Sirisena Now Says Easter Bombings Informed At 10.00 AM Amidst Singapore Shenanigans: More Questions To Malalgoda Commission

President Sirisena, in a defensive and self- glorifying speech at the parliament stated that he was informed of the Easter Sunday attacks at 10.00 AM. As Singapore current time is two and half hours ahead Sri Lanka time, 10.00 AM Singapore time would mean that it was 7.30 AM Sri Lanka time. The synchronised suicide bombings that claimed over 250 lives occurred between 8.30 to 9.00 AM Sri Lanka time.

“Fundamentally, on 21st April when this incident occurred as known to all, I was criticized for being overseas. Whilst I was in Singapore, on 21st of April at 10.00 AM it was reported to me. I thought about this incident at this time, and I was shaken and pained. I wondered how this happened. It was not possible to understand in the first instance that an international terrorist organisation was involved,” the President said last night.

“I got to know about the incident at 10.00 AM whilst in Singapore. At about 12.00 PM, a friend of mine who was with me showed me a letter issued by a DIG that was shared on social media. When I saw that letter I thought that the security forces have known about this incident beforehand,” Sirisena told parliament.

“If the President meant 10.00 AM Singapore time, then it confirms that the President cum Commander In Chief of our republic was informed of the attacks good one hour ahead of the bombings. Alternatively, if he meant 10.00 AM Sri Lanka time then he was informed of this national emergency a good two and a half hours after the incident. Both these scenarios are equally disturbing. The first possibility shows callous and criminal negligence of duty and the second, a dangerous breakdown of communication,” our source at the Ministry of Defence who wishes to remain anonymous for obvious reasons told Colombo Telegraph.

“President’s speech today can be a game changer for the Malalgoda Commission appointed to look in to the security and administrative failures connected to this terror attack. As done by the Bond Scam Commission, the phone recordings of those concerned should be scrutinised. They must be used to establish if the impending attack was informed to the President. Phone recording of calls between the President and DIG Jayawardhane should be analysed, Further, gate logs of the Presidential Secretariat and the President’s residence should also be scrutinised to confirm the encounters between the two. The minutes and log entries of meetings that occurred prior to the bombings, between the President and DIG Jayawardhane, should be perused,” our source further stated.

The Sunday Times Political Column of 05th May reported that at a meeting with an opposition delegation which comprised of Mahinda Rajapaksa, Basil Rajapaksa, G.L. Peiris, Mahindananda Aluthgamage and Dullas Alahapperuma (SLPP), Dinesh Gunawardena (Mahajana Eksath Peramuna), Wimal Weerawansa (National Freedom Front), Vasudeva Nanayakkara (Democratic Left Front), Udaya Gammanpila (Pivithuru Hela Urumaya) and Tissa Vitharana (Lanka Sama Samaja Party), President Sirisena rubbished Colombo Telegraph’s exclusive report that he was pre-warned thrice about these bombings. Interestingly none of the MPs of the opposition present had made any comment discrediting Colombo Telegraph.

The Sunday Times said: “In high security circles, serious concerns have been raised over a turf war that is going on particularly within the State Intelligence Service (SIS). It is the premier national intelligence agency. As reported earlier, a plethora of so-called “intelligence reports” warning against actions by Sri Lankan pro-ISIS terror groups were released to the social media. Then came reports saying that the SIS Director DIG Nilantha Jayawardena had a meeting with President Sirisena to personally brief him on the threats – a claim strongly denied by Sirisena. Now, tape-recorded mobile phone conversations have been selectively leaked, raising the all-important question whether elements within were endangering national security interests, whilst engaged in a game of pointing the finger at the highest levels of the government. In the process, they are also baring the fact that mobile phones are also being snooped on with new equipment. One need hardly say this is an extremely dangerous situation. The question is whether this would also be ignored much the same way intelligence warnings were.

The matter transpired at the discussion President Sirisena had with leaders of the Opposition parties. He named the person behind one English website operating from London and declared they had reported that he received a personal warning from SIS Chief DIG Nilantha Jayawardena. This so-called exclusive account, the President claimed, was a fabrication. A loquacious UNF minister also made reference to the claim at a news conference on Tuesday saying it was true, but added the remarks were off-the-record.  Yet, what he said has been tape recorded by many who attended the event.”

A President’s Counsel commenting to Colombo Telegraph on the condition of anonymity stated “analyse carefully the content and the body language during the President’s speech. They only reinforce his track record as a pathological liar. Day by day he has been changing the story about his involvement in the failure to protect the security of the nation. He took great care not to respond to a single allegation levelled against him about being aware of the impending threat of the bombings. Unlike other politicians implicated, he ensured not to even mention that ‘he was not informed of this threat’. That omission was not by chance. It was deliberate avoidance of blame and questions from the opposition. He purposively avoided mentioning whether he meant 10.00 AM Singapore time or Sri Lanka time. His speech was cunningly crafted to wriggle out of responsibility”

“This story has more loopholes than the obvious bungle ups. Sirisena left the country with his family to Thirupathi to obtain the blessings for his Son Daham’s impending wedding. He left his family in Thrupathi and travelled alone to Singapore. What was the purpose his lone holiday to Singapore? Whom did he meet? What was he avoiding? What was the important thing or person at Singapore end that made Sirisena completely neglect the thrice warned national security issue?,” a Foreign Ministry source asked.

“Is Sirisena attempting to absolve his sins by getting an interim report issued by Justice Malalgoda that resulted in punishing the former defence secretary and the IGP? They were innocent people who were slain while praying their God. The role of the Malalgoda commission, therefore, borders on the divine. The integrity of the members of the commission are hanging in the balance. Over two hundred and fifty death are on one side of the balance. We are closely watching Justice Malalgoda and the two other gentlemen to see what their legacy would be. Will they do justice to 250 perished souls and their ever grieving families? Will they do justice by the citizens who are demanding justice? Will they do a job that would allow them to sleep in peace at night?,” These are the questions that the Malalgoda Commission should answer, the President’s Counsel said.

His entire thinking machine is caught by Rajapakshe led POLITICIAL MASTURBATION.
      :
If the people would have been made aware as to why the bugger et al left the country amidst such pre-warnings – people would realize him to some extent, but he is not that honest to reveal it. I truly believe, it was a SEX-WELLNESS trip on the cost of lanken tax payers. This is not the first time, the kind of trips had been wasted by him. Besides, almsot everyone is aware that the bugger enjoys travelling in plane, being able to criticise on the cashews being served in flights.. all are on our blood money.

That says everything about his knowledge about the brutal bombing on very day – if he should have received the phone call at 10 am of Singapore time, it should be prior to the bombing in the church. If that was at 10 am of lanken time, then the question arises, as to why the defence authorities delayed to inform him.
And to tell as ones living in Europe, I got to know this immeadiately the bombing occured. I was preparing myself to leave for Amsterdam. I wonder why President of our rotten Island was later informed ? Or this silly man may have twisted the time as he usually does.
    :
And he does not utter a single word, as to why the BP SIRISENA never allowed state minister and PM excluded in the consecutive sessions of the SECURITY council called after PM and minister were sworn in December.
This man may be thinking that people are so stupid. I think we the people are very unfortunate to have a leader of this nature.

The Presidency should be abolished. The Ex President disgraced the Presidency and after serving both terms became a Back Bench MP and along with the incumbent President became a disgusting silly Joker becoming the Backdoor Premier, then Backdoor Leader of the Opposition. Since last October the incumbent President has proved beyond any doubt that he is insane. With a mentally disturbed individual as Head of State and Minister of Defence, the entire Country is in danger. He cannot accept any responsibility and always try to find scapegoats and talk rubbish. In the interest of the Country all the Members of the Parliament should impeach the President.

    Yes…
Sirisena has been informed by social media.
That is why he is named and called and addressed as SIRISENA.
    Ayyo Sirisena.

    CT,

Whatever way Sirisena is analysed, he will always come out asa Traitor, Sevalaya (sleaze), Pachaya (liar), Mala-Perethaya (living off the dead), and he had sunk to new lows.

When will the Parliament impeach him, and put an end to this agony?

The Tauheed Jamat had better communications, elevation though they were brainwashed idiots, and their bodies will rot on earth, sans the 72 virgins.

What an Idiot. He must be thinking at all the citizens of Sri Lanka are deceived by such low grade illiterate shameless antics.
    .
It is very unfortunate that a country such as ours with a long civilization happens have a president who lacks dignity or self respect. He is oozing stench from the depth of his existance.
    .
In sinhala we call such people ‘thuppahi, sakkili, hingana, ballo’
    .
His character reflects so negatively on all sri Lankans and Sri Lanka as a whole.
    .
How could we continue to keep such 3rd class people as our leaders? Shane on us.

      Gemini Cricket,

      They say, Sinhalaya Modayas.

Sirisena is proof, but unfortunately, there are Millions. Now these Modayas have been joined by the so-called Muslims, Wahhabi-Salafies and clones, Tauhidis, USIS etc.

What do they have in common?

      Stupidity and ignorance are virtues.

MY3 is a curse on my country. It does not matter if it is devil himself who replaces him, there will be 7 days of celebrations the day he goes. But it is Ranil who engineered MY3’s arrival. If Ranil either had the courage or been fair-minded, it would have been either himself or someone else from UNP sitting on the President’s chair today.

I heard Tibetan monks got to know about the Srilankan disaster and had said “we have people who can not afford to buy two slippers to wear in the snow. Yet, they have said “take weapons and fight. We help you”. We did not fight. Now,they do not care us.

I very much doubt if His Excellency is telling the truth and truth only. He has a team of experts consisting of Intelligence and Home Security Officials and the so- called Presidential Advisors.

It is easy and prudence to trust the words of Murderers, Thieves and Hard Core Criminals, but never so with the words of liars. Unless a lie detector test is done for all the players in this ,’make believe me’ drama, the real truth will never be known. Even the Presidential Commissions in the past have proved worthless wastage of public funds and working hours.

Let us forget and forgive the bombers and the President and his yahapalanaya.

I don’t think Sira is stupid to get the Lankawe Time mixed up with the Singapore Time..
Molligoda won’t find anything there to Nail Sira.

What amazed me is how Sira is now playing the Hero , riding on the backs of the Three Forces.,after helping Dr Ranil to come to power and destroy everything the Country had achieved after Nanthikdal.

And then allowing the biggest destruction of the Holiest holiest Places of Catholic Worship ,along side the catastrophic loss of innocent lives of Locals well as Lankawe friendly Foreigners. by not passing on the Intelligence Reports of possible Suicide Bomb Attacks..

Dr Ranil spent good full four years trying to rid of Buddhism from the Constitution,
Bring the Foreign Judges to try the War Heroes, Jailing Buddhist Monks.
And spending valuable Police resources for his F***CID to interrogate even grand mothers to find stolen money.

Most of all, the culling the Army Intelligence Service and Jailing its good Officers, demoralized the Armed Forces.
And it was clearly evident from the Army Commander’s statements after Sira put the Armed Forces in charge to protect the inhabitants..-

While this was going on Sira and Dr Ranil divided the Muslim community into two , obviously the Rich aligning with Dr Ranil and the rest camping with Sirisena.
Both turned a blind eye to Muslim Politics ,because their support was more important specially for Dr Ranil , than the majority which is the poor rural Sinhala Vote Base..

What Molligoda has to do is, find out who among the Kotte Lot were involved in helping the Muslim Politicians to propagate their hidden agendas which caused this terrible destruction..

What really happened is none of the above! I believe that the president was briefed first on 4th of April as soon as SIS head SDIG Nilanatha Jayawardena received the first tip from India. President may have ordered SDIG to verify the tip. It appears that SDIG took a week to check on the figures mentioned in the intelligence report & came up empty! He may have informed the president about his findings to the president on 11th. I believe that it was this massive intelligence failure that led to the tragedy as well as to president’s lying. I think that the president went on his vacation on the belief that that the intelligence warning came from India was a hoax. May be he never trusted India. Also, it is very clear that SIS head had not paid any attention to increasing red flags from Jihadi activities within recent months. Had he had any suspicions in his head already, it very unlikely that this massive intelligence failure could occur!

I think that this chain of events explains everything including president’s lies.

I know you to be a good man. Don’t you remember me coming to your rescue over the “belle kapana palliya” of the Masons?

Interesting that you, too, refer to the “Singapore Solution”. My Belgian Bandarawela neighbour also refers to that often as the way out. Look out for him at the VMC. He’s working in Colombo and so visits the VMC often. You won’t find a more erudite Mason anywhere.

According to a report that appeared in a newspaper, an official in the Ministry of Muslim Affairs has told that Muslim women find it difficult to give up Burka at once and should give time to make the change. Is this guy asking us to compromise national security for the sake of few Muslim women? If a Muslim woman wearing a burka commit a crime, it is difficult to identify the person. It has been revealed that several men have used Burka. If these women want to use Burka they can go to a Muslim country that have no problem with wearing Burka. Native Sinhalayo have suffered enough for being flexible with minorities who were allowed to settle down in this country in the past.

He can’t count. So, he has no concept of time differences. It is our fault having such persons as our leaders. We have to alternate between the silly and the kleptocrat murderers. Such is our choice. Next time we will vote in the kleptocrats. Then, when they excel in what they know best-robbing and killing those who dissent- we will vote in the silly lot. So we go on. We are unable to throw up a set of people who care for the country. Every time we are subverted by racist, ethnic and religious politics. No politician talks about the economy or development because they don’t have a clue. They prosper by setting one community against another. So the country is on a perpetual fire.

      Dear Mama Sinhalam,
      .
You are quite right. The one silver lining is that there is to be a Presidential election within the next six months or so.
      .
There will be more than ten nominees for election, and all their names will appear on the ballot paper. At the moment of nomination, theoretically, each of the ten will have an equal chance of winning. Yet in practice, it will be a two horse race.
      .
Whose fault is it? That of the voters collectively. That includes me – and you. I know how the system operates; do you? Statistically, the chances are that you don’t.
      .
It is impossible for us to educate something like 13 million who will be voting. I have succeeded with about 50 out of 80 whom I have spoken to – many of them strangers seated next to me in buses. However, that is not enough.
      .
I don’t try to tell them whom they should vote for. I ask, “How many preferences at the Presidential Elections?” Usual reaction, one of incredulity. No preferences at that election. I persist. Three Preferences that can be listed One , Two and Three. I’ve done it so often since 1982, but not in 2015, when I voted for this goat, Sirisena, alone.
      .
Then I tell them, vote One for any of those minor candidates who you feel is honest. No need to be sure, since he’s going to lose. Number Two, for such another (or even don’t bother to understand the second choice). Number three for the UNP or the SLFP, depending on whom you want to keep out.

But how can that be a silver lining Mr Sinhala Man? Do you really think that would be a silver lining.. of course we will can remove him in that, but the successor and parliament will be more or less life same.
        :
So long lanken MEDIA institutions would not work heartedly enough educating the people ( I mean rural masses), people s attitudes would not subject to any palapable changes. Rajapakshes propaganda machines have made them eternal deaf and blind regarding their votes. No matter any facts and figures about Rajapakshes are set on the table, they would not change their mind set easily; as if injected mice for experiements, they would stay hallozinated for another few years.
        :
with very same contenders to PE getting ready, my worries become even more about the future of lankens. My bête noire is reelecton of Rajapakshes (anyone in that family would bring lot more danger to the this nation than any other leaders). I always respected Mr RW but I think he is not straight forward enough – of course he is the most decent and civlized senior man in lanken politics today, but what brings us, if he just let things go, not addressing as should have done: to the question, even if he and his state minister not tohave been invited for regular sessions of the country’s security council meetings, now only we got to know. Now only he let his cabinet minister s know after the biggest disaster occured on that very easter sunday ? Until then I was respecting RW for his decency and politeness, but now i cant agree with him any more.
And my problem is I dont see any better leadership in Sajith Premadasa OR Anura Kumara D in JVP either.

          Dear “desperateasnoother”,
          .
Thanks for your comment, and a bit of tedious explanation from me. I had been working carefully off-line on a TWO PART comment on Thursday afternoon. I posted the First Part to get it in fairly early, about 3.30 p.m. on Wednesday, the 8th, but then had to rush away.
          .
I have just posted PART TWO about 6.00 am on the 9th. It was complete except for some preliminary work on the use of bold. What I first posted was a version faulty in the use of bold. Fortunately, it seemed to get rejected; I then spent some time straightening out the bold sections, and that seemed to get accepted. Let’s hope something comprehensible appears a few hours from now.
          .
          All that is trivial!
          .
The resulting scrambling is no great tragedy. It’s just that the TWO PARTS of my observations on the “silver lining” will get separated by these digressive comments. My fault entirely.
          .
Now to address your observations: “A silver lining” necessarily surrounds a horribly dark cloud. I see that cloud as so dark, lowering and threatening that we will not be able to find a solution this year. Things may get so bad after a Rajapaksa victory this year that many of us may literally perish before the silver lining is clearly visible in 2025. I wish I didn’t have to be so pessimistic. It is out of this pessimism that my suggestion emerged.
          .
How I wish you could outline something more cheering. I’ll gratefully embrace it!

        PART TWO: Dear Mama Sinhalam,

People listen because I’m not trying to praise anyone. The hitch is that many feel that any person becoming President will be corrupt. That’s an obvious fallacy. Tell them so, and ask them to keep an open mind until all the nominations are in. So, your One can be Sumanthiran, or even M.K. Sivjilingam.
        .
For a Sinhalese it could be a Buddhist monk from Battaramulla who has been contesting about thrice already. Easily checked on Wikipedia reports of each Presidential Election.
        .
What we want achieved at the end of all this is: split that first vote sufficiently in 2019, so that viewers on three million T.V.s gasp in disbelief when the announcers say that nobody has reached 50% of total valid votes polled. All the Second and Third Preferences will then be counted.
        .
This realisation will make a difference in 2025. There could then be a realistic Third Candidate mounting a properly organised campaign.
        .
You will lose nothing trying this out! I have found the only hostile reactions to be from die-hard SLFP supporters. Many appreciate the seeming equality ushered in by Banda in 1956. A few others express gratitude to MaRa for putting an end to Prabhakaran. I usually grant the truth of both statements – you’ve got to get past that level!
        .
Note to other readers: I don’t know the exact identity of “Mama Sinhalam”. I think he knows my name. Please confirm MS. What we know of each other is that we were both undergraduates at Peradeniya University in 1983. He was a Tamil who desperately screamed “Mama Sinhalam” hoping forlornly that he would not be brutally assaulted by UNP thug Thulsi Wickremasinghe. I gave evidence against Thulsi before the Lanerolle Commission.

My comment is only an assumption: I think the President was fully in the know but in his own stupid way he thought he can embarrass the UNP Gov and strengthen his candidacy for President. Since he doesn’t have the support of the UNP or SLPP he is trying his best get a foothold. He thought he could arrive from Singapore projecting himself as a saviour of the country. I think the IGP is being implicated. The IGP might have kept the President informed. Even if he hasn’t the President has known it from elsewhere. His body language from the 21st of April is a dead give away. He strategy has backfired on him again. MS is a goofing fool.

On the other hand RW might have known because it was designed to keep him out and embarrass him. Although I say this, RW cannot absolve himself from the incident. Leaders have to be very shrewd and know who their enemies are. RW has been given enough warning signs in the past to know that MS has been trying to trip him from last year, commencing with the no confidence motion and as recent as the coup led by the President. RW is too passive as a leader and continues to letdown people who support him. He has to rule with an iron fist or he should step down. He should stop giving interviews to the foreign media as he his making an ass of himself. We have had enough of both MS and RW.

This does not mean that Gota or MR are the options we have left. They too have blood on their hands. A lot of blood from the past and even in the incidents of 21/04. They knew but also chose to keep quiet. Because for them it is their personal interest and well being first as a family before the well being of the country. God help Sri Lanka as we are running out of options for a GOOD LEADER.

Lastly I think a powerful far eastern nation has had a hand in this and MR and Gota were all well informed ahead.

The world certainly has turned itself up side down. Ultimately it is the same God they all Pray to. It is beyond any sensible reasoning behind to figure out the justification, to massacre in the name of the very same God, several hundreds of innocent, a group of people while in the act of solemnly worshiping the same Lord. It was an act of total insanity. The psychiatrists of the world must delve into the subject how and why or who is behind driving the perpetrators to total insanity. Conversely, if it had been the House of Bandits by the Lake Diyawanna instead of the sacred places of worship the madmen attacked, there certainly would be celebrations on the streets. Now it is the turn of all of the Members of the House of Parliament to unanimously pass a motion to impeach the President.

Why did Sira go to Singapore, Did he do a Bandula mama act while checking on his investments.
Why did Sira hold all these ministries if he can’t do his job, this idiotic puppet is on Maras strings…
There’s lot of venomous speeches going on public media, social media and nothing is being done rather than going behind the innocent citizens.
We should pray that he won’t bungle it up to make it another July 83…
Please don’t make a mess and make Srilanka a Syria. If you are not confident give the country to Cardinal Ranjith who did an excellent job..
    God bless Srilanka..

“Sirisena left the country with his family to Thirupathi to obtain the blessings for his Son Daham’s impending wedding.”

Oh! It would end up in a divorce. May all the souls rest in peace

Why to be surprised. I myself have read a man to have been pregnant and gave a birth to a healthy child two years ago in the states.
Why you guys seem to have not read it. With our President the silliest could happen that easily. He does not seem to care anything to nation, but to him.
And I also ready, this had been done by Mahind Jarafukse; though you would not surprise him to have involved there right Makiyo.
