Thank you CT and Derana TV for the video clip.

I think the request made by Gen.SF for CJ to join him for active politics is a Jenuine and a honest request to clean up the corruption, dirt and mess that have accumulated in the parliament ever since we got Independence.

Although it is a difficult task due to the cancer been deep rooted, still with jenuine and honest set of politicians, professionals and visionaries we still could bring a change.

CJ is already an Icon where people have finally realised how the dirty politics all this time have taken them for a ride…..and are jenuinely looking for a change. But that change should be impartial, equal justice for all and with a strong vision to develop the country in all aspects, using all the resources(manpower, capital, land, enterprenuership and innovators) to suit 21st century.

Just Imagine During ancient Kings time we had 1000 odd irrigation reservoirs (Wevas). But now after 500 years we don’t see those 1000 reservoirs except frw with the exception of few hydropower dams like Mahaweli, Kothmale, Samanaweva, Rantambe etc…..while the population has increased over 100 fold.

I will bet with anybody that although we have FLOODS ALL OVER THE COUNTRY TODAY….. AND MOST OF THE DAMS ARE OVER FLOODED AND THE SLUICE GATES ARE OPENED…….GIVEN A “THREE WEEKS” OF NO RAIN OR DRAUGHT…….GOVT. WILL IMPOSE A WATER CUT…POWER CUT….OR RESTRICT RELEASING WATER FOR IRRIGATION SAYING THERE’S NO WATER.

THIS IS THE STATE OF OUR WATER AND RESOURCE ACCUMULATION AND MANAGEMENT 60 YEARS AFTER INDEPENDENCE.WHY CAN’T THE GOVT. DIVERSIFY MORE WATER TO NORTH AND NORTH WEST AS THOSE AREAS HAVE MORE POTENTIAL FOR IRRIGATION AND STORING WATER. WHERE IS THE PROPER INFRASTRUCTURE DEVELOPMENTS IN ALL ASPECTS IN THE ECONOMY OTHER THAN ENDLESS ROADS BEEN BUILT, PORTS AND HARBOURS (6) WITHOUT SHIPS (except Colombo),TOURISM WITH ELEPHANTS BEEN KILLED ON DAILY BASIS AND DEVELOPMENTS WITHOUT PROPER PLAN, TARGETS AND ACHIEVEMENTS.

CJ is more suitable to carry on with her current position and could countribute more to the country by helping to get rid of mass corruptions, thugs, criminals, murderers and power hungry commission lunatics in the parliament etc.…..No more Presidents or Rajanos please.

It is the Corrupt Govt. MAFIA that wants to get rid of you….not the General public that look for protection, security and good governancde.

Also Her.Ladyship could contribute to change the Constitution to get rid of Draconian 18th amendment, Grass hopper jumpers from one to another party, 10% and more corruption contracts, implement minimum qualifications such as at atleast a bachelor’s degree or equivalent qualification with a clean police clearance to contest for election, employee representation of all ethnic groups and religion to all Govt and state sector jobs,…. not a one parliament finance minister…….. but a “Finance and Budget planning committee” to overlook all finance related matters. etc…etc..

Finally I have only one question which I try to find answer for the last FEW YEARS AND IF ANYBODY KNOW THE ANSWER PLEASE ANSWER ME.

CAN ANYBODY ADVISE ME ON WHAT IS THE MEANING OF THE POSITION OF….
“THE ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT MINISTER AND THE LIMITS OR THE BOUNDRIES OF THAT MINISTRY”

I am totally confused of this “Economic Development Ministry” as to I don’t see any boundries or limits to it. IT COVERS FROM DEVELOPING A FARM A POND A SHOP, TOURISM, AGRICULTURE, IMPORTS,EXPORTS,HOUSING,COMMERCIAL BUILDINGS, HOTELS,PORTS, AIRPORTS,FREE TRADE ZONE,HOSPITALS, GUEST HOUSES, CLUBS, NIGHT RACES etc…etc…There’s no limit to it….
Then what’s the other Ministers who are involved in all these ministries do…….. except to get a leftover commission……from above.

So is the DIVINEGUMA, AND 10% OR MORE COMMISSION AND WEALTH OF CORRUPTION BUILT ON ONE… BODY….A RAJA PAULA.

CJ with the help of Judiciary should eliminate this MAFIA CORRUPTION FROM SRI LANKA FOR GOOD.

I wish her and the Judiciary well and request them to take more Parliament Powers under Judiciary(them) to stop these MAFIA corruptions.

Finally I say please give extra care and security for all your lives ……as the White vans are again roaming in the towns. We citizen value your lives more than anybody. So Please take extra care.

    Happy New Year 2013.

Sorry but true to state that MR is so drunk with power. He is so blind folded and cannot get the message delivered in clear terms to him by the Judiciary that is not willing to submission of any sort. Surely the time is right for MR not to insult the intelligence of the people and deceive them with utter falsehood. Hope he would learn how to practice what he preaches. Whether he likes it or not he should drop the rule by deception and drop all utterly self-centered advisers who would do anything under the sun for private gain.

There is no doubt that no sitting judge should take not only politics but also favor any political party when it comes to deliver her or his judgment on cases which have political repercussions. This CJ is a dead woman walking. Only sentence they have to repeat is; “CJ is unpatriotic LTTE Sinhala agent”. This ruling family junta is going to get rid of her regardless of her innocence. When that does happen she will have to decide whether to walk away with crumbs they might offer with her departure or fight for the justice and fairness for entire civil society of Sri Lanka by going in front of people and make a case for political change that is needed so desperately and urgently at this crucial juncture. Let’s wait and see whether she is going to walk the talk.

Great speech. MR destroys laws to perpetuate his kleptocratic dynasty. He forgets that he’ll need the protection afforded by the Law when he loses power and is at the mercy of his enemies.

First woman CJ. Sarath N has to take tuition from her.
Whatever the outcome going to be,this lady is already on record
as a symbol of resistance. The need for action is ever increasing
while crucial players are still buying time sitting on the fence.
Pressure should come from all walks against tyranny.Long live
    justice and its guardians.

While reader Avi expresses the views of most, I am afraid the current CJ is not the one to be called upon to “fight for justice and fairness to all civil society” She has stained her reputation far too much when she openly hobbknobbed with the ruling clique for years – when she was in their good books. That sitting judges should not taken to politics while holding office is a universal basic fact and needs no emphasis. “Taking to politics” is not merely coming forward in events to advance the political fortunes of the party in power. When the CJ, in poor judgement, is seen in the company of VVIPs when their issues “pass out” as lawyers falls into that category of “playing politics” Our great CJs of the past had the good sense to keep away from events with even the remotest of a political flavour – and never left cause to be censured either by the public or the media for such transgressions.

But then the truth is after the Chinthana the country has been turned topsy-turvy – “all for the good of the common man” The Defence Secy – once a high and respected office held by men of great experience and learning – now openly addresses political meetings of Govt candidates.
Whether they are drug-traffickers, exortionists/kidnappers, pimps nothwithstanding.

This is the first time the Rajapakshe family/government has realized that they have made a mistake in appointing a CJ who is neither a Rajapakshe family member nor a Rajapakshe pandamkaraya (bootlicker) or someone who will oblige for a bribe/perks or threats/intimidation. By trying to get rid of the CJ who is bold and smart, the Rajapakshe family/government has stepped into the sinking mud, when they lift one leg the other goes in, helpless. In the case of SF, the Army was full of Rajapakshe bootlickers but here the majority of the Judges and the Lawyers cannot be bought, influenced or intimidated by the Rajapakshe family/government. This is also the first time the Rajapakshe family/government’s dirtiest politics is fully exposed to the public.

Let us hope that 2013 will bring relief to our country.

Jayantha’s comment should be commended by all intelligent, impartial and those who yearn for a prosperous and a peaceful united Sri Lanka where everyone can live in harmony. His comment “qualifications such as at at least a bachelor’s degree or equivalent qualification with a clean police clearance to contest for elections, employee representation of all ethnic groups and religion to all Govt and state sector jobs,…. not a one parliament finance minister…….. but a “Finance and Budget planning committee” to overlook all finance related matters. etc…etc..”
alone is enough to rectify ongoing root causes of problems Sri Lankans have been experiencing since Independence. Before it is too late, all educated Sri Lankans should group together (without any party politics) with one motive in their hearts, i.e to serve the people of Sri Lanka irrespective of their ethnicity, religious, caste(silly!!),and political differences.
