A further reason why the Rajapakse family must place the resolution of the National Question as their foremost priority. Till now they are playing it hot and cold – depending on their moods and when they find the time away from their venal pecuniary pursuits. It is time they realise the cauldron globally is getting hotter against them.
They can begin by allowing the North the PC elections with little intimidation or participation by the army or the armed thugs of their proxies. If this is allowed, they will be released from the burden of being responsible for the development and running of this predominantly Tamil-speaking area – subject to sufficient financial allocations being made to the NPC.

They were never rapturous. They were confused as to what the hell she was saying and applauded that she had stopped. The speech in Tamil was full of grammatical mistakes. She ain’t no ‘thamilechi”. She has learned well from Tamil Nadu politicians, how to use SL problems to get elected.
