Rogue elements in the Police Dept had much to do in exacerbating the anti-Tamil pogroms of 1958, 1977 and 1983. These virtually brought the Govts of the day down in those years. Not much attention was paid to this because the victims were Tamils. And the cancer grew exponentially – to the current extent where many Police officials, even at the higher levels, have become men who are buyable. When the lower ranks in the force see their bosses become cheap crooks the service suffers very badly – and the public suffer enormously. A plural society in which its Police force becomes so unreliable and corrupt can no longer call itself a decent, democratic or civilised society. It is a situation in which the innocent people have to be protected from a dangerous and inefficient Police service. No Commissions of Inquiry will help because the political bosses themselves are crooks.

All benefits including the pension of AS should be suspended. If he is not found guilty then they could refund the money held otherwise throw him in jail.

Separately Thajudeen’s family should sue him for the pain and suffering caused by sabotaging justice for the loved ones.

Folks! Can’t you remember how this SOB behaved in front of cameras that is not in keeping with a norms relating to a senior Police Officer. He is the culprit behind all abuse of power by the Jarapaksa family. He is supposed to be a ‘Kalakaraya’. How on earth a singer could come to such low levels as holding PANDAM. He must be made come out with all dirty deals with Jarapaksas.
I agree with you Burt in regard to yr suggestion. The Thajudeen family must sue him for the loss of their dear one & ask for compensation as well as he has enough of ill gotten monies from Jarapaksa family.
