Notorious for spewing hate among the Muslim and Sinhalese communities, Dan Priyasad along with three others were arrested today by the police, in connection to the mob attack on the Rohingya refugees at the UN safe house in Mount Lavinia on Tuesday.

A statement from the police headquarters said that a total of six suspects have been arrested including a woman. The four arrested on Saturday were Liyanage Abeyrathne Suresh Priyasad alias Dan, however according to the statement; Priyasad was 51 years although he is believed to be much younger. The other three arrested were; Paneetha Niroshan Deepage, Nawalage Don Chinthaka Sanjeewa and Nanayakkara Godakandha Kankanamlage Gayan Madhushanka Seneviratne.
Incidentally, and despite video evidence, the leader of the Sinhala Ravaya, Akmeemana Dayarathana who led the mob attack at the safe house continues to roam free.
Meanwhile, in a strange turn of events, the Bodu Bala Sena (BBS) in a statement issued on its Facebook page said that the Rohingya refugees should be dealt with humanity. The BBS said that supporting Myanmar Buddhists, defeating terrorism and protecting the rights of refugees were all different subjects. “We should not mix them without proper understanding and knowledge,” the BBS statement said. The group requested everyone to respect humanity and look through Buddhist perspectives.

Today there was a program in German TV.
Dog trainer had the control over 6-7 varied dogs on the stage. The trainer was a young girl not even 10 years old.

The monks are involving themselves in things that they shouldn’t concern themselves with.
If anything, they should encourage people to be tolerant and compassionate, rather than xenophobic.
The monks may destroy the organised Buddhist religion/institution in Sri Lanka, but who really needs it, when Buddhism is a philosophy that any individual can choose to follow. It doesn’t require temples or clergy, in reality.

Even though Gnanasara’s lawyers promised the courts he won’t talk to anybody in an insulting manner again, yesterday he had given an interviewed to a newspaper again insulting Islam & Christianity in profain language. This very same CCD is now investigating and taking these people into custody. Criminals arresting criminals so they can eye wash the UN & the international community, play out a little drama and set these rabid dogs free again. Screw yahapalana!

The BBS fat man, should be in jail by now, but then in Sri Lanka Buddhist monks spewing hate and terrorizing minorities, are always exempt from to being punished, or arrested. It is up to the Mahanayakes to condemn any saffron robed thug that goes against the teachings of Lord Buddha, and immediately disrobe them, and call them disgraceful. There is too much silence all around, from the leaders of this nation, to
the temples. Most Buddhists do not want their religion disgraced by thugs, and they want peace in the country.
Why are only the thugs taken in and not the monks? These are not representatives of the religion, they are scoundrels doing the bidding of evil, who want this country is disarray and communal strife. They should be made into examples, so that other well fed goons cannot go around the country causing fear to others. What are the authorities waiting for?

Why Muslim run Eastern Provincial Council is silent on this matter ?
Are they scared that their term will not be extended by the govt this month if they follow NPC and adopt a resolution ?
Are they all selfish like most of the Muslim parliamentarians ?
Where are the spineless TNA Tamils and Sinhala members in the Council ?

The whole thing happened due to lack of law & order situation prevailing in the country, for a long time.
We should not really blame the people, monks or police but the government for not enforcing real law & order and punishing the culprits without any mercy. Look at the court order in the murder case of the young girl of Jaffna ?..The verdict meted out to the seven offenders are lessons that will definitely prevent this kind of brutal things happening again. Due punishments will reduce or even stop crimes. SL authorities’ neglect of justice and punishment brought all these acts of crimes in the country. People and even monks will behave properly if the law of the land is enforced without any discrimination or political interference. It’s the rotten good for nothing politicians who are spoiling the citizen. Look at the way politicians are protecting the war criminals here ! How can these bunch of idiots can control the crimes or rule a nation ?! The country will go nowhere but will only get destroyed gradually by it’s own so called “leaders”.

It is suggested that the proposed new constitution under Article 9 is laid down as follows “to grant impunity for the BUDDHIST CLERGY,’ “No complaint or any form of legal action including charges, indictment, law suits or prosecution shall be lodged or initiated against any member of BUDDHIST CLERGY for any of their acts or commission or omission either lawful or otherwise”.

NOT ENOUGH Sri Lankans, especially, those in the highest positions in the land, have come out to unequivocally condemn the activities of the mob (both with and without robes) who persecuted the FEW who sought refuge in our blessed land. 31 souls; living, breathing creatures of circumstance who find themselves in difficult times, and we could not find the united, unstinting, unhesitating will to give them even temporary relief.
Oh the shame of it. WE have inflicted on the rest of the world a considerably number seeking refuge; when great natural disaster struck, the rest of the world rushed to help us. When the chance came our way, WE let down humanity.
