Tiran’s Maubima Newspaper Urges Govt To Block News Websites

The Maubima newspaper owned by businessman turned politician Tiran Alles, has called upon the government to censor and block news websites – which in their opinion – have been publishing false information in the wake of the announcement of Presidential polls.

Tiran

Tiran

In its editorial published yesterday (12), the writer has claimed that various organized groups in foreign countries have been increasingly planting false news items in and have been circulating such misleading information through social media sites including Facebook and Twitter.

Though no credible source has been quoted, the editorial claims that certain members of these various ‘conspirator’ groups operating from foreign countries have been managing about 300 accounts by each person, which have then been deployed to mislead internet users by feeding them false information.

The writer has gone on to state that although the government has on previous occasions taken measures to censor and block certain news websites following disclosures made by the Maubima newspaper on the ongoing ‘web mafia’, no action has been taken so far concerning the increase of false information being circulated among local internet users in target of the upcoming presidential polls.

Tiran Alles is a traitor in the mould of Sarath N Silva.

Although Tiran has assumed the dubious role of king-maker he is better described as a failed pimp.

He was vigorously promoting Ranil to be the Common Candidate but the rug was pulled from under him unceremoniously!

Now he is playing new games to save face and to serve his real masters.

It is no secret that the pathetic Tissa Attanayake is one of his lackeys, and no guessing who was behind his cross-over. Every rascal has a price but if the recent CT report is to be believed Tissa has been absurdly over-priced.

Come 9 January 2015, Tiran will surely get his comeuppance.

      Watch this space!

      Dear Hinnibanda,

How to access Colombo Telegraph or any blocked sites in Sri Lanka- Three options –

Option 1 – to access in Sri Lanka you need to change dns servers in your computer.

      You can use Google DNS:

      8.8.8.8
      8.8.4.4

      or open DNS servers:

      208.67.222.222
      208.67.220.220

Here is an article on how to do it:

      http://www.thewindowsclub.com/how-to-change-dns-settings-in…

      Option -2
Use Tor – it lets you access sites which are blocked.

      https://www.torproject.org/projects/torbrowser.html.en

      Option – 3 – use proxies
      A good list here: http://www.proxy4free.com/list/webproxy1.html

        Dear Fazl ,

its good to see you are trying to help Hinnibanda but please be mindful that revealing all the details in public domain is not an advisable method , why am i saying this ? now , perpetrators can start working to block the above mentioned methods as well , since you always leave your personal email at the end , why don’t you ask him/her to contact you privately.

PS: hope you are at good hands , look after yourself.

My friend..its not Rocket Science anymore..to access websites blocked by the govt… Using a proxy server enables u to access and hide ur IP as well. The Govt may try to suppress or oppress, but lil do they realize its actually working against them.. come Jan 9th.. SL will be a free country where rule of law will prevail… and the MR clan would be herded to the Hague..

      Try using proxy servers… eg: http://www.ninjaproxy.com http://www.ninjaproxy.ca

Shame on Tiran Alles for trying to suppress free speech. If the government has nothing to fear, they should not be afraid of what is written. Any government that blocks websites or bans them, cannot claim to run a democratic system of government. So far it seems the election is one sided, with the ruling regime running a one sided campaign. Even Dialog has bowed down to the Rajapaksa’s by running an election ad, showing what a “wonderful” leader we have, during the cricket matches. Maubima has lost it’s credibility.

Democracy does not mean having Elections so many times a Year.
Democracy means that every man Woman and Child has Freedom of Speech, Freedom of Access to Information, and the Freedom of Choice to Vote according to their Preference.

Thank you Fazl. I am using it from S/L and in this world of High Tech. no one can block anything. Only thing needed is a little initiative (which I get from my son) and you are through all those obstructions. The Govt. is doing it today from various places including the Temple Trees. The news is spreading that, there are a number of houses and buildings equipped with “High Tech.” computers and trained personnel from within and outside hired to “monitor” various aspects of the election and other related matters and it is suspected even the capabilities would be developed to “interfere” with the results. So, any “GILMART” could happen. It is time for the “Common Front” to be aware of the developments and BEWARE.

Tiran Alles is a disgrace to all publishers. His father was suppose to be a respected educator but this man never had any education. He is a wheeler dealer who would do anything for money. Mangala Samaraweera should never be forgiven for making a nobody a somebody.
He was sacked from Ananda for misconduct before he went to Royal. He is a man who likes to associate well connected people. Sajith will destroy himself politically if he continue to associate this rogue who’s only interest is money and money only.

Tiran Alles is a terrorist funder by his own admission. Can the bar association look into this and come up with what specific laws have been broken and what the sentence for abetting terrorism is? Putting all the crooks behind bars is essential if the opposition is serious about cleaning up this mess.

    The King is kaput.
Read on people A speech delivered by President Mahinda Rajapaksa over the weekend was cut-short following continous disruptions by the crowd. Rajapaksa, who was addressing a crowd in Dambulla, was forced to abandon his speech as members of the audience continued to disrupt him. According to eye-witnesses the President was forced to stop several times until the crowd grew silent before he continued. Finally Rajapaksa grew annoyed and announced that he could no longer continue his speech and that he would give way for them (the noisy audience members) to use the podium, he bid farewell to the crowd and left along with the rest of the contingent on the platform. Sources within the government denied that the President was forced to cut his speech short, but instead he finished early as he had another meeting to attend. Several weeks ago over 500 farmers from Dambulla protested along the main A9 road in Dambulla over the government’s decision to import big onions from India. According to P. R. Senajayakody, a local farmer, members of the government buying agencies had instructed them not to sell their produce as prices were expected to fall. However, when they went to sell their produce in the market they were told the government had imported onions and there was a surplus and so they would not be able to buy the locally grown onions. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=R-xTpr2bpCg
