Army Commander Daya Ratnayake issued a strong warning to groups with separatist agendas, saying the world had already seen how Sri Lanka answers separatism.
“As long as people are within a democratic framework we can all live happily. But if anyone becomes extremists or tries to divide the country, it is not the country that will be divided but their heads that will be severed from their bodies,” he said.
The Army Chief made these remarks while on a tour of the former conflict zones of the Wanni recently.

Terrorists are bloody COWARDS…they instill fear into unarmed Civilians by words and deeds in a most barbaric way because they are heavily armed. As a result South of the Country lived in fear for 30 years. Many who compete now to identify themselves as war heroes then fled this Army and lived outside the country for 15 – 20 years for the fear of beheading.
However this Country now Governeby not by terrorists but by a Group of people identified themselves as civilized democrats elected by people by a popular vote. The Military apparatus of such an elected Govt annihilated the terrorists they claim to have kept the people in the North under subjugation…people in the South lit crackers ..cooked milk rice..for alleviating the fears.The military personnel were identified as War Heroes who conducted not a WAR but a Humanitarian Operation in the North.
But now again the Fear being installed in the North gradually. It is now by the ( In ) human military forces of a Govt who claimed democratic who conducted the famous ( In ) human operations and NOT by another terrorists Group..
The photographs show that this ” Great.. fearless ..yet Rhetoric ” statement has been made by non other than the Commander of the ( In) human Army. Then isn’t this Army behaves in the same COWARDLY manner as Terrorists did..? Because they too posses Military apparatus or Arms…they also now display an ability to speak fearful words …BEHEADING !!!.most unusual Political statement usually made with the blessings of the Govt….all on whom..? On innocent unarmed civilians whose lives have already been traumatized by the 30 carnage the end they witnessed in 2009.
Surely the Commander of the Sri Lankan Army whose wrists are crowded with pirith noolas like Ropes wouldn’t have been stressed as a result of heating up of his bald head…but due to extreme fear of losing perks..

Callum Macrae over to you to advertise to the world the speech of the Army Commander admitting threatening with consequences that they meted to the LTTE then, to warn others now.

Firstly i don’t believe it was a political speech.
We would have expected people like Mervyn Vermin or Wimal Monkey to make such crass statements and people are used to it.
This is a statement made by a Commander of the Armed Forces (a Professional) during a tour of the conflict zones
Due notice would and should have been taken by interested parties for future reference.
