The Associated Press reported on Saturday, Aug 10 that “trouble erupted on Friday in Kishtwar, a town 200 kilometres (125 miles) southeast of Srinagar when Hindus objected to Muslims shouting pro-independence slogans during the Eid al-Fitr holiday, which caps the Muslim fasting month of Ramadan.. The trouble erupted Friday” Another report said an armed mob of 20,000 Muslims marched toward Hindus & attacked them. Many Hindus were severely injured & some are critical. While this was happening, a bigger mob attacked & burnt shops & houses owned by Hindus. Serious arson, looting & murders went on for a long time, until the morning. Police came but they were of no use. Many Hindu youth are in hospitals with bullet injuries in their arms & abdomen. In the afternoon, the Government sent the army and the curfew is being strictly enforced. And here in Sri Lanka, Muslims are hard at work to become the majority. Just imagine the consequences.

Lester, Why are you trying to distract CT readers from the hooliganism that you seem to have noticed even this late? If you have an iota of shame left in you, you should condemn this attack. If you belong to this so called superior Aryan race, how is it that you seem to condone hooliganism? How is it that you are able to justify one group of people in one country being victimized because another bunch of people are acting like a bunch of idiots? Obviously there is not a moral thread in you. I don’t know who your parents are, where you schooled or who your friends are, but all of them seem to have failed you. I can only say this to you; ““To belittle, you have to be little. — Khalil Gibran Have a nice day Nabil

Are you trying to justify the attack on Grandpass just because of a problem occurred in Kishtwar in India?

Nabil and Red, I am only trying to say Muslims should list some verses of the Koran as Satanic verses and particularly the ones that condemn Christians, Jews and unbelievers as vile animals and to death. Muslims must also change their breeding pattern and growth of their mosques.

Is this a ploy to agitate the muslim population so that they too can be shot when they protest? That way M’Adolf’a Rajapaksha can say that all communities are treated EQUAL!

Don’t lose faith. M.A. Sumanthiran has been out there condemning attacks on Muslims. I hope he will speak on this issue as well, but I know the other attack over the water is getting all the attention because it really illustrates how bad this regime is for all Sri Lankans. So far, the Muslims of Sri Lanka have responded in a way that has been a credit to Islam. They have tried to get attention to their plight in a nation where the media is gagged. A lot of diverse people will have to come together to fight for the restoration of the rule of law for Sir Lanka. Hang in there. Sri Lanka will be taken back peacefully someday and it will have a good future.

Agree. Time to address this matter with OIC. (The Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) (formerly Organization of the Islamic Conference) is the second largest inter-governmental organization after the United Nations which has membership of 57 states spread over four continents. The Organization is the collective voice of the Muslim world and ensuring to safeguard and protect the interests of the Muslim world in the spirit of promoting international peace and harmony among various people of the world).

Is this also Islamophobia ? “bomb has exploded at a Sunni mosque north of Baghdad, reportedly killing at least 20 people. The attack happened during Friday Prayers at the Abu Bakr al-Sadiq Mosque in the town of Wajihiyah, some 60 kilometers from the Iraqi capital. Some reports said a suicide bomber was responsible, but there has been no official confirmation of that. Local police reported the death toll and said about 40 people were wounded in the bombing. It was still unclear who was responsible for the attack, but Diyala Province, where Wajihiyah is located, has seen a spike in violence this month. Attacks linked to sectarian hostilities between Iraq’s majority Shi’a and minority Sunnis have killed more than 2,600 people since the start of April. “

Is this also Islamophobia ? ” A Shia Mosque in the town of Al-Ehsa’a in the east of Saudi Arabia attacked and damaged on Friday. A clip of attacked Mosque and the amount of damage to it is published on social media. When worshippers went for the Friday prayers they faced with a Mosque where everything in it was broken or damaged. According to Akhbar24 news network Shia Mosques in Al-Ehsa’a province are attacked regularly. Last month two Mosques were attacked in a similar manner by the unknown attackers in the province. So far no one has been arrested for attacking Shia Mosques.”

Jim softy, There were no mosques attacked in KSA. In Al hassa completely Shias living and In KSA violence is not allowed…….If they wanted to vanish out the Shias in KSA they would have done it in 18th century….you should learn the history. Basically it is out of the subject…..KSA and Sri Lanka are completely different countries. KSA is king rule dictatorship and Sri Lanka is a Democratic country. Don’t act as a fool…….Your Racism you keep with in you…………Because majority of Sri Lankan hate the Racism.

Alan, Are you saying that Sri Lanka need democracy because Muslim are only 10% and Saudis need no democracy because it is 100% Muslim. Is it not democracy that they have in Pakistan where many a Christians were killed for blasphemy. I say, if Sri Lanka has been a Muslims country, many a Ahmadiya Muslims would have been send to hell by Wahhabi Jihadis who takes a short-cut to heaven where they believe eternal virgins await for them. Just like they have done in Pakistan during the Eid al-Fitr holidays. Ahmadiya Muslims should consider they are very lucky to live in Sri Lanka and enjoy life in this life.

The need for Myanmar like mechanism to deal with Islam. Islam however, whoever says what, Is a barbaric religion. The religion asks to kill those who do not believe in Islam. The justification is, “it is better to kill them than let them live with no faith on Allah” so killing infidels is this justified as “for the betterment of infidels” E.g : Quran 2:191 And slay them wherever ye find them, and drive them out of the places whence they drove you out, for persecution is worse than slaughter. And fight not with them at the Inviolable Place of Worship until they first attack you there, but if they attack you (there) then slay them. Such is the reward of disbelievers. 2:193 And fight them until persecution is no more, and religion is for Allah. 2:216 Warfare is ordained for you, though it is hateful unto you; but it may happen that ye hate a thing which is good for you, and it may happen that ye love a thing which is bad for you. Allah knoweth, ye know not. 2:244 Fight in the way of Allah, and know that Allah is Hearer, Knower. 5:33 The only reward of those who make war upon Allah and His messenger and strive after corruption in the land will be that they will be killed or crucified, or have their hands and feet on alternate sides cut off, or will be expelled out of the land. Such will be their degradation in the world, and in the Hereafter theirs will be an awful doom. In Islam, everything is governed under Quran. Children are taught only Islam, but not even a word about other religions. They are taught and trained to act as killing machines and spread Islam. This is the reason why Islam is very aggressive and Islam itself is terrorism. When the majority of a country is Islam, they impose Sharia. They justify it as the “divine law of God”. Non-Muslims also need to adhere to sharia, or be punished under sharia. Non-Muslims are not given jobs/education or other opportunities. There will be taxes on non-Muslims, just because they are non-Muslims. E.g. Indonesia, Malaysia See “Jizya” : e.g : http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jizya Why non-Muslims should pay Jizya : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=C6g9ohG-784 Muslims migrate to Non-Muslim country and slowly (yet steadily) grow their numbers. They act very innocent and get all the benefits under the majority. Most of the other civilised religions do not depress other religions. And Islam grows with no threat from the existing principle religion ( Buddhism or Christianity) once they grow the numbers, then ask for sharia and special laws. And when they can, they take the power of the country and make it a Muslim country. No democracy , no mercy for minorities there onwards. Non-Muslims are depressed and killed. See why terrorism is allowed in Islam: http://wikiislam.net/wiki/Why_Terrorism_is_Allowed_in_Islam It is rather apparent the reference to “satin” in Christianity and reference to “mara” in Buddhism must be referred to the same, that is Islam and its God Allah. According to Christianity and to Buddhism, there is a dooms day; where e the world destroys, when people are sinners. It must be referred to a situation where Islam conquers the world. Or rather “satin” or “mara” conquer the world. Then the glory of the world is gone. And world get destroyed itself. So via democracy, kindness the world simply cannot deal with Islam. Islam is such that It is like a cancer. By loving the cancer or by been nice to cancer, you can’t get rid from that. You need to treat the cancer in such a way to get rid from that. The mechanism in Myanmar, is thus rather justified. Since they understood that Islam is growing and soon, they will be slaves under Islam hypocrisy and depression. A problem which cannot be addressed democratically or with a human feelings. Look, what happened in all Buddhist countries, in all peaceful countries. Islam enters and they simply destroy it. E.g. Sri Lankan, India, Maldives, Bangladesh etc etc. The American Approach is better, but is in macro level. Mass scale Muslim depression. While America treats the would cancer like that, small nations like Myanmar or Sri Lanka need to act in a grass root level to get rid form the world cancer. Sri Lankans, if they need to be safe, have to think about Something like in Myanmar, before it is too late. I think Sri Lankan Buddhist are ( or they used to be ) too good and too innocent. Bodu Bala Sena is doing a marvellous duty by making it clear to Sinhalese. Let’s hope the Glory of the world will remain longer, with No Islam Hypocrisy.

Jasica David knows that the context of these verses were during Islams nascent stage when its enemies were trying their utmost to wipe out the movement once and for all. The verses encourage the Muslims to fight for their survival but not to transgress the limits. Her puerile attempts to mislead the readers must surely fall flat on her face as she reads the ethics of war as promulgated by Prophet Muhammad which is as follows: During his life, Prophet Muhammad gave various injunctions to his forces and adopted practices toward the conduct of war. The most important of these were summarized by Prophet Muhammad’s companion and first Caliph, Abu Bakr, in the form of rules for the Muslim army:
“O people! I charge you with ten rules; learn them well! Do not commit treachery or deviate from the right path. You must not mutilate dead bodies. Neither kill a child, nor a woman, nor an aged man. Bring no harm to the trees, nor burn them with fire, especially those which are fruitful. Slay not any of the enemy’s flock, save for your food. You are likely to pass by people who have devoted their lives to monastic services; leave them alone.
If the attempt to show Islam was barbaric the how come the ethics of war as promulgated above exceed morally the acts perpetrated in Iraq, Afghanistan, Libya by the so called “CIVILIZED WEST”?

I think laws must be formed to control proliferation of places of worship in Sri Lanka including mosques, temples, kovils, churches etc. A minimum land area should be set at four acres in urban areas and 12 acres in remote areas to build such a place of worship. Otherwise, people are converting small buildings and even roadsides to construct mosques and temples. This causes much inconvenience to other people. All the small places of worship should be closed down including those new roadside structures in the north. If we allow, Muslims will open a mosque in every street and Buddhists will open a temple under every lamppost. This nuisance should be stopped immediately through strict laws by setting minimum standards. Religion has become a lucrative profession and a mean of living for many politicians. The religion based political parties also should be dissolved to build a decent Sri Lanka.

Jessica David I wish to comment on J. David’s last sentence and I quote ” Let’s hope the Glory of the world will remain longer, with No Islam Hypocrisy.”. Very profound. There is Sinhala Buddhist hatred and hypocrisy just under your pathetic nose, putrid as it is, you seem not to notice because you are surrounded by senseless and puerile hate! I can only pity you, because you are the lowest life-form I have encountered. Imagine waking up every day, full of hatred, and being fixated on denigrating your fellow human beings! As Khalil Gibran says ““To belittle, you have to be little.” and you are too little to even bother with an expanded reply. My hope is that you experience at least for a day, a day without hate, that just for one day that you are at peace and a day empty of hate! Nabil P.S Lester, Leela and all other apologists, and other Arm Chair Generals who do not have the guts to use a Sinahla name;this applies to all of you as well

SL needs to get down Mossad to stop these racists attacking Sinhala people’s houses. This is NOT acceptable. The war left 89,000 Tamil war widows. If another war starts it will leave 356,000 Muslim war widows (it is legal to marry up to 4 women for Muslims). Just because some Buddhist maniacs attacked a mosque, Muslims have no right to attack Sinhala houses. We all know who won the war and who cried genocide. So don’t push your luck. Next Indian BJP government will not tolerate this extremism either. Needless to say about he US government!

I am amazed at the large amount of media coverage this incident is getting internationally and locally compared to the Weliweriya attacks where not only were many injured and a few killed but also a church was shot at and many inside the church harassed and threatened. Looks like seeking justice for the Muslims is more important than for the victims of the Weliweriya attacks. What a world we live in.

Plateau State, Nigeria (CNN) — Gunmen attacked a mosque in the Nigerian town of Konduga with automatic weapons, killing at least 44 people, a local police official said. The mosque is in Konduga town, about 30 kilometers (almost 19 miles) southeast of Maiduguri, the capital of Nigeria’s northern Borno state. The Islamic militant group Boko Haram has carried out attacks in this area before, though police are still investigating this incident. Nigeria’s Daily Trust newspaper quotes him as saying: “By Allah, we have come of age; we now have the capability to face the United States, not to talk of Nigeria.”
