Speaker Signs OMP Bill

Speaker Karu Jayasuriya today signed the Office of the Missing Persons Bill, thereby making it a valid Act, the Speaker’s Office announced today.

Speaker, Karu Jayasuriya

Speaker, Karu Jayasuriya

The move comes despite claims by the Joint Opposition MPs who said that the legislation was passed violating both the Constitution and the Standing Orders of Parliament.

On August 11, the Office of the Missing Persons Bill was passed in Parliament without a vote. The Bill was passed amidst continuing verbal protests by members of the Joint Opposition, who claimed that the Bill contained dangerous provisions and can be a risk to the national security and unity.

It has a very bad taste to thiink, that in Sri Lanka the patriots are only in the socalled JO Opposition and all other citizens are sellouts. Or may be the JO-oposition is trying to save the culprits, MR & GOTA who sabotaged throughout their rule “the national security and unity” by patronizing BBS, Grease Yaka, white vans and so on. They start seeing the boogy man in every nook and corner.

      Dear Speaker, Karu Jayasuriya

“The Bill was passed amidst continuing verbal protests by members of the Joint Opposition, who claimed that the Bill contained dangerous provisions and can be a risk to the national security and unity”

You have a Parliament of… Baboons!, and you have a tough job to handle these Joint Opposition Baboons. Does the Head Baboon MaRa show up?

The English language has some wonderfully anthropomorphic ,collective nouns for the various groups of animals.
We are all familiar with, a Herd of cows, a Flock of chickens, a School of fish, a Gaggle of geese, and a Pride of lions.

      However, less widely known is:
A Joint Opposition of Baboons in Parliament, in Sri Lanka, occupied by the Paras.

Now consider a group of Baboons, the Joint Opposition.

They are the loudest, most dangerous, most obnoxious,
most viciously aggressive and least intelligent of all primates..

And what is the proper collective noun for a group of baboons, Joint Opposition?

Believe it or not … A Parliament, the Sri Lankan Parliament!

..A PARLIAMENT OF BABOONS! Pretty much explains everything about the Joint Opposition, doesn’t it?

Thanks for signing the OMP Bill. Looks like only you were there.

Can we now add the list of missing persons? Where do we start?

Gota, Sri Lanka’s most notorious white van goon and the so called self-claimed war hero undermined our National Security. First and foremost, OMB should be applied to unearth the mysteries surrounding the disappearance of over 50 journalists including Eknaligoda and Lasantha that were engineered by this uneducated White van goon who deserted the war at its height and lived as a refugee in US working in a gas station.

Anyone calling Gota “the war hero” is a pure traitor!!

      Nimal,

It is a pity that whoever is responsible for white vans failed to send one to pick an ungrateful guy like you. Sri Lanka is better off without people like you. Ekneligoda, Lasantha compromised the security of the country for $$$s. Do you know how USA treat that kind of traitors? No sympathy at all. If it is not for President Rajapakse and Gotabaya, still those Tamil terrorists will be butchering innocent civilians. The problem is Ranil and Chandrika cannot come to terms with the achievement of ‘Godayas’ who came from Medamulana. A large majority of Sri Lankans treat them as War Heroes. If you can’t accept that fact get lost.

The joint opposition should not have been allowed to interfere with parliamentary procedure, shows the power they have or they have been given.

It is a violation of the Constitution to pass a bill without proper debate, and without a vote, as we have seen it admitted from the video recordings today.

Another instance of the ruling party making itself look like manipulating thugs, totally unnecessary since there would have been enough votes for it to pass.
