SF Case: Registrar To Convey The Decision To The Secretary Of The Ministry Of Justice.

A five judge bench headed by the Chief Justice Shirani Bandaranayke granted permission for former Army Commander Sarath Fonseka to withdraw the appeals filed by him ahead of the release.

The SC gave permission to withdraw the White Flage case appeal and terminate a Writ Application filed in respect of the Court order by the Court of Appeal in respect of the order on the second court martial case.

The SC ordered the Registrar to convey the decision before 2.00 p.m. to the Secretary of the Ministry of Justice.

    The court registrar should convey the decision to the Minister of Justice who should instruct his Secretary what should be done.
    The secretary is a public servant functioning at the minister’s pleasure.
