A peaceful protest, staged against the rumbustious conduct SLBC Chairman Hudson Samarasinghe in front of the SLBC today (2nd), was interrupted by a group of hooligans.
They booed at the protesters and scolded them in obscene language. Dr. Nimalka Fernando, who recently received death threats from the SLBC Chairman during a live radio talk show, was also among the protesters.
The Police, led by SSP Premalal Ranagala, facilitated the hooligans by chasing away the protesters and destroying their placards. Instead of taking hooligans into custody, he dispersed protesters by threatening them in vulgar language.Protesters were mostly women and the large majority of them were human rights activists. Ranagala was the same police officer who protected the group who staged pro-government protests in front of the Hulftsdorp Court Complex when former Chief Justice Shirani Bandaranayake was impeached.

The study, published in Psychological Science, showed that people who score low on I.Q. tests in childhood are more likely to develop prejudiced beliefs and socially conservative politics in adulthood.
I.Q., or intelligence quotient, is a score determined by standardized tests, but whether the tests truly reveal intelligence remains a topic of hot debate among psychologists.
Dr. Gordon Hodson, a professor of psychology at the university and the study’s lead author, said the finding represented evidence of a vicious cycle: People of low intelligence gravitate toward socially conservative ideologies, which stress resistance to change and, in turn, prejudice, he told LiveScience.
Why might less intelligent people be drawn to conservative ideologies? Because such ideologies feature “structure and order” that make it easier to comprehend a complicated world, Dodson said. “Unfortunately, many of these features can also contribute to prejudice,” he added.

Those tests were conducted by the Commissioner of Elections.

I commented on this subject earlier too. I too listen to this person’s (Mr. Hudson Samarasinghe) own program aired on CITY FM (not regularly)and can vouch for the most degrading and vulgar language he uses to downgrade people. He does it with “impunity” and sometimes even go the extent of challenging the people to go to courts. Yet so far no person has taken that challenge and file a huge case against his vulgarity demonstrated to whole country and the world. That is why I asked this lady to do that, because in her presentation she once said she was called a “Prostitute”. Instead of resorting to this type of display of “protests” that also with a minimum number of participants and clashing with “low calibre law enforcement personnel”, she should have taken this man to courts and charged with the “heaviest defamation law suite”.

Dr.Nimalka Ferenando should sue Hudson Samarasinghe and should bring a Law suit for deformation of her Character.
Even though the Courts and Judges are Rajapakse Stooges and she might not get a fair judgment, still this case will go in for records.
Dr.Nimalka also could go for International Human Rights council and file a case and seek justice there.
Also Video tape the whole Demonstration and keep it for future records to prove what’s really happening in Sri Lanka.
