By Visuvanathan Rudrakumaran –
It is a shame that a perpetrator of genocide the Sri Lankan President, is allowed to address a forum which adopted the convention on the Prevention and Punishment of The Crime of Genocide. It is a shame that a perpetrator of Crimes Against Humanity whose racist aggression which resulted in the killings of more than 100,000 people is allowed to address a forum which adopted the Rome Statute. It is a shame a war criminal is allowed to address a forum which promulgated the R2P.
We understand that his position as the Head of a member state of the UN allows him to sneak through the gates of the U.N. Thus in order to put an end to impunity, in order to ensure accountability, in order to protect the very integrity of the UN itself we call upon the UN Secretary General to appoint an International Commission of Inquiry in the exercise of his inherent power under Article 99 of the U. N. Charter.
At the same time we challenge the Sri Lankan President, in the name of justice, in the name of the rule of law, in the name of universal jurisdiction, not to hide behind the veil of Head of State immunity, not to hide behind the shield of U.N immunity, explicitly renounce those immunities and travel to any civilized country. This challenge is equally applicable to any leader of the Sri Lankan political military establishment.
Even if he doesn’t do it now, we can assure him that he will join the ranks of Pinochet, Charles Taylor, Fujimore and other violators of humanitarian and human rights laws.
Brother and sisters, our brethren back home even after the genocide, even while living in a state of terror, in a state of torture, disappearance, sexual violence have demonstrated that their quest for freedom cannot be suppressed by the Sinhala boots. They have demonstrated that we Eelam Tamils are a distinct nation, we Eelam Tamils have traditional homeland.
We Eelam Tamils posses the inherent right to self determination. We salute their bravery, we salute their steadfastness. Since their political space is restricted by the 6th Amendment, since their freedom of speech is restricted by the 6th Amendment, it falls upon the shoulders of the Diaspora to articulate our political aspirations fully.
Given the fact that more than 100, 000 Eelam Tamils were killed in Mullivaikal on account of their Tamil Nationality, given the fact that more than 90, 000 were made as war widows, we tell the international community, the time of reconciliation has passed. As Milton aptly said “never can true reconcilement grow where wounds of deadly hate have pierced so deep”. We tell our Sinhala brethren that we will have friendly relations based on sovereign equality.
Together, the Eelam Tamils, the Tamil Disapora and the Tamils across the globe, especially with our Tamil Nadu brethren we exercise our right to self determination in a remedial fashion. The call of the hour is remedial self determination. We call upon India to expedite this process based on same moral principle on which it contributed to the creation of Bangladesh.
The tide has started to turn. With globalization and technological innovation, the people’s power has been unleashed. The questions is not if. The question is when. With sacrifices, with dedication and determination, with tears and sweat through democratic and diplomatic means well establish Tamil Eelam in our lifetime.
The Thirst of Tamil is Tamil Eelam.
*Speech made by the Prime Minister of Transnational Government of Tamil Eelam (TGTE) at the Pongu Tamil rally – September 24th

What is he talking about. Strive for seperate state in Tamil Nadu. Dont ever dream of it in Sri Lanka. I am Sri Lankan Muslim and proud citizen of Sri Lanka will give my fullest support to the President and Prime Minister of Sri Lanka of which ever party maybe to maintain its territory and Sovereign Rights of Sri Lanka.

The attempt in India for a Tamil state failed. The attempt in Sri Lanka failed miserably. Next stop Canada for the ‘fantasy traditional homeland’?
/
Muralidaran Ramesh Somasunderam / October 2, 2013
You are a Muslim so I can understand your position.
Visuvanathan Rudrakumaran is totally correct that without India’s, including Tamil Nadu help and assistance the Sri Lankan Tamils cannot get anything, as the Sinhalese will not give anything to any minority group full stop. Therefore Visuvanathan Rudrakumaran is totally correct based on the Sinhalese majority people and their government who represents their interests in Sri Lanka.
I will conclude that Muslims in Sri Lanka who thought that they will escape the discrimination from the Sinhalese are getting a true taste of the majority medicine and will continue to get it until reality downs upon them that Sri Lanka is only for the Sinhalese and no one else.
When Sri Lanka got independence in 1948 the Tamils did not ask for a separate state. The Muslims in India asked and got a separate state, but the majority of Muslims remained within the Indian state.
The Tamils for their loyalty in Sri Lanka only got discriminatory legislation (like the Sinhala only act) and riots against their persons and property like what took place in 1983 where the government itself was involved.
The Tamils are subjected to the worst human rights abuses of the worst sort. The UN reports clearly prove this.
Hence, what alternative have the Tamils have? It is only if the Tamils in the North and East get a separate state and join the union of India will there be peace in the whole of Sri Lanka.

The more you espouse the cause of Eelam, the more the Sinhalese harden their stance and strengthen the hands of Mahinda Rajapaksa. Though the people are sick of what is going on here with law and order and rule of law collapsing and people suffering enormously due to economic downturn, poor governance, waste of money on useless projects, joblessness, mayhem, rowdyism, etc. etc. we see no hope of change of government because you make MR more popular among the Sinhala hardliners. So keep promoting your dream Eelam and this government will remain ever stronger and popular among the people at the grassroots. Only when you stop this nonsense and become realistic about your aspirations, will the people have some sympathy for your cause and begin to see reason in what you say.

So free thinker, rudra seems to be successful in his objective of making the sinhalese people suffer the same way the tamils suffered. You will have no choice but to keep electing the rascals and going down and down.

LTTE with its four Armed Forces could not create their Tamil Eelam. Now Rudrakumaran wants India to create Tamil Eelam in the same way it created Bangladesh. This is the very same people who were calling for the Indian government leaders to be hauled before the ICC alongside Rajapakse and the SL Army Generals for committing war crimes.
Had LTTE not started the fight against the IPKF they would have had self rule in North East Sri Lanka long time ago.
LTTE’s protege TNA is now asking the President to come to Jaffna to enable TNA Councillors to take oaths before him under the 6th Amendment to the SL Constition committing to uphold and defend the Constitution of the Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka and committing not to, directly or indirectly, in or outside Sri Lanka, support, espouse, promote, finance, encourage or advocate the establishment of a separate State within the territory of Sri Lanka.

Rudra,
“It is a shame a war criminal is allowed to address a forum which promulgated the R2P.”
Your hero VP was the biggest curse to your tamil race. Of the 100,000 deaths you mention vast majority was killed by your VP.
Try hard to fix MR, wish you good luck
/
shankar / October 2, 2013
“Of the 100,000 deaths you mention vast majority was killed by your VP.”
Ravi,he said killed in mullaivaikal, not the perid of war that you refer to.That is puzzling as the UN report says up to 40000.Is he disputing that?If so as the primeminister of the transnational govt he should have written to the UN disputing the 40000 and giving reasons to support his theory of 100000 dying in mullaivaikal. Why didn’t he do that?

In the event of a separate state declared in Northern and /or eastern province they would have to be annexed to Tamil Nadu and the Sinhala majority provinces now jointly called Sri Lanka will negotiate not with Tamil Eelam but the central government of India. As that which seceded from Sri Lanka will be joined to Tamil Nadu forming the greater Tamil state. If that is what Tamils want fine. There will be a proper partition and proper transfer of all relevant population
/
shankar / October 2, 2013
sinhala voice, are you really sinhlese?I doubt it.The tamils will grab that offer with both hands mate.Later on it will be easier to secede from tamilnadu and form their own indian state.I doubt tamilnadu will want to cling onto the sri lankan tamil territory if the tamils in srilanka want another state to identify themselves with as a separate people historically.Have you heard of the stepping stone theory you foolish man.The next step will be to secede from india itself.
Full implementation of the 13th amendment is the best way to go for the sinhalese. Some modayas are objecting and will have pay a much higher price one day because they could not see a good deal when it was there.
/
sinhala_voice / October 3, 2013
I am true Sinhalese my friend. This is the price that India will ad would have to pay if they promote ethnic separatism in Northern and Eastern province of Sri Lanka.
The maximum rights India will ever allow for the Tamils in Sri Lanka will be not a more than what the Tamils in Tamil Nadu enjoy.
This is the reality. So ALL those Tamil separatist MUST make a well informed decision.
As a Sinhalese Buddhist we can live very well in the provinces of Southern, Central, Western, North Central , North Western, Uva and Sabaragamuwa.
If you the Tamils don’t want to be a part of Sri Lanka then make it YOUR problem not ours.
But remember 48% of Tamils live in Southern, Central, Western, North Central , North Western, Uva and Sabaragamuwa..In case of separate state in Northern and Eastern province.
/
shankar / October 3, 2013
sinhala voice
I think you better check with your sinhala compatriots whether they are willing to allow the north and east to become part of tamil nadu and then come back to me otherwise we will be just talking about something that is just a pie in the sky.All tamils outside the north and east will be transferred to the north and east and all sinhalese in the east will be transferred out. This will be done in a very civilised manner under UN and indian supervision for a period of 6 years with full compensation.
If your compatriots say okay believe me i can arrange that for you and once and for all solve this problem for good.
/
Sinhala_voice / October 5, 2013
My point here is that north and East Tamil state will be annexed to Tamil Nadu whether Sinhala people like it or not. So the Sinhalese will be dealing with Indian Central government not Tamil Nadu or Tamil Eelam.
Why because , a separate Tamil state in Sri Lanka will lead to greater demand for separation from Indian Union by Tamil Nadu. So under those circumstances what would eventuate is annexation of Northern and eastern province of Sri Lanka to India.
So Tamils would have acted against the state Sri Lanka to create a greater Tamil Nadu. Not really because of any perceived discrimination but this is your ultimate goal , the desire the yearning a greater Tamil country…
If you want a Tamil country then make it in India not Sri Lanka. Tamil Nadu the home of 70 million Tamil speakers and the home of global Tamil cultural world view.

VR the faux “Prime Minister” of a faux “nation” is going madder by the day only because he has to earn his keep.
Funded and foisted by Tamil Diaspora funds his is indeed a fabulous job, travelling the world and doing the grand while chasing that illusory pot of Eelam Gold at the end of an equally illusory rainbow!!
No doubt this joker has a nuisance value, but to give him more credence than he deserves would be utterly misplaced.
Of course the international supporters of the so-called TGTE project are most probably equally well-provided for with Diaspora funds a la` Milliband and Kouchner of yesteryear. To put bluntly, money talks!
If SL honestly and seriously continues the development initiatives in the north and east, and provides an enabling environment for security, opportunity and prosperity of the citizenry, then use for this rabid idiot will fall by the wayside.

May be the ‘PM’ wants Wiggy to fail. May be he wants to prevent any possible chance of reconciliation and peace. Reconciliation is the last thing the Tiger supporters want. If Wiggy fails, the ‘PM’ can tell the world “We told you so. Eelam is the only answer”. Then he will hope for R2P or another VP. This sad middle-aged nobody in the autumn of his life, struts around with his dreams of grandeur.

Another thirsty Tamils was Pabakakran. He may have died while drinking salty and muddy water nathi-kadaal.
Getting rid of the world’s most ruthless terrorist organization is a war crime and a genocide.
For 30 years, by taking Cyanide capsules and by blowing up every where and by blowing up everything was Sathyagraha – Gandhi’s way ?
How come the Prime minister of TGTE talks about the sixth amendment ?
Is he into NPC ?

“Thus the violence of the oppressor silenced the non-violence of the oppressed; the armed might of Sinhala chauvinism crushed the ahimsa of the Tamils. This historical event marked the beginning of a political experience that was crucial to the Tamil national struggle, an experience that taught the Tamils that the moral power of non-violence could not consume the military power of a violent oppressor whose racial hatred transcends all ethical norms of humanness and civilized behaviour.
To the oppressor this event encouraged the view that military terrorism is the only answer to the Tamil demand and that the non-violent foundation of the Tamil political agitation is a weak and impotent structure against the barrel of the gun.” – Anton Balasingham in LTTE booklet “Liberation Tigers and Tamil Eelam Freedom Struggle”

One must wonder why western governments who have so generously permitted the likes of Rudrakumaran to settle in their countries, don’t kick these fellows out for engaging in political activities that in no way serve the national interest of those countries and serve to undermine the integrity and national interest of a friendly country, Sri Lanka. These fellows should have left their political battles behind when they chose to settle in other countries and should try, instead, to become good, law abiding and loyal citizens of the those countries. The people of those host nations do not want new political problems brought in from abroad, they do not like political agitators and rabble rousers in their midst. What the likes of Rudrakumaran also do is to make life awkward and uncomfortable for other Sri Lankans who have settled down in those countries and have chosen to become good citizens of those countries without being involved in the political problems in Sri Lanka.
