I always suspected that, that 6% demand by Dons is a cover to deceive the public and continue their strike. Surely Dons should have known that the government can never ever agree to such politically motivated demands. Hundred days have passed, road parades are over, but sympathy for Dons is not on the rise. On the contrary, strike seemed to have passed the climax stage and is definitely on the way towards the downhill.

No wonder, we now hear that Dons have come to an agreement with the government to end their strike. Did they get that 6% they yelled as a must to end the strike. No. If so, the strike is an utter waste.

Its just another sham like their claim that most Dons would have gone abroad if their salaries were not increased. Whether most Dons are qualified enough or their field has demand to secure a job abroad have to be debated. Somehow, with all those tricks and threats, Dons got an unreasonable increase to their salaries in the end.

I say unreasonable, because Dons had not volunteered/agreed to improve productivity and/or performance of their profession by way of added work or extra curricular activities or any other way. In my opinion, most of them would stay put where they are and continue to preach their old notes to produce more and more unemployable graduates (paper pushers) who would be a burden to the country.

Without waving a wild card, Dons should come up with a detailed plan to help improve the production of the country.

Irnoy is, all the last three months they glorified not getting paid while on strike and as we rightly predicted all along, all they successfully negotiated has been their salary arrears for the last three months.Basically they just had another paid holiday!Idiot Bala Tampo must demand his Rs. half a million donation he made to FUTA back because he must know he collected that money from very poor garment workers over years.

Dons who got paid for non-working 3 months should pay back to the poor labourers who fed them through Bala Tampo. Shame ! Shame !!

A breadth of fresh air after three months to those who got cold feet that FUTA action might turn into a Sri Lankan spring. Anyway good for the public to know the dead ropes, entertaining false hope. Afterall this FUTA were the very forces responsible in electing MR. God for all and each one for him or herself.
