Despite speculations that President Maithripala Sirisena would be removed from the party leadership, the President tightened his grip on the party yesterday by obtaining a court order to prevent the Central Committee from meeting without his approval.
Colombo District Court issued a restraining order against the convening of the Central Committee of the SLFP without the permission of the head of the party.
The move was against the Party Secretary Anura Priyadarshana Yapa’s attempt to convene a Central Committee meeting on Wednesday night at the Sri Lanka Foundation Institute to discuss about President Sirisena’s special statement on Tuesday. Yapa said over one third of the SLFP Central Committee members requested him to convene a meeting to discuss about the matter.
Meanwhile, four new electorate organizers of the Sri Lanka Freedom Party received their letters of appointment from President Maithripala Sirisena yesterday.
According to the announcement made by the President’s Media Division, Nirupama Rajapaksa has been appointed as the Chief SLFP organiser for the Mulkirigala Electorate; Victor Anthony Perera for the post of Chief SLFP Organiser of the Puttalam Electorate; Thilak Waragoda as the Chief SLFP organiser for the Kelaniya Electorate and R.P.Thusitha Kularatne as the Chief SLFP Organiser for the Bulathsinhala Electorate.
None of the new electorate organizers appointed by Sirisena are supporters of former President Rajapaksa.

When the people of a Country have been used to been spoon fed for too long it is is not possible to bring changes ,and why should such a segment of the population want changes that will force them to give up their life long easy livelihood?
I knew good governance is like the term socialism very perfect to hear all about it ,but never practical to endorse it in a third world Country where the larger segment of the people have set their mind at being wholly Subsidies families .

The state can not go on doing things to people what they can do by themselves forever, The state duty is to create a conducive atmosphere where all people can work and live without fear,with equal opportunities and this can be achieved by continuous peopleisation of state sectors , and it will be safer to reach out for advice of friendly nations around the globe who has succeeded in a system and have the experience and also is willing to guide and support.
It is rather better to reach out to a once third world nation who has a tried ,proven and succeeded system,rather than try experiments ,where we the people end up as guinea pigs .
