According to sources close to President Maithripala Sirisena‘s camp, a secret opinion poll carried out regarding the upcoming General Elections has indicated that the United National Party is poised to win it, with the Mahinda Rajapaksa ‘SLFP Snubs’ group coming second and followed by the Sirisena led coalition third.
In order to prevent this from happening, a high profile team of advisors to President Maithripala Sirisena has proposed a three fold package to deliver a different outcomes from that predicted in the poll.
The three fold package is as follows:
1. To offer former President Mahinda Rajapaksa a high status Eminent Person’s role similar to that enjoyed by the late first Prime Minister Lee Kuan Yew of Singapore and former US President Bill Clinton.
2. To appoint MP Namal Rajapaksa as one of the Deputy Presidents of the SLFP.

President Srisena should not be bothered about the SLFP Snubs or listen to the advise of theso called high profile advisors. It is a suicidal proposal if Srisena accepts that proposals. Former President Rajapakse cannot be compared with the late President Lee Kuan Yew of Singapore or former US President Bill Clinton. They were not greedy like Mahinda or they are not corrupted like Mahinda. Mahinda has a blood on his hand and he is behind the murder of many including Lasantha.
