the Burmese gorillas are up against a civil war. The alliance of ethnic minorities with the opposition is heartening.

Then which idiot appoints a Task Force without a single representative of the nation’s majority (women) and without a single Tamil to draft national laws of ultimate importance? The Samagi Jana Balawegaya has, as far as I know, not condemned Ganasara’s appointment nor joined the trade union cum party drive against Basils’s LNG scam.

The gang-led anarchy that Haiti has collapsed into and the turn events in Mali are not comparable to how things may pan out if the Gota-Military complex becomes adventurous in Mother Lanka. I will say only a few words about Brazil. An Investigation Panel of the Brazilian Senate has found President Bolsenaro and his cabal guilty of Crimes Against Humanity for the blatant mishandling of the pandemic and recommended that criminal charges be brought against the lot. His lunacy included forcing government doctors to prescribe root-and-herb medications like the Pavitra-Gota snake-oil decoctions. Army Silva’s medical qualifications are a dark secret. Should Gota, Silva and Pavitra too face criminal charges for bungling pandemic responses?

The Sudanese coup triggered an uprising, the junta has no control and most likely will be forced to back off. China is too far away to come the rescue of the kaki-clad (or is it?). The army calls the coup constitutional (after suspending most of it), democratic (after locking up civilian politicians and dissolving trade unions), people oriented (after shutting down the internet and arresting journalists) and protection of freedom (after declaring a state of emergency, arresting hundreds and shooting dead 15 demonstrators). A general strike, a call for an uprising by professional associations and massive demonstrations light up, and the Sudanese military admits the country is on the brink of civil war. Bravo Sudan! The generals have blundered and are looking for a way to back off. Here’s the most important lesson of Sudan one that we cannot learn too well. BE PREPARED! If there be any attempt at Burma-Sudan style games, people of all races and faiths, all organisations, trade unions, student bodies, civil society and women’s groups in Sri Lanka must defy it with a general strike and an uprising. Eternal vigilance is the price of freedom.

Rajapaksas are experts in Political coup in Sri Lanka!. They knew that Buddhist Sinhala can be easily cheated by using fake Patriotism and fake Buddhism. They are not only experts in cheating but also abduction and murders and robbing the nation. Rajapaksas will not hesitate to massacre any one whether it is Buddhist Monks or any other Sinhala or Tamil or Muslim who turn against them as they did in 2009 to thousands of Tamils. Even if the military turn against them there are countries like China, Russia, India and USA will help them militarily to save them and silence the uprising.

      “Sinhala-Buddhist”

That’s a laugh! ……. it’s more about the human-condition we are all bogged down in …….. for all I know, Native Vedda’s and my ancestors could’ve been neighbours in some ancient village in India ……….

The Rajapakses are not Sinhalese (they are Malays: just look at them) ……. they are not even Buddhists but Muslims …….

They are carrying on, with greater skill, the Trojan-Horse-ing of the “Sinhala-Buddhists” first started by the Tamil Bandaranayakes …………

      It’s great human-theatre ……. if you have a ticket …………

Kumar the season of Coupes in Africa’s Sahel region, assassinations as in Haiti by US Special Forces, tell us that the New Cold War is hotting up, particularly in the Indian Ocean Region where there is a Hybrid Maritime Trade and Cyber war ongoing.

In fact this Third World War (with a Covid-19 mask that enables digitalization of Economy and Society, cyber attacks and surveillance), is conducted by the West on the Rest – to make Euro-America and its crashing empire Great Again!
This new Cyber Cold War with Covid masks and CORRUPTION PANDEMIC is to Re-boot Euro-American colonialism in the Global South and isolate China which re-presents a Genuine Development alternative to the Capitalocene in the so-called Anthropocene of Corporate environmentalism with a Green Mask and COP 25 hot air shows. Sri Lanka has been vaccinated to the gills and kept in financially destructive lockdown so that its could be asset stripped – land and Ocean grabbing is on going with of course the Yugdhanavi and Keravelapitiya corruption racked with the US citizen Rajapassa brothers who work for the DeepState.
The Sinhala Buddhist Los Angeles Diaspora has been Weaponized and they are weaponizing Ethno-religious identity politics in the island to advance the interest of the DeepState in this strategic island!

Kumar: Full Spectrum Dominance is the new dogma of the Military Business Industrial complex. FSD included Over the Horizon (OTH), Cyber war, dat and information hacks as at the National Medicines Regulators Authority (MMRA) , Covid-19 and Pfizer mRNA vaccine biowar fare, maritime trade disruption also through environmental disasters at sea (MVV Pearl and MT Diamond) and the Chaos Strategy – weaponizing religious and ethnic divisions to DIVIDE, DISTRACT, RULE and LOOT, but also to set up MILITARY BASES, called Lily Pad bases for Surveillance of Indian Ocean Submarine Undersea Data Cables (UDC) that keep the Global Economy and Financial system going.. Sri Lanka is in the midst of the US proxy war on China. Make no mistake at this time.

      Get real.
Only one country in the list intervened militarily. But it burned its finger.
Another is trying hard to have a military base here. But it is unlike to get involved in a civil war.
The other two get only involved where their national security comes under direct threat.

Thanks to 6.9 million fools we are good as dead.
Nothing can stop mass murder either by bullet or by starvation may be worse than 2009 May massacre of Tamils in Nanthikadal

KD , Rajapaksas are here to stay unless and until 6.9 million retards who elected them are willing to fight them back. Isn’t it irony, where retards elected them wishing the minority to suffer and now they are at the receiving end facing the barrel. Tamils have seen it and lived it all their life, whereas the rest are just getting the taste of it.

Mahinda too had the grandiose plan of staying in power for life. He being a con artist was overconfident in wining elections, buying MP,, s and play around with our already worthless constitution. But after being shown the door the family now trust the military more than retards. Hence a situation was created for Gotha to come to power who is much closer to military. From day one Gotha had been working on it. He got rid of people who may not help brought in all those who are facing charges as him. All these men have one thing in common, stay in power which only can provide them immunity. He gave up U.S citizenship because he did not want to end up like Jaliya. Why would he give up his power/ immunity now ???

I am not an LTTE supporter, but the protesters in Glasgow completely lost their effet as the participants of the protest were carrying Tiger Flags. Have they forgotten that Tigers themselves killed Sinhala civilians in villages when they were sleeping, have they forgotten they recruited child soldiers by force and sent them to the battlefield? How can one terrorist group call another group terrorist?

However, genocide or illegal killings, as genocide is a political term, were committed by both the Government of Sri Lanka and the Tigers.

Next time Tamils want to protest they should abandon the Tiger flag and then protest. This would have a better acceptance and effect.

      Buddhist1,
Your good intentions not withstanding, would carrying the National flag have a better acceptance and effect.
      .
The displeasure of Tamils with our National flag has a long history.

No, there should be no flags other than the flag of the country in which the protest is taking place. This is because those who are protesting, although they are Sri Lankan citizens will never come back to live in this country or their children will never come back.

One other point, if Gotabaya is honest about One Country One Law, then the Bo leaves from the flag should be removed and the Asoka Chakra from the Sri Lankan Government’s (and Departments including Police) logo should be removed. No religion, no language and no race should be specifically mentioned in the new constitution. All that should be written is “Sri Lankan/Sri Lanka” and as far as languages are concerned all “three traditional languages”. is how the wording should be.

Buddhist1, you are a good decent man. I have no quarel with you and only wish all in Lanka mimick your thoughts. This country must never be separated or ruled by criminals like the Rajapaksas. I have many Sinhala friends in Canada and we do not sit and throw racial comments at each other. We are very civil to each other and love each other’s companionship. To me the Sinhalese have the same ideals similar to us Tamils. What divides is are these racist politicians who feed poison into the minds of normal gullible people. I hate the LTTE more than you. They have murdered so many of my relatives and family friends. We left the country because of these maniacs. So I feel your pain my friend.

“The displeasure of Tamils with our National flag has a long history.”

To my knowledge, Sri Lanka is the only country in the world that has given a place for minorities in the national flag. Learn to appreciate what indigenous Sinhalayo have done.

Eagle ‘dumb twat’ Eye, unfortunately you did not keep your comments bried and right to the point as usual……….being ‘edited out’. Also why do you talk about things that you do not have……………’knowledge’? Indigenous Sinhalayo? When did the Sinhalese become indigenous to Sri Lanka? The Native Veddahs are the only ones who can call themselves indigenous. Idiot, do you even know the meaning of this word? Sinhalese race was formed in Sri Lanka and originally from Orissa. Tamils and the Orissans are invaders of this beautiful island. Neither of them are indigenous to the country. Idiot!!!!

Buddhist1, I am not a supporter of the LTTE either. Unfortunately this was a tit for tat game the LTTE played not only as revenge, but also to drum up support among the desperate in the north and east. The army stopped colombo bound buses in the jungles, pulled out the Tamils and shot them in cold blood. So many innocent people were massacred by these bastards in army uniform. Yes I agree, most of these LTTE flag waving fools do not even know a damn thing about what happened in SL. Where were they all these years when the Tamils were being slaughtered in SL by the government forces? Why didn’t these cowards go and fight for the rights of the Tamils? Why are they so damn brave in western countries? I only wish the people of SL can look beyond their ethnic differences and move forward. But they need to bring this corrupt Rajapaksa family to justice and hand out the worst punishment the SL law can render. Nasty fellows, should be sent to the gallows……………all of them. While they take these fellows to the gallows, round up that mass murdering (600 cops) ex-LTTE rascals (Karuna, Pillayan and Inniyabarathy), EPDP killer Douglas Devananda, all these cardboard army generals and many senior ranking LTTE buggers and send them along to the rope.

      • 2
        1

        Tamil from the North,

Are you saying that LTTE did not kill civilians and send children to the war by forcefully recruiting them to be killed? Both have done the same thing.

Tamils in the North do not even have the simple courtesy to treat Tamils of the Indian origin as equals. Even when Mrs. Bandaranaike signed the Srima Shashthiri pact the Jaffna Politicians (some to them) supported it.

So people in glass houses should not throw stones at others but accept the wrongdoings.

        • 2
          0

Buddhist1, go back and read my comments and digest my message properly. At no point in my comment I wrote that the LTTE did not kill civilians. The LTTE did this as a ‘revenge attack and to drum up support’. What does drum up support mean? This is an acceptance of their atrocities in the island. Similar to the brutal armed forces of this island, these LTTE bastards also killed not only many innocent Sinhalese but targeted many Tamil intellects and murdered them all in cold blood. Anyone who denies that the LTTE was a brutish outfit has no heart. As I grew up in the north and left the island at a young age, I heard about their atrocities in Sinhalese diminated areas and witnessed a poor Sinhala boy who was killed because he was Sinhalese (it happened in Jaffna). I knew him personally, he had come to see me and gone on bike rides with me. It broke my heart when I heard about his killing. They blamed him as an informant, that was a complete lie. He was no informant, he was a Sinhalese boy who made the mistake of living in Jaffna. I had another friend who was Sinhalese, in 1984 I personally told him to leave Jaffna and go back to Matara as he was from there.

      I agree, dear Buddhist1,
      .
You are eminently qualified to voice your protests to those who were carrying Tiger flags. You, more than almost anyone else, have always been consistently protesting against the unreasonable harassment of Tamils by the racist Rajapaksas.

      • 2
        7

        Sinhala_Man,
“…protesting against the unreasonable harassment of Tamils by the racist Rajapaksas.”
        —-
It looks like you are suffering from amnesia.
Rajapakshes did not harass Tamils in an unreasonable way. LTTE Tamil terrorists harassed Tamils and killed more Tamils than the number of Tamils who got killed during the military operation to eliminate Tamil terrorists that massacred Sinhala Buddhists for three decades. Tamil terrorists took hundreds of Tamil children by force and recruited as child soldiers. Tamil terrorists kept about 300,000 Tamil civilians by force as a human shield and shot those who tried to escape and seek help from Sri Lanka Armed Forces. Sri Lanka Armed Forces made enormous sacrifices and saved those civilians who were kept as a human shield. If Rajapakshes are racists who wanted to kill Tamils, they could have ordered to drop few bombs and finish the war at Nandikadal and save the lives of hundreds of ‘Ranaviruwo’.

EE, I was agreeing with Buddhist1 that the Tiger flag should not have been used.
        .
Look at what you, the separatist, have written. You have used the perfectly good word “Tamil” eleven times. Please go through that comment and ask yourself in which four instances you ought not to have used “Tamil”.
        .
If there is any decency in you, go through and re-submit the comment making corrections.
        .
You are almost universally regarded as a racist because you equate “Tamil” with either “Tiger” or “terrorist”. It’s not only Tamils who cannot interact with you, even Sinhalese like me, who don’t know the Tamil language at all, want to have nothing to do with you.
        .
I am emphatically for a united Lanka. However, when a Tamil advocates separatism, I have no counter, because of you! That is why I arranged for my daughter to learn Tamil from infancy. She uses all three languages fluently. What happened to her once, when Mahinda was President? She was heard using Tamil. She was harassed and humiliated. Stripped and searched, just for speaking Tamil. You are a b-st-rd! No name, no identity, no location. I realise that it is foolish and futile for me to say all this to you, since you have no sense of shame.
        .
        Now respond to that!

      Dear Nathan,
      .
Isn’t this a sufficiently strident denunciation of our National Flag, in less than a minute?
      .
      https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Px12dOQf12k
      .
You have expressed only displeasure; Ven. Watareka Vijitha Thero castigates much more strongly, and for the same reasons as you adduce. Please you must listen to that. Do you remember the sequel to it?
      .
It was about seven years ago, Mahinda Rajapaksa was President. This monk was siding with the Muslims of Aluthgama. He was discovered on the side of a highway, near Horana. (Google for more details.) Circumcised with a blunt and rusty knife. Hospitalised. Then they wanted to charge him for self-inflicting those wounds.
      .
Not every monk feels so passionately for non-Buddhist minority citizens, but his existence ought to make you re-consider your knee-jerk reaction to comments from people like us.
      .
You would agree that Ven. Vijitha ought to have been much more circumspect in how he expressed himself, but you could hardly ask for a more passionate expression of sentiments that you share with him. Only problem for you is that he speaks in Sinhalese. Please listen; it’s less than a minute.

Buddhist1 ‘Next time Tamils want to protest they should abandon the Tiger flag and then protest.’

That will never happen because they are all brainwashed LTTE sympathisers.

      Svenson,

Similary Sinhalese are also brain washed by the Sinhala Buddhist Deshapremies and the Buddhist Monks. Unfortunately, Gotabaya and for that matter all Sinhala leaders have forgotten what happened when Mrs. Bandaranaike listened to the Buddhist Monks in the past.

Its time for the educated Sri Lankans to rise up against these stupid idiotic ideologies.

      S
There are all manner of protesters. The LTTE supporters capitalize on protests with broad support by waving their flags in strategic locations.
That besides, the Tamils should learn to support other just causes in this country and elsewhere to win support for their just demands.
The typical Tamil nationalist is very narrow in outlook and hopes that the US & UN will secure the Tamil nationalist goals.
Many realize it but are to shy to admit it.

Though SJ and me disagree mostly , I am totally with him on this issue. Also minority should admit that among Tamils and Muslim community it self there is no unity. There is an interesting report on Hakim talking about his experience (year 2002) with Prabha in Today’s Daily Mirror.

    Dear Nathan,
    .
This monk, who used to live in Mahiyangana, was an outspoken critic of Gnanasara and the BBS. You will be appalled to hear all that he has suffered for the sake of minority rights:
    .
    https://groundviews.org/2014/06/20/did-the-bbs-attack-vijitha-thero-again/
    .
That is very clearly written, but since there are so many incidents mentioned in that article, it’ll be a relatively long read.
    .
This is a more concise report, but from Al Jazeera. The BBS has brought shame to Lanka, but it looks as though the Rajapaksas just didn’t care what happened to this monk.
