These extremists are not helping the cause of Tamil-speaking people in Sri Lanka, nor those outside the country. They seem intent on glorifying the LTTE, turning a selectively blind eye to the atrocities (including against Tamils) by the Tigers.
Constantly repeating the spurious allegations of “genocide” against “Eelam Tamils” while neglecting to mention the forced expulsion and killing of Muslims and Sinhalese in the North and East during the “liberation struggle” as they call it, let alone the assassination of moderate Tamil leaders and the creation of suicide cults devoted to the protection of the LTTE leadership do not contribute to their credibility.
Also, when they talk about their “homeland” are they talking about the “Tamil Ealam” maps that claim two thirds of Sri Lanka’s coastline and almost half of its landmass?

Researcher Karthick came out the winner. He had a clinical approach. He is also right in the sense that if you get trapped talking LLRC and other consensus based approaches you will get trapped doing this forever. Yet none offer alternatives. The military option is out. Engaging with the GOSL is out. Speaking with westerners who are against the tigers is out. So what is the game plan? Just hanging about causing noise till some superpower decides to use your cause for their ends?

They’re so divorced from reality, it’s almost painful to watch. There’s absolutely no self-criticism or an honest examination of why 30+ years of violence failed to deliver Eelam etc.. The US and West will use them to put pressure on SL and discard them, much like MR uses an discards people in SL. A karapincha strategy..

Spot on Mango, Except for Karthick the other 2 don’t sound like they have spent much time in SL. I am still wondering why I watched this show. Perhaps because the two legged tigers are now an extinct species in SL. We have to go overseas to see this song and dance. Last week the Krishna pushed Frances Harrison so hard that she ended up basically telling the guy that he should not push his warped views on others.

Joking aside, GoSL have apparently started a dialogue with the Tamil disapora. The problem here is that anyone they talk with will be labelled a ‘traitor’ by these fantasists.
