Separatism Can Mean Beheading: Army Commander

Army Commander Daya Ratnayake issued a strong warning to groups with separatist agendas, saying the world had already seen how Sri Lanka answers separatism.

“As long as people are within a democratic framework we can all live happily. But if anyone becomes extremists or tries to divide the country, it is not the country that will be divided but their heads that will be severed from their bodies,” he said.

The Army Chief made these remarks while on a tour of the former conflict zones of the Wanni recently.

    Absolutely!

    Well said commander.

Not only that. Their wives, children should also be punished because they too are affected by the separatism virus. All separatists must be wiped out militarily even during peace time.

These stateless, shameless Tamil losers cannot do anything.

Follow the ‘human right’ style Obama eradicated Bin Laden, mission code named Jeronimo. What more, HR chief Pillay hadn’t uttered a word. I am told she had floated a large wreath in the seas under the statue of liberty to commemorate Bin Laden.

I read somewhere the operation by SEALS was inspired by SL killing VP.

Killing VP was the BEST thing ever happened to SL. But I would have kept the poor beggar alive and use him against TNA terrorists.

All the communities are looking for compassion, support, love, guidance and directions from the Rulers.

Rulers have to act more mature, kind and understanding of all communities.

Please pray for our country to be a loving and understanding country. Leaders should get rid of Negative and evil thoughts a nd help all communities to live in Peace and harmony.

Leaders should act like Mahatma Gandhi and Nelson Mandela.

Sinhalese, Tamils, Muslims, Burgers & others who live in Sri Lanka, should now realize the huge, tragic and shameful blunders they made during the past 30 years: not questioning reports about murders, rape, abductions and other HR violations by the Sri Lankan government and its army, navy, air force and police.

The SL media did not cover many of HR reports by int’l orgs. Independent and highly regarded, int’l HR orgs, such as Amnesty International, HRW, ICG etc, have documented HR violations by BOTH the LTTE and SL military.

Today, Gota’s paid internet propaganda writers, are posting their lies even in the Colombo Telegraph comments sections!

Beheading by the Arymy should be made lawful in Sri Lanka!

They should have tried this out first in Weliweriya and slowly move it to all areas where the trouble making minorities live.

That way they can offer the world the Sri Lankan solution to any form of poltical dissent including problems of ground water contamination, issues of decentralization of government. Sri Lanka has now perfected a method of Control, that is quick and efficient.

    Bravo Sinhala Lanka!

This statement by the Commander of the Army does not reflect very well on the Armed forces. Especially when there is a legal system and judiciary, can the army go aound beheading people. Making such a statement to the troops is an incitement to violence. Who is going to interpret what amounts to seperation? Army should act within the laws of the country on the orders of the Commander in Chief.

Oh Mister Commander, what soothing words.

By the way, I can tell you exactly from where to import the swords and the head resting blocks. The Saudis have a large stock of them.

I wonder if you have a special branch trained to do that line of work. If not we can bring them from Afganistan. I heard since the American invasion the Taliban head choppers are looking for work.

Usually in the Middle-East those waiting for the heads to be chopped off are given high doses of opiates. I suggest that you contact Mervin or Kudu Duminda for your supplies.

I also suggest that the job be carried out at Weliveriya, the earth is red. The blood will not leave a trace.

I wonder if the head will be presented on a platter to the king, like in the olden days. How about the rest of the body. The white van operators have very little work these days. I know they are good at making persons diappear.

They proved it at Weliveriya by killing three “Terrorists” The forces are there to serve the ruling party members. They make statements to make their pay masters happy. The Commander should realize about what happened to Sarath,a powerful and famous guy during war time.

“I agree with you Commander, true that we need live in a democratic framework,we can live happily. As you said yes we should severed heads from the bodies who ever wants to divide the country.”

When did parliament pass such a law?

The army man is making his own law as he goes along, with his own brand Sinhala/Buddhist justice.

In an democracy there is something called due process of law. No one is above it.

You cannot have such behaviour nor should you tolerate such people who utter nonsense.

“As long as people are within a democratic framework we can all live happily. But if anyone becomes extremists or tries to divide the country, it is not the country that will be divided but their heads that will be severed from their bodies,” he said.

I would like to know where in the constitution does it give military personnel the right to threaten the citizens of a country in such a way?

If SF was found fault for revealing the white flag massacre, then this is worse, the Army Commander admitting how the LTTE were killed severing their heads. Another CJ type who identifies Tamils as LTTE and kills them believing they have no right to life. Way to go Sri Lanka.

The army commander has decided on capital punishment in the most barbarous manner for those who ‘espouse separatism’.
Sri Lanka may be the only country where punishment for political views is pronounced by the head of the armed forces.

All commonwealth countries should note this trend in judicial activism by the military.
Will the Minister of Health and judiciary approve this pronouncement?

Maybe the ruling by the judiciary during the court martial of General Sarath Fonseka that “a military court is like any other court” has emboldened the army commander.
At that time, someone said that the Chief Justice may soon be replaced by an army general.

Why are you all people so angry
    with Lieutenant General Daya
    Ratnayake, PSC, NDC, Sock etc
    etc.

    His predecessor Jagath Jayasuriya
and Ratnayake are from a new military
    clan.

They can outsmart Sun Tzu and all other
    known military thinkers.

Wait till their new treatise on war and
democracy is out. It will be a pocket book
for all politicians to carry. It will be
    compulsory for all troops.

At least one paragraph will be devoted
to how a non democratic is beheaded and
how a patriot should be carried on their
    shoulders.

Very soon all the leaders of the world’s armies
will come to learn from Ratnayake. Why should
the Government have PR men when there are
people like Ratnayake. Give them blades or swords
and everything will be done. We will have true
    democracy.

Luckily Ratnayake was not born in Hitler’s era.
He would have been castrated by Rommel and his
men. If he fell into the hand of the allies, they
would have found a live target to practice. Shame
on you Ratnayake. You have let down your organisation
and the men whom you are supposed to command. After
all what can one expected from a person who believes
in the dictum I, me and myself.

I don’tknow whether it is Corporal Kolikootu or
    Anamalu.

The class in our officer cadres has gone down. It
is fellows from the gutters who come into top
    positions now.

Even those military warlords in dark African states
are more civilised when they make remarks. Even if
beheading is not on their books, they do not talk
    about firing squads.

Let.Gn. Ratnayake is a laughing stock. Imagine what
people in Sandhurst Military Academy would think of
this idiotic soldier? Even Beetle Bailey is more
intelligent. At Westpoint in the US, they will spit
on him for the remarks he has made. So we are supposed
to be proud of our Generals. They are only scarecrows
    with pips and a cap.

“The class in our officer cadres has gone down.”

      When did ever go up?

      By killing your own folk?

Or by hiding in the lungi of Tamil Nadu for an expected independence after London was blitzed?

      NO Fear!

Post-independence, Lanka had to build her armed forces and the police into the juggernauts that they are today, because of the chauvinist policies adopted by every successive regime, instead of consistently pursuing an enlightened set of policies aimed at building a nation of citizens and institutions that are necessary for a democratic nation, where the rule of law, accountability and good governance etc reign supreme. Now the armed forces have to gobble up more than half the revenue collected by taxing her citizens – rich and poor. Absurd, isn’t it? If you analyse the rising crime rate of the island, which, incidentally, includes hunting treasure belonging to the Sinhalese Buddhist civilization, murder, rape and robbery etc, one can clearly detect the hand of army deserters – the so-called war heroes;). In this context, its absurd for the Gota and Company to ban the film “Flying Fish”, alleging that its derogatory of the so-called sanctity of the armed forces. The notorious rogue, Sudarman Radaliyagoda, is also also talked of in this connection, for whom the rule of law does not apply!

Present Army Commander needs some one to tell him, while holding the Army Commanders position he is not allowed to use loose talk like his buddy Defence Secretary Got abaya Rajapakasa. Beheading people for starting a terrorist organisation or reviving the LTTE. Before he practice this act on anybody else, he should get hold of KP and charge him for the support he gave to kill and maim people who worked with Daya Rathnayaka durning the time they were fighting to eliminate the LTTE and practice this act. This loose talk will bring ver bad publicity for Sri Lanka very soon or DS should remove him from his post immediately.

“This loose talk will bring ver bad publicity for Sri Lanka very soon or DS should remove him from his post immediately.”

Can you expect any better from the other; they are just saying it from the heart having tasted the meat of their own folk.

Former PM Ratnasiri Wickremanayaka insulting M/s Clinton about her hubby who had already apologised and Rajiva Wijesinha abusing a rich simpleton Jon Snow of Channel 4- so you have both sides of the coin; educated and the uneducated.

The truth lies at the very roots of the tree not on its leaves.
The lust in you folk has no limits.

    Great Talk Army Commander.

General Fonseka was like that. During the war, he told in advance where he was going to attack.

    • 0
      0

Yes SF boasted that he would fire the first shot at Kilinochchi. Ratnasiri Wickremanayake the PM then publicly proclaimed that possibly on the day of the NCP election the Forces might capture the last stronghold of the LTTE and finish the war. However after MR forcing a Victory at the NCP elections, this same SF when questioned by a Jurno why the Army having encircled Kilinochchi not entering and finishing the war, SF replied that the Forces will capture Kilinochchi when it suited them as that was strategy. From August 2008 to December 2008 there was incessant rain with a heavy Monsoon and during this period the Forces were seen pushing Army Trucks, stuck in mud in places as Mullativu where the country was made to believe earlier, that all that area had been captured before, as the MR govt categorically said the LTTE was finally confined to Kilinochchi by August 2008? However when the Forces finally entered Kilinochchi in Jan 2009 the LTTE with the civilian population had abandoned Kilinochchi and gone to Puthukudiieippu a distance of over sixty miles away. This is after VP boasting that if the Forces entered Kilinochchi, the A9 road will be a river of blood.

Now the question is whether the Forces after cordoning Kilinochchi by Aug 2008 did not capture Kilinochchi and finished the war because allowing the Civilians and the LTTE time to move to Puthukudiirippu once the weather settled for the final drama, where VP and his cadre got massacred although they were promised a way out. This explains why the Forces did not battle the LTTE in Kilinochchi as then it would have been difficult to eliminate the LTTE as they had access to their buried weapons and also had Bunkers for cover. Hence VP was lured out of his den.

      No

That would be equally bad for Tamils and Sinhalese.

Tamils who live in Sri Lanka except very few live in an unrealistic world. In Sri Lanka they want to live in a Tamil state. So they are separatists. The Tamils live in other parts of the world are not separatists. While being separatists many of them live among the Sinhalese and the Muslims in Colombo, Kandy etc. They in Sri Lanka want to live like a tribe. So they want a separate land. No community in SL has a separate land. If the Tamils living elsewhere in the world need separate states almost every country would have to be divided. What would happen to them if they tried to divide those countries. The best land for the Tamils is the Tamil Nadu. No other place. Even there, if they attempt to divide India their bodies would be divided. The Military Chief is correct. Sri Lankan government will never tolerate separatism. Those engaged in separation got their families, livelihood, bodies separated. Those who do not realize this reality will definitely face what LTTE faced. Thanks the Army Chief for telling the truth.
