By Colombo Telegraph –
“No, no, in India Gandhi family, take even in US, Bush – Bush senior, Bush junior, Kennedy – Kennedy junior, next time, Obama – Obama junior, but they are small. So, I mean it’s happening in the all part of the world. It’s not only Sri Lanka and mind you that all these people were elected by the people of this country. They got the most votes.” Mahinda Rajapaksa told CNN.

Well Kalyana – what indeed is your problem with MR, is it his presentational English? His Englsh would have served the purpose since YOU understood what he said. We did too. To put it bluntly, no one including India need worry about SL going after China when that is indeed what the US, EU and everyone lse is doing – that is what MR said !! MR could have spoken in Sinhala like so many of the World leaders in their mother tounge, leaving others to translate what was said and that would have been quite ok.- S de Silva – London

….then why the f##k couldn’t Jarapaksa opt to answer questions in the official language?

Amongst Sinhalese there is a common say that “nodanna demala ta gihin varige nahaganna epa”. It means, don’t inflict a damage to your own community by using broken Tamil. English is not his mother tongue and he could have used Sinhalese conveniently to take the maximum opportunity to tell the World what he had in his mind.
But the worse thing was not the embarrassment due to his poor performance in English but he had forgotten exact ending dates of the war against LTTE. He and his brother, the Defence Secretary claimed the victory as if it was solely an historical achievement of his family members whereas the whole World knew who did it. It was the former Army Commander General Sarath Fonseka who used his outstanding military tactics to defeat the terrorist outfit but the General is serving consecutive prison sentences for the crimes not committed by him. Some do suspect that this conspiracy was hatched by India as they didn’t like General becoming the Head of the State due to various reasons. In the recent political past, the relationship between India and Sri Lanka was mainly based on bilateral conspiracy politics.

Did you not know that he is from 3 of the greatest schools in Sri Lanka? Richmond, Nalanda and Thurstan? He did his LLB at the Colombo University which has produced so many well acute lawyers and doctors including our president. He is from the village so his English doesnt have to be 100%. It good enough to communicate and thats what matters! English is not our mother tongue!

But filthy has become the official language of the Ra-jarapakse regime. Mervyn is assigned to keep his eye on people who use descent language. Such people can be in trouble according to Mervyn.

The interviewer is literally reading the first page of Google News and getting the same couched, uncomfortable answers. Mahinda is clearly uncomfortable in English and doesn’t come off well here, but the interviewer doesn’t help. My main experience is awkward. Also his pants are too tight. Sarong better.

Sadly mai buruwaa does not know what he is saying, looks like hondata adiyaa gahala wagai, he stammers – that shows his thinking path linked to his brain takes time to formulate the word TRUST and by the time it comes out of his verbal cage – already 32 seconds have passed by – then he comes back to TRUST.
Conscious Mind is some where else and his body is some where else just babbling away – surely can see the Whisky has had a effect, if not he wont be sitting with Gonna in de Kanuwaa breezing his little jonny in cheap underwear and his socks look a mockery to any President’s wear (Shame).

The Bandaranaikes made hay while the sun shone. At least the Rajapakses talk sense. CBK has been to the Sorbonne but so have many other people. If they were all elected Presidents of their countries then the countries would have been swallowed up by insurgents.

Suhasini Haider, the interviewer, is a journalist of CNN-IBN, an Indian channel of the TV 18 group, and not from CNN. Other than making MR uncomfortable, I don’t understand what has she achieved here
