All 225 members in this infamous chamber are a true burden to Sri Lanka. Living the good life. Using tax money of some of the poorest people on the planet, Sri Lankans. Shameful.

We need MPs who refuse free, fuel guzzling, 4W driven vehicles given to them. In order to corrupt them. While citizens languish on outdated, malfunctioning and over-crowded public transport.

      Cheers!

May be Dayasiri J is suffering from Dementia to forget the past all of a sudden. Hope this kind of political gembas are rarity in the country.

UNP has a very good history, most of the remarkable leaders were from this party. The core problem with the UNP is its leader today is spineless. First change or chase the current leader and shop for a good straightforward leader, then everything will be fine.

According to the mother of all anti Lankan, anti Buddhist and anti Govt , English Media outlets, the LeN, which caters to the Diaspora and the UNP oversea members, Mr Dayasiri has [Edited out] on top the legit one.

Yet Keselwatta Kid is crying that Mr Dayasiri deserted him .

And the other Dude, what’s his name is cheesed off, because Daya apparently was his Buddy.

    Whats going on here?.

If Chandrika Bandaranaiyake Kumaratunge times her moves right and makes them carefully she will certainly be the next President of Sri Lanka – with the likes of MR, Ranil, Sajith and Dayasiri in Govt and opposition!
There needs to be a Code of Ethics and Conduct drafted for ALL politicians who are the biggest law breakers in the land. This should be done by civil society organizations who should launch a VOTER EDUCATION campaign to educate the masses on the need to hold politicians accountable.

Currently, politicians of whom the Rajapassa thugs are the worst are the biggest law breakers and criminals in Lanka..

After all they are both decent speakers. They both brought facts about the recent past of the rulers, while reborn Dayasiri sprouts – NO REGRETS. Actually he should be GON MEE HARAKEK.. that the country never found sofar since the independence. Even bone licking Mervin should have better qualities than Dayasiri. He should name his name into JARASIRI :)

Sri Lanka -Politicians today are actors, who are better in thier profession as actors on the Political Platform than in thier career as Actors!!!!!!!!!!1

Who thought even ones like Dayasiri who had often accusing others of being actors- have finally done the same should have HIDDEN influences than any kind of inner POLITICAL conflicts within the current day UNP. Latter can only be answered – that Dayasiri should have admitted a colossal amount of taxpayers funds. This and the story behind Duminda Silva syndrome related health history will come to surface soon. Jaya Niyathai -Jaya Niyathai Jaya Niyathai Jaya Niyathai Jaya Niyathai Jaya Niyathai for us all that waiting for democratic values in the country :)

High time Ranil W get out. How long are we to suffer because of his arrogance? He needs to understand that the common man doesn’t want him and his arrogance only feeds the existing government !

Who should be the next according to you and the ilk ?

Sajith ? What kind of political exp has he got ?

What would be his hidden history about searching for NIDAN WASTU at that time ?

I would say yes to common leader – but who is going to be more suitable than RW with the backing of CBK, Sobitha thero and SF and all other seniors.

sudubanda, just let the rank and file members of the UNP have a say in selecting their leader with their vote at least going towards 50% of the vote for selection of the leader. The balance 50% can be from the MP’s and you have the leader that the UNP want and there is no need to worry about whether someone can do the job or not.

Is this the same procedure within other parties ? Party seniors should be given the leadership be it in India or anywhere democratic values are considered.

What are these village dudes doing in the the UNP?.

Isn’t it the party of the old British establisment, which is supposed to epitomize Anglo Saxon values, cuture and represent their affiliates in the Anglican Church, Sinhala Catholic Bourdgeosie and the Christain vellalas?.

At least Sumnathiran looks the part and could be the real deal too if not for the stripes.

Ranil was not surprised by any of these cross -overs as he knew it in advance. He knows who can be trusted and who cannot;who are MARA’s plants and who are not. Ranil sidelines these fellows. Very good,Karu who first lead the damage to the UNP left Mara because he got blakguarded in raw filth over the Grama Sevaka issue. He was also promised PM but Mara never carried out that. Very good for Karu who is now salivating and trying to get back to the UNP high command. Sajith is a highly overrated fellow who is not a patch on his father, Preme. He is a purely local worker who can be no more than be a Mayor. He has no clue about international affairs. These lost cases are put to the shade by youngsters like Dr Silva the economist, Harin Fernando.

Not only the old senile in the Ranil appointed executive committee should be chased out if the UNP is to have a chance in the next election.

” He knows who can be trusted and who cannot;who are MARA’s plants and who are not “

if that so ,who is Long John A ? is he a close confident of RW or a double agent ? let’s assume he is a trusted henchman of RW , then how can any one justify John’s participation of the MR’s UN tour in 2010, what about the active participation of 2010 war victory parade along with Sajith and Gayantha , despite RW ‘s official boycott?
Mahinda samarasinghe, Milinda Moragoda used to be RW ‘s close confidents , what happened in the end ?
    $ 64000 question , is RW a MARA’s plant ?

Srilal, to be truthful, it appears that MR is a plant of RW to show that Political expediency does not pay. Wait and see MR will burn himself out very soon.

“Wait and see MR will burn himself out very soon.”

Damage has already been done in all aspects of social, political, religious, ethical & moral fabric of SL society beyond repair ! Every crime, misdeed, corruption have been institutionalized. Any one can get away with any crime if you have the right contacts , this is the simple truth !

RW may be a honest, visionary leader, but as the opposition leader he is directly responsible and answerable to SL public , what has he done to curb the prevailing epidemic , he has been very busy disciplining his own party members and suppressing any dissent within the party ,for his own survival ! taking in to SL populace psychic , it is not too difficult to predict that he will never ever succeed in becoming the president through a popular vote , RW had two golden opportunities (1999 & 2005) he let go his rightful victories so easily , period!

People want to get rid from Rajapaksha junta but same time people do not want to re-elect Ranil this is the ground reality…either sajith Karu or Fonseka can not topple this government and this government will be topple by the members of SLFP to happen this at least opposition should united and in that opposition there should not be any place for Ranil…

Nowhere in Sri Lanka’s history that these types of corruptions occourd in every Institution under Rajapakses.

From Parliament to Supreme court to Media, Police and armed forces, Diplomatic and international missions, CB, Stock market and all financial institutions and almost all Govt. and private institutions that President could put his fingers, he has made them his personal Whore houses.

They either could be bought freely or with Black money, or could be threat to adhere to his commands or could be white vanned.

This is the drama played by Rajapakses today.

DJ’s Pimp money is well worth and well compensated for hiscross over service.

Ranil has to talk to him self what is he going to do to his party.

Both UNP MP’s and the voters are not happy with his type of governing the party.

While knowing MR’s behaviour, Ranil has to come up with a game plan to face MR’s cunning tactics including having Black coffee at his residence.

There are still more respectable and talented Politicians available in the UNP and Ranil should give them sufficient powers to bring the party up.

Also Ranl should see to his health and to check if he is fit enough Physically endure to lead the party for the next 10 years.

I don’t see much of his confidence, faith and assuarance given to public when he talks and in his speeches.

Remember people watch the unity of a party when casting there vote. Party should work like a family.

      Pillay gathering Weliweriya information
      [ Sunday, 11 August 2013, 07:49.59 AM GMT +05:30 ]
The Office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights (OHCHR) Navi Pillay has been alerted over the violent incidents which took place in Weliweriya recently and they are now in the process of gathering more information.
Pillay’s spokesperson Cécile Pouilly said that OHCHR is concerned over the reported incidents in which three people were killed and many others sustained injuries.

“We are concerned about reported incidents in the town of Weliweriya, Sri Lanka, where protesters asking for clean water were reportedly injured. We are trying to gather more information on these incidents,” Pouilly said.

The concerns have been raised even as Pillay prepares to visit Sri Lanka at the end of this month on an invitation extended by the government.

External Affairs Ministry Secretary Karunatillake Amunugama said that so far Pillay’s office has not indicated that she will be looking into the Weliweriya incident.

However he said the government is ready to respond to any concerns she has and communicate the government position.

Ranil Wickremesinghe is sustained by two factors – by a majority in
the Working Committee who are his boot lickers and he was elected
for six years by an electorate who are not members of the UNP. He
will ride high but the party will hit a new low.

Sajith Premadasa is by no means an alternative. Give him position and
he will, like his great and much talked of father, sell all others. The
father was responsible for the death of 600 policemen. No one has so much as wanted to try him for this. They talk of cornering a fellow
who has stolen a bun from a bakery because he was starving.

Karu Jayasuriya is backed by a few supporters who in turn operate
a network of journalists. So, like the kites being flown at Galle Face
Green, he surfaces in the media now and then. Every two weeks he also
has his news conference but most media now do not publish what he
says. That is because it is a collection of half baked reports already
    published or aired.

That poses the question of who can lead the UNP? That dilemma is the greatest success of PR maestro Mahinda Rajapaksa. He has successfully
divided the UNP so much. RW became far too dependent on MR. He met him alone, at least once every week.

The breaking point came at one of those meetings where MR asked the
UNP to participate in the Parliamentary Select Committee. RW agreed
but could not carry it through his party. Two timer long John and a
few of RW’s cronies were willing. But all others opposed it. So one
slap came from MR – he took Dayasiri Jayasekera to the government fold.

Whatever happens, RW will NOT give up. He is a master devious manipulator. He will plant news reports in the media, mislead his cronies and continue to remain in office. The UNP, for all purposes, is already dead except for the catchers at Cambridge Place.

No amount of oxygen will help. The only way out is to rid the party
of Quisling Wickremesinghe. Until then, people who curse the government will automatically end up cursing RW and even his parents
    who are not to blame.
