Video: New Year Message By Raja Of Jaffna

En ilankai Tamil makkal ellorukkum ulagam muluvathum paranthu vaalum Tamil makkal anaivarukkum en iniya puthu varuda  nal vaalthukkal. Intha puthu varudathil,  anaivarum anaithu selvankalum pettu amaithiyana, nimmathiyana, makilchiyana  vaalkai vaala iraivanai piraarthikiren.

Ma upan lak bime wesena siyalu denatath, sakala loka wasi sema siyalu denatath, me labannawu, 2014 nawa wasara, oba semata kiriyen paniyen ithirena, samaya sathuta rajayana wasanawantha suba nawa wasarak weva kiya mama prarthana karami.

I extend my warmest greetings and best wishes to all the people in Sri Lanka and around the world on the occasion of the New Year. May this New Year bring peace, good health, wealth, happiness and prosperity now and throughout the New Year.

I am pleased that the Northern Provincial Council Elections took place in 2013, and for selecting the former Supreme Court Judge Honorable C. V. Wigneswaran as Chief Minister for Northern Province. It was the first ever Northern Provincial Council elections took place after 1988.

Although the war is over the suffering is not, the people want justice and peace. The people have cast their votes for the Tamil National Alliance and it is theirs and governments responsibility to fulfill the needs of the people.

I hope the remaining Tamil IDPs in the Northern and Eastern part of the country will be resettled without further delay.

Raja Remigius Kanagarajah

Raja Remigius Kanagarajah

I would like to express my deep concern over the public demonstration which took place in Weliweriya, where they demanded providing clean drinking water to the public. My heart goes out to the families who lost their children and for the civilians who were injured during this protest. The authorities must ensure that such incident will not occur in the future and that people should able to live in peace. Everyone has to learn to respect their fundamental rights.

Corruption is one of the critical issues around the world, especially in under developed and developing countries. If people stop paying bribes the corruption could be eliminated. The laws related to corruption should be made strict and the punishment for corruption should be very severe. Those who are involved and found guilty of corruption should be punished by law.

The families of people who have disappeared need proper investigation into the disappearances by an appointed Special Commission. After full investigation proper answers should be provided to the victims families. The authorities should take decisive steps to prevent these disappearances from taking place on the island.

After thirty years of civil war which ended four years ago on the island, all Sri Lankans should try to rebuild a new nation to live in peace and harmony. People have lost their homes, loved ones and their dreams. To re-establish their livelihoods, we must commit ourselves sincerely to continuing rehabilitation, reconstruction and redevelopment of the affected people and affected areas. Although some of the displaced civilians have been resettled, we must continue to improve the quality of their lives.

Unfortunately some groups of people are trying to create religious tensions in the country. I would kindly like to remind you all that on the island we have groups with different languages, race, religions, customs and traditions. All Sri Lankans need to understand and learn to respect each other’s religions and each other’s customs and traditions. All the people of Sri Lanka should be able to live in a truly equal multicultural society.

The greatest heritage we inherited from our forefathers was harmony. Sri Lanka was a shining example and model of ethnic and religious harmony for the rest of the world. Unfortunately, Sri Lankans of our generation failed to maintain this precious gift from our ancestors. When ethnicity and religion was politicized by politicians in the north and the south, they started to fight each other. Unfortunately, some are still trying to disturb the hard earned peace. Every human being on the planet has the right to live in peace. This is the most basic human right.

It is my sincere wish that all Sri Lankans should come forward to build a harmonious Sri Lanka. Do not fear change. If you change your thoughts, you change your life. The fastest way to achieve peace is to change your thinking. Some may think peace is difficult. In order to achieve peace and unity in our country, we have to work together. Therefore I urge all Sri Lankans to come forward and join hands for the happiness of the whole country.

May I wish you all a Happy New Year!

May the blessings of Lord Sri Kailasanathar be upon you all!

Whoa! Where did this blue blooded Tamil emerge from? All of a sudden. Never heard of him. A descendant of the so called Tamil Kingdom in northern Sri Lanka? And exiled in Netherlands? Of all places? His message is surprisingly very peaceful. As opposed to usual vengence propagated by global LTTE die-ass-pora. Looks like he has already made a few enemies among Ealamistas. Cheers!

No no… this is an old story. There were a lot about his marriage, his divorce and such. He has some kind of recognition in the system of international kings and queens. He pulls this kind of gimmicks regularly. Someone seems to have given some prominence this time. Please go back to your regularly scheduled programs….!

          Ben H,
He has been around for a long time. All your ‘suppositions’ are corect.
There do exist presnt day relatives of rulers of the ancient Kingdom of Jaffna.
Of course they are mere curiosities.

He’s a veteran exiled King. Google ‘royal family of Jaffna’, He’s been claiming this for years. He should consider doing something constructive instead constantly posing for pictures and issuing statements that put people in stitches. Perhaps a computer programmer or an orthodontist or something……

At least the man brings humour into our lives unlike the other King Rajapakse. There are lots of relatives of the last king of Jaffna around in London. I remember when I was a student, there was a famous trial of a crook called Emille Savundranayagam, who had defrauded many in London through an investment scheme, The Daily Mirror ran a story that his wife was descended from the King of Jaffna. I have come across many who claimed to be descendants of the last king of Jaffna. He must have been a prolific breeder through history does not suggest this. The Sinhalese have the same phenomenon where newly rich mudalalis upgrade themselves by marrying into established impoverished families.

The transportation of Kings was a policy of the British. The last Mogul King was taken to Rangoon and kept as a captive there in rather poor circumstances. The Muslims there built a mosque near his burial place and his tomb is visited. After reading the Last Moghul, I too visited it when I was in Rangoon last. The King of Burma was in turn taken to Calcutta where he lived in poverty as do his descendants now. Sri Wickrema Rajasinghe was taken to Vellore in TamilNadu, appropriately perhaps, because he was a Tamil. He too was kept a prisoner. They are stories of the mighty falling. Any chance that Rajapakse will repeat this performance. Maybe, he will stand trial as a criminal one day.

      Kabaragoya,

Dr. Savundra’s scam was an Insurance Co – Auto & Guarantee or some such thing – as I recall from memory. He gained such notoriety he was
interviewed on TV by David Frost. When Frost asked him patronisingly why he defrauded thousands of their auto Insurance and so, Emil S
said “we are taking back from you what you robbed from our people”
I am simply quoting him – not justifying his stand.

His wife was an Aloysius, a niece of Sir Chittampalam Gardiner, the Movie Theatre magnate – who came from a prominent Jaffna Tamil Catholic family. One of the assets owned by the family is the current Galle Face Hotel complex.

      Senguttuvan

Thank you Mr Senguttuvan. Now you jog my memory. It was a celebrated interview which did
mark the beginnings of David Frost.

For goodness sake – have you EVER heard of something so ludicrous? an economic refugee sits surrounded by plastic flowers with his wife’s necklace and pontificates with a ‘royal’ accent – the Tamil populace cannot be but embarrassed by this fool. All royalty was created through power grabbing and stolen land and wealth – this once clearly has none of that left. Ha again, I say

I am a Tamil from the North. This fellow is a clown talking rubbish. He claims to be a direct descendent of King Changli. He has been proclaiming this nonsense that he is Jaffna royalty for years from Holland. There is no proof that he has anything to do with the kingdom of the North. My grand aunt also said we were related to King Changli as we are from Nallur (ancient kingdom where Changli ruled from), this is rubbish talk. Nothing like that exists.

Having said, Tamils, Sinhalese and all living there should open their eyes and not allow these corrupt politicians hoodwink you all and lead you in the path of destruction. Back in the 80s, the members of the TULF (selfish scoundrels) sent all their children abroad to become doctors, bankers, lawyers and engineers and wound other people’s children to go and fight for their stupid cause called Tamil Ealam. Today the poor Tamils stand destroyed. All these TULF fellows are dead and gone and their children are flourishing abroad and minting money, while the innocent Tamils have nothing. We left in the early 80s as we could not live with the bloody LTTE and the SL forces. This is a kind request to my Sinhala brothers and sisters, stop listening to your corrupt politicians and the Tamil diaspora should back off and mind their business. Tamil Ealam is not going to happen and this is absolute nonsense. Today all Lankans stand to lose to this Pakse and his dirty scumbag brothers who are ruling the country. Think before you write or do anything.

Well, this was the same for the Sinhala chauvinist politicos too. They fed the rural boys Pali and Sanskrit
Sinhala and Buddhist Civilization and sent their own kids to Oxford or Cambridge if they were half as good as the rural kids.

A clown crowned by himself. Thanks for the joke CT. I wonder why he did not emerge during the time of the LTTE. VP would have something really strong to say about this joker.

And on the other hand if the best the rest of us could do was crowning MR as our Raja, I assure you this self proclaimed Raja of the north if endorced would be a far better choice.

How cool is this Dude !!..

His outfit looks cool too, in contrast to that verti and the kovil makeup which our latest CM wears in public..

This is the real deal if the Vellala rulers want a Tamil Governor for the North.as he sounds a reasonable bloke who is interested in peace and harmony.

And there is no issue with the caste either . with his Royal pedigree.

As a long time citizen of Holland , he wouldn’t be a “Commission Crow” when signing off on mega deal especially with the Diaspora funds to develop the North to the Toronto standard.or at least Scarborough standard.

A ” Like” from me and hope Gota will notice this hidden talent.

If majority of the people would feel the way the writer has pointed out in his message – no doubt we will achieve peace and reconcilliation among all folks.

    Quoted from the article perse:

“all Sri Lankans should come forward to build a harmonious Sri Lanka. Do not fear change. If you change your thoughts, you change your life. The fastest way to achieve peace is to change your thinking. Some may think peace is difficult. In order to achieve peace and unity in our country, we have to work together. Therefore I urge all Sri Lankans to come forward and join hands for the happiness of the whole country”

However, if we the right thinking would feel it – so long Rajapakshe will stay in power, there will be only half hearted efforts made towards building permanent peace. He has proved this during the last 4 years not reacting adequately in terms of law and order issue which is the cornerstone for peace crime free society.

I sent him a letter and asked about his caste, Gotra and other details. He never replied. He claims he is a direct Descendent of “Chankili” who was a colloborator with Portuguese. Chankili killed the “real” heirs of the Royal family.

Chankili was a Malayalee and worked under the king as soldier. The name Chankili is always used by the Malayalee soldiers of Panickkars!

Portuguese took away all the Royals and their close families to GOA where they were all killed.

The heir of the Jaffna king was PARANIRUBA SINHA MUTHALI. After the betrayal of Chankili, Para Niruba Sinha Muthali, his two children and two sisters were sent to GOA and they were killed there.

This bafoon dress like M.N.Namiyar in the Tamil movie “Thillaana Mohanambal”. In that movie also M.N.Nambiyar was a “maharajah of MADANPORE.

Jaffna kings originated from the HINDU caste Kshatriya. They carried the Kerala king’s name for their throne. RAJASEKARAN was the throne name of the Jaffna kings. This fellow has no idea of any Royal castes or Royal traditions.

When Portuguese captured KERALA, the Royals of Kerala were subdued by them. Chankili used the situation and collaborated with Portugeuse but he was also killed by the same Portuguese in two years.

Now this buffoon of Portuguese coolies cries that he belong to the “ARYA CHAKRAWARTHY”. Kerala Panikkan cannot be an ARYA Chakrawarthy!

Dharmapala of Kotte survived because he became a Catholic and appointed the King of Portugal as his heirs!

Most expatriates boast in their new countries that they are of aristocratic pedigree back home. But this guy ups the ante to the highest level conceivable. But what is scary is …. this guy is less insane than the likes of Amirthalingams, Prabakarans and Vickneswarans. Anyway this king of kitsch (look at all the thrift store stuff he has surrounded himself with) offers a much needed comic relief to the Tamils who have been subjected to intense fanaticism and madness – FOR REAL – for far too long by diabolical megalomaniacs, narcissists, and small time celebrity wannabes with grandiose delusions. These are the sickos who need professional help.

Maybe this guy will finally liberate the grim, hyper-intense Jaffna Tamils with his own brand of comedy. This guy is being satirical. The joke is on those who don’t get it.

Way to go Kanagarajah – if you are the King of Jaffna, I am the King of Siam !

    Let’s put on a show.
