Sirisena’s Delusions Of Power

By Sarath De Alwis

Sarath De Alwis

They hail me as one living,

But don’t they know

That I have died of late years,

Untombed although?

I am but a shape that stands here,

A pulseless mould,

A pale past picture, screening

Ashes gone cold.

….. Yet is it that, though whiling

The time somehow

In walking, talking, smiling,

I live not now.

~ Thomas Hardy’s Dead Man Walking

Maithripala Sirisena, the sixth executive president is the ‘title’ and the subject of this essay. Dead man walking is a euphemism for a person trapped in an untenable position and is about to lose his exalted roost.

Fifteen days after the carnage on Easter Sunday, President Maithripala Sirisena appeared before parliament on Tuesday 7th May.

With ill-disguised condescension he told parliament “I am the sixth person to hold this office”. Oh! Didn’t you know that? Was the implied refrain?

Then with unbelievable audacity and brutal contempt he posed his damning rhetoric – Am I the first president under whose watch bombs exploded?

His spine-chilling gambit has a logic and a purpose. He has convinced himself that he bears no responsibility for the blood bath.

The ‘whisper’ or the implicit message is clear. Come October, he intends to seek a second term. Self-delusion is not his exclusive preserve. There are others.

The Indian intelligence warning reached our powers that be on 4th April. On 16th April Sirisena left the island on his pilgrimage to the Tirumala temple to perform the ‘Suprabhatha’ ritual and offer prayers to the presiding deity of Lord Venkateswara in the early hours of Wednesday 16th April. He returned in the early hours of 22nd April via Singapore.

That makes him the first president who was out in Singapore, shopping with his immediate and extended family, when terrorists struck multiple points in a coordinated attack with the highest toll on human lives in a single day in this benighted land.

He is the first President and Minster of Defense who left the island when the state he presides over had already received a serious warning from our Giant neighbor India whose spying technology is as good as its ability to explore outer space. To India, Islamic fundamentalist terror is more than a ‘thinkable threat’. It is an unthinkable threat. To Indian Intelligence agencies, Islamic fundamentalism is an imminent, immediate and real threat.

Intelligence throws light on what exists but obscure. A rather complex proposition to a ‘Grama Sevaka’ mind conditioned to catch the culprit with the bunch of bananas. (I deeply regret voting for the swan on 8th January 2015).

Sirisena is the first President who alleged that an Intelligence arm of the Indian state was hatching a conspiracy to eliminate a serving president of Sri Lanka.

He is the first president who swore in the Leader of the Opposition as the Prime minster with no notice to the incumbent Prime minister in a cloak and dagger operation.

He is the first President whose executive act of dissolving parliament was held as unconstitutional by the Supreme court.

He is the first President to claim that an action held to be unconstitutional was undertaken with a mind of untainted purity – ‘Sathbhavayen’ with advice from Erudite lawyers who were also President’s Counsel.

He is the first President of Sri Lanka who got our permanent representative to the United Nations to vacate his seat for his son to watch ‘papa’ addressing ‘universal mankind’.

As for ‘firsts’, President Maithripala Sirisena has carved his niche in the history of our dysfunctional democracy.

It was scary listening to him in parliament on Tuesday. Politically speaking he is dead as a dodo. Mahinda Rajapaksa will not agree to make him the anti UNP common candidate.

It was scary to watch a man elected to high office with the hopes of six million two hundred thousand men and women explaining the inexplicable.

It was agonizing in the wake of the carnage of Easter Sunday to listen to a man totally dead inside no longer feeling any sadness but driven only by an agenda to cling on to power.  I am expressing my opinion. Criticism is not mudslinging.

To be alive and unfeeling? It’s impossible for me to contemplate that it is a natural condition of a politician in the pursuit of power. It is frightening. Hence my resort to the poetic description of Thomas Hardy’s ‘walking dead man’.

The dead man is “untombed” and merely a “shape that stands here,” a “pulseless mould.”

Rewind dear reader to the house proceedings last Tuesday. The house listened in detached discomfort. The members were singularly conscious of the unfeeling of the speaker.

This writer believes in Hobbes’s dictum that the purpose of the state and the role of the president of a state is to prevent ‘war of every man against every man’.  In that sense this President is politically finished. But finished men don’t feel pain.

As Thomas Hardy voices in profound poetry, he is nothing more than “a shape that stands there.”

That the shape stands there is the work of the self-obsessed super strategist Ranil Wickremesinghe – another subject of another essay for another day.

The nation now awaits the key findings of the  special three-member committee appointed to probe the Easter Sunday terror attacks.

The President has promised that it will be made available to all parties. If it is not doublespeak, all parties should include ‘we the people.’

There is a question that demands an unambiguous answer. We were warned of the possible attacks. Why didn’t we stop them?

There are questions that need to be answered by either the committee of inquiry or by the defense establishment headed by the President.

What was the routine and standard operating procedures adopted after receiving the first warning and subsequent updates from the Indian agencies?

What was the form of the existing organization and most importantly the role of the key decision makers in the organization?

The nation awaits with bated breath to learn how decisions were made by policy actors and operational actors.

What is most vital to know, is the truth that explores “the influence of unrecognized or undeclared assumptions upon the thinking” that led to the first official knee jerk response that the magnitude of the disaster exceeded their threat assessment.

Such blunders are not triggered by a unitary actor such as the Defense Secretary or an IGP partial to parade his proclivity to act the bozo. His present stance indicates that beneath the bozo lies a brave spirit. We must await unfolding events.

There should have been   some discussions on the reports received and some bargaining of ideas within the organization structure that reaches up to the commander in chief.

Gotabaya Rajapaksa put in place an efficient intelligence outfit. Robert Blake is right. It served the state in fighting the war against terrorism.

After the war GR abused it for political purposes which again is a different subject to be explored another day.

Efficient or otherwise our intelligence mechanism was politicized and key individual decision makers with varying degrees of influence shaped the organizational actors.

The President has already briefed us about his cultural disconnect with Prime minster Wickremesinghe.

Hemasiri Fernando is the president’s personal pick.

Just as he holds Ranil to be responsible for his selection of Arjuna Mahendran, the President is responsible for replacing Secretary Waidyaratne with Secretary Fernando.

It is possible that Sirisena’s cultural connectivity with the suave cosmopolitan Hemasiri Fernando was not based on a bonhomie as strong as his cultural intimacy with some other good people in the defence outfit whose unalloyed native instincts managed to stir deeper heart strings in the simple peasant mind.

We already know that Hemasiri was capable of discerning the distinction between the ‘Ranaviruwa’ and the Mineemaruwas. A distinction on which Sirisena had his own convoluted views.

In the business of Sate Security and Intelligence gathering I tend to agree with Graham Allision the Harvard Don whose seminal study ‘Essence of Decision’ based on the Cuban Missile crisis is now a standard text book on national intelligence and crisis management.

Decision makers in the inner sanctums of intelligence have different perceptions, priorities, commitments and organizational positions. Where you stand depends on where you sit.

We can only hope that the committee of inquiry has determined who sat where and who stood up to what and when ?

I’m not prone to violence. Not even verbal-violence (Native Vedda, take note and let it be an example :)) )

But I can kill this bastard Sirisena ………. enjoying and relishing every instance of sinking my fingers into his neck

And if Buddha, the great teacher of pacifism, gets in the way I’ll kill him too …….

And I’m supposed to have been taught lessons in morals and ethics and decency and manners and well-rounded education and ……………

“But I can kill this bastard Sirisena ………. enjoying and relishing every instance of sinking my fingers into his neck”

Now I understand your logic of justifying murder. You are not alone in sharing/exchanging/justifying violence only on occasions that you define. The argument goes like this, “I don’t believe in violence but he/she/they deserved to be thought a lesson”.

Do you think Hopper Sirisena would electorially benefit if he unleashed his own thugs on minorities, especially under his sons leadership?

      RE: Sirisena’s Delusions Of Power

“Maithripala Sirisena, the sixth executive president is the ‘title’ and the subject of this essay. Dead man walking is a euphemism for a person trapped in an untenable position and is about to lose his exalted roost. “

Thanks for the succinct essay on Sirisena, the sixth executive president, JR’s ghost.
Amarasiri for over the years has conferred the Titles of Traitor, Sevalaya (sleaze), Pachaya (liar), Mala-Perethaya ( living off the dead) , which your outstanding write-up confirms.

“The ‘whisper’ or the implicit message is clear. Come October, he intends to seek a second term. Self-delusion is not his exclusive preserve. There are others.”
Let’s bust Sirisena and other egocentrics. Let us get Field Marshall Sarath Fonseka as the common candidate, and put all of them to rest.

“He is the first President and Minster of Defense who left the island when the state he presides over had already received a serious warning from our Giant neighbor India whose spying technology is as good as its ability to explore outer space.”
Courtesy J R Jayawardena’s executive presidency, the madman described by the late Dr. N. M Perera.

Oh, Land of the stupid, where stupidity is a virtue!

He is the first President, the first President ,……., to f**k the populace wholesale.

Why is the parliament just waiting without impeaching Sirisena? Oh, Land of the stupid, where stupidity is a virtue?

He has developed a very clever tactic of pretending to be a patient listener but, it is now clear the intention of the tactic is to evade the exposure of his stupidity.

Those who wants Ranil to go home and hand over the country to the Rajappaksa, quite many may not know what is in store for them, Although the Rajapaksas denied any involvement, it is an open secret how the Rajapaksas allowed thousands of Muslim families to settle in Wilpattu clearing the forest reserve and also cutting a road through Wilpattu named after Basil to facilitate these settlers. Further the Rajapaksa has also permitted to construct a Shariya University in Katankudy Batticaloa under their rule before 2015. A video clip claiming that it is they who permitted to construct over 240 Mosques is in circulation in Social Media. This sudden attack in the country on the Easter Sunday, one need not be a rocket Scientist to understand who is at the bottom of it and who are the beneficiaries in the event the Govt is toppled after the failed coup attempt last October. Currently these very schemers are spreading a fear psychosis among the parents not to send the children to school. In this regard Bishop Malcolm Ranjith is playing a major role and it is not difficult to understand whose brief he is carrying, after rushing to congratulate MR after his appointment as PM of the 52 day govt. They want the country to come to a grinding halt to get their man Gota appointed as the leader, preferably without having to face an Election. What baffles me at the moment is after Gota made public his interest to come forward to contest the up and coming Presidential Election and stating that he is no longer an American citizen that permits for him to contest within a matter of two to three days after the incident on the 21st is from the horses mouth itself.

Gamini, this and all the other things the Rajapakses did are true. But why didn’t Yahapalanaya reverse them when they came to power? What have RW and MS been doing all these years?

“Yahapalanaya reverse them when they came to power? What have RW and MS been doing all these years?”

        1. Ranil has to keep looking over his shoulder as there was a need for him to walk on tightrope.

        2. Has Ranil seriously charged and punished anyone for crimes committed by Mahinda’s clan and cronies?

3.In the last four years how many of the Ranavirus have been investigated, found guilty and punished for war crimes?

        4. What has happened to UN resolutions? Was there any punitive actions taken against the country by global players?

        Taraki,

All these and other open murders and frauds committed then were obviously not dealt with because there was no unity in the Coalition Govt. Johnstan Fernando is a case in point. Had Ranil tried to deliver Justice single handedly, he would have been History by now. So he has to tread very cautiously till he gets the grip firmly. It is easily said than done.

        Manel,

What baffles me is the sudden presence of Robert Blake on the scene, promoting Gota. Are the Americans trying to pull the rug under the feet of Ranil for the third time? First time after Ranil signed the Peace Accord Liam Fox got an undertaking from CBK that she will not rescind the Agreement. India got a written commitment from CBK that she will not dissolve Ranils govt. But did India utter a word when CBK dissolved the govt of Ranil? No. Next Ranil thought that he could win the Presidency in 2005. The Americans and the Indians together got VP to derail. MR won with a 180,000 votes. The number in the South Vote that were disenfranchised including 4 votes of my family where our names after voting for over thirty years was erased from the Register, totaled more than 400,000 according to the Register kept at Ranil’s office at Cambridge Place, when I informed what had happened. Will the Americans pull the rug out of Ranil’s feet again at the next PE?

“Will the Americans pull the rug out of Ranil’s feet again at the next PE?”

Subramanian Swamy has already started the process of bringing back the clan when Mahinda was invited to Delhi and given an unprecedented lavish welcome by the BJP. If the coup didn’t backfire we do not know what would have happened.

Timing of Gota’s praise of Hindians (helping the war effort) only raises more questions than they answer.

I do not believe the Easter Sunday Bomb Blasts have anything to do with Gota however it would help him to whip up fear among the people, which always help the would be strong man to sell his credentials.
He has already told people he would run train on time.

      Gamini ,

You have said what i really wanted to say , it’s obvious as to who are the architects of these both evil cults (BBS and TJ…) ! The architects of these cults wanted to have them under their control , but quite unexpectedly they had to pack their bags and go home. of course after the good governance came in to power , neither the president nor PM paid any special attention for the country’s security as the peace was already restored .In the mean time ,These blood thirsty monsters were busy plotting to destroy the entire country with some foreign assistance. of course our current clown president is no match for this type of calamity, he got caught off guard ! Now this power hungry , selfish, incompetent moron has no easy escape route ;thus, trying to buy some time hiding behind a commission report. As to our new hero of the nation , Cardinal , whose hidden agendas are obvious , wants his old boss back in power ASAP;hence, he is doing every thing possible to fulfill his mission. When the bullet proof car was sent to him , he immediately refused and returned it to score some brawny points before the gullible masses . Current rulers provided the adequate security for him taking the enormous security threat that he is posing , what a gesture in return from the cardinal ? Derana , Hiru and Sirasa as usual busy on their gutter reporting to bring back their desired politicians . Gota the father of the white van suddenly gave an interview to show the SL masses that he only can eradicate this menace for once and for all ;accordingly , most of the gullible masses have taken his bait without thinking twice .

You have hit the nail on the head, Gamini!
I was of the same view two weeks ago and I am now more convinced that the invisible hand behind this carnage is Gota, the Mastermind. Yes, the Cardinal is throwing oil on fire by attacking the Government, which he shouldn’t do as a religious person. Where was his grief and sorrow during the previous regime when White Vans roamed the streets? The private media controlled by Rajapaksha proxies are also doing their utmost to scare the public and create uncertainty. Considering all that’s happening now, makes one wonder whether the swords being found in their hundreds have been planted to scare the people.

Sarath, no point in blaming Sirisena but we have to blame ourselves for putting this square pug in the round hole. All his actions demonstrate that he is not fit by any measure to hold that office, and he should leave it for the sake of the country and the people. The longer he stays there, more the damage he is going to make, so please go for good.

I find it hard to contain my anger over those who brought this mad ass to power. Those who fooled 6.2 million voters with most virulent propaganda that he was Jesus Christ/Diyasena Kumaraya/Personification of ‘Maitree’ true to his name which is the same as of next Buddha etc. etc. to lead their righteous journey towards ‘Yahapalana’ a term coined with the most malicious intention of fooling the masses (remember how Dharmista Samajaya came to an end?). Those in the know, particularly Ranil Wickramasinghe, knew well of his phycological profile. He needed a , unprincipled, lowly , meek man on president’s chair so that he can carry over his machinations unhindered. (Remember how he got SB Dissanayake-another stinking scoundrel, another Secretary of SLFP, to cross over and breakup Chandrika government?)
Now everyone has distanced himself from the lunatic and pretending to have been fooled with no shame. To be fooled by a nincompoop like Sirisena – my foot?
This is a crooked game gone awry. Things didn’t work out exactly according to their plan resulting in the dire situation we are in.
Now IF the split between Wickramasinghe and Sirisena was the cause of the security lapse that is no minor matter. Who should bear the responsibility or take the blame for this catastrophe – the lunatic himself or those who brought a lunatic to power? Anti Rajapaksa propagandists like Sarath Alwis are the main share holders of the sin. Well, they KNEW he was a lowly man, the very characteristics they made use of in 2015 but they never imagined he was SUCH a lowly, capricious man. Ranil who has had no chance of siting on President’s chair probably underestimated the unfathomable greed that this majic chair can create.

Mahinda Rajapkse could have done lot of work. He was just lucky and won the war. Other than that, he was dithering, manipulating and was exploiting the war Success the everyway possible.
some countries collect Gold when they get rich. Sri lanka Five tons of gold that was bought from IMf was sold again to get more loans. Thos loans are also expensive. Instead we could have got cheaper keeping gold as collateral. Mahinda Rajapakse did lot of wrongs just like Ranil. those are hiding.

Sarath , this is one of the best articles I read On elaborating personalities who are responsible for this tragedy. You should have also mentioned more about RW and the other 224 members of parliament. Being responsible as well . However I would like you to write a similar article on the Failure of Ranil Wickremadinghe In his political journey. How he has craftily managed to stay in the UNP as the longest serving opposition leader and also the proponent of bringing Sirisena to power as you quite rightly mentioned with our franchise to elect a suitable candidate. Ranil Wickremesinghe is the most unproductive dysfunctional leader ever. I hope you could write his political calories and debacles in his political career. The irony of it he is the sitting prime minister as well. God help The Sri Lankan people!!!

Does anybody know how specific the intelligence was ?

Was it a general warning like ” expect an attack from Muslim extremists” or were more specific intelligence, the culprits, the safe houses, the targets known ?

Have we received such warnings before and nothing happened ?

I just finished reading D B S Jeyraj’s take on what happened to Zahrans Family in Samanthurai , which is 34 Kilometers from Batticolao.

Zahran came to Colombo and joined Ibrahims to demolish the Holy Churches in Kochikade and Negambo with hundreds of devotee dead and maimed on their holiest day.

If Dr Ranil had given Batti to Assath Sallys, Bathudeens, Hezbullas Mujibur Rahumans to Self Rule with their own Police and Land Rights, you think our Army Commander would have sent the Commandos to check what was going on in Samanthurai?.

If not for Sirisena and the untiring efforts of the SLPP , thankfully Dr Ranil was restrained.

If Sira wasn’t there, granting Self Rule in the North and the East would have been a Cake Walk for Dr Ranil, specially with that 50 Million Santhosams on Offer to the Devottees in Kotte.

On the balance of probabilities , Dr Ranil knew about the Intelligence more than Sirisena.
And even without the 3 Member Commission our inhabitants are aware of it.

Now those inhabitants have a better than even chance to piss off Dr Ranil as well as Sira.
And elect Leaders who will provide safety and security for them as well as re develop the Country, while keeping it in One Piece..
And I am happy that the Cardinal is on their side.

Sarath, Thank You so much for articulating my thoughts, in your succinct words , which I am incapable of doing self. Today you told us about the role MS played, in this self created human tragedy. Hope there will be another telling us about Rajapaksas, who are the mastermind and using MS (who has passed his expiry date) as a tool. After failing the constitutional coup they have decided to go back to their old tactics (race/religion) which had worked in past, without failure. It is not surprising for MS to say he is not the first , because he gave the same excuse to the foreign press when asked about accountability. If US and French leaders did not resign after a ISIS attack why should I”. He also promised to wipe out ISIS before ELECTIONS (note the wording) . Gotha said after elections. So it is all about elections and how to further turn the tragedy into votes. You call them politicians ???? who have NO remorse, civility or basic human decency and still behaving arrogant, callous and grossly apathetic. They continue to do so because of their F – – – – N fan base which keeps cheering and holding banners . And then they call them self a “Buddhist Country.”

Efficient or otherwise our intelligence mechanism was politicized and key individual decision makers with varying degrees of influence shaped the organizational actors.

*** I know you have total admiration for GR who in my my view was a killer nachine and nothing more. Dont bring Blake into this and we know he will write anything if you pay him a few thousand rupees. . Let us get this into perspective.

Delusions of power . You are deluded in your belief of Gothas abilty. In my view he is a failed Businessman in the USA ( by the way not a Partiot because he abandoned his Country for US Natioanilty) and returned to mint state money when the opportunity arose. Dont beat the drum that GR won the war. It was Indian Inteligence and help with Chemical Weapons which won the War.

If GR had an efficient Intelligence Outfit did the following happen with his blessing.

    1) Killing of Lasantha
    2) Killing of Thajudin

The answer must be yes. I dont want to disappoint you but he is not coming back as he is on DEATH ROW. Look at his Cousin in American Jail waiting to be brought to Court. MS is not the first and wont be the last to put the flames out. It is burning out of control.

If the problems of the Tamils could have been looked into an solved at least partially. by releasing the Political prisoners, Lands and Stopping the colonization by the so called yhapalanaya government as Promised prior to the elections, the atmosphere may not have been supportive of Muslim Terrorist attack, Instead the government appointed a ‘leader of the opposition’ Sampanthar) who became a part of the government with his MP’s.
Thus the government was complacent about the prevailing situation. The government was in a euphoric state, that they have bought over the Tamil opposition by giving them perks and positions. Thus Sampanthar and Sumanthiran mislead the government to the effect that every thing was fine with the Tamils and there was no need to look for other ‘enemies’. When in fact ,the Muslims made hay while the sun shone led by Hisbulla and Rishard who were their pet dogs.
When a pet dog bites it is hard to understand why. Hitherto they were happy with the bones thrown at them but with the passage of time they were looking for flesh and was partly successful in ‘biting into it’. It is said ‘Ask and You Shall Receive’ but ‘His and Rish’ took what ever the wanted with or without the knowledge, but mostly with their knowledge and the Government turned a blind eye .The government let go despite being questioned by the public, to Save Votes. No wonder, despite being informed of the possible attacks no attempts were made to diffuse it.
Sampanthar (From East) and Sumanthiran (From North) too were only concerned about their lost position and perhaps busy with licking their wounds .
“Nadorum Nadi Muraiseiya Mannavn Nadorum Nadu Kedum” (Thiruk Kural) meaning, (Unless a ruler asses the good and the bad daily and be aware of it, the ruler will continue to lose his country slowly but steadily). This exactly what is happening to Srilanaka..

What concerns me is not ‘Sirisena’s delusions of power’ – as I see it, there is no need for him to have any delusions of power – because in fact, as President, he already has considerable power – that’s real power with nothing delusional about it. Maybe, he has delusions of grandeur but that’s another matter. What worries me is the potential for misuse and abuse of so much power in Sirisena’s hands, clearly, in the hands of someone who has demonstrated he cannot be trusted to use it with good judgement and integrity.

Bits of crap you collect from phone tapping will not take you anywhere., apart from earning a few crumbs from the Hymies.!

Over and over again with or without guidance from his advisers the President has misused his powers. If he had been informed of this attack it is a very serious situation that the Parliament, on behalf of the people has to address. So many lives have been sacrificed for his lack of responsibility, his callousness or sheer disregard of the fact that these were places of christian worship. If he cannot be removed from his executive role, can the Parliament, acting within the Constitution ensure that his powers are curtailed or monitored by a responsible body?. We the people endured the October 2018 fiasco with great patience and calm. And now the scenario, where he has kept the Prime Minister and the Deputy Minister, Defense away from attending the meetings and ignored such a serious warning from a creditable source! Clearly, he lacks the ethical and moral responsibility and the knowledge and prudence a leader needs.

Gamini: Thank you for your comment. The people must be constantly reminded of the “PLOT” of “Rajapakse & Co, Inc.” to grab power (like that of October 20th 2019) at any cost (Life & Property loss on 21st April 2019) because all of them have an “Agenda” (a secretive) of their “OWN”; but not that of the PEOPLE.. I mentioned in an earlier comment, that “UNCALLED” for remark of Rev. Melcom Ranjith, when he met MR & Co. It is a reminder to all the religious leaders to refrain from either “Directly” or “Indirectly” be supportive of any of the Political Leadership and their cohorts. These “Religious Leaders” must NOT embark on a mission to increase the “FLOCK”. We already experienced the NET RESULTS of that attempt on 21st April 2019. Instead, preach , practice and lead others on the “DHARMA” (Teachings) and nothing else. That will help to turn around things from the present.

Mabel Akka, I fully agree with Kali. The best journalist Sri Lanka has ever produced is Frederica Jansz.

    It’s time she came back.

WE the People in our desperation to kick-out the rogues that had festered the Rajapaksa regime then saw Sirisena as our shining white knight who was going to deliver yahapalanaya. How sad that now we have to swallow the bitter pill of disappointment.

Sirisena, Wickremasinghe, and about 25 others in this government have let the country down, big time. If a posse of people-vigilantes were to put this lot in a gunny bag and throw them in the Kalu Ganga, I would caution anyone trying to save them.

How/why is it that Lord Venkateswara has misled/failed to warn, many important politicians?
Why do politicians who are devotees of Lord Buddha, pray to Lord Venkateswara?

Where was Cardinal Malcom during the July 83 riots? Why didn’t he speak on behalf of those Tamils
who never had anything to do with LTTE or any Militants. Why is he crying foul now?

36 years ago (1983) Malcolm Ranjith was simply nobody. He was studying in Rome Theology. He was neither Cardinal or Archbishop.
