Secretary to the Ministry of Defence Gotabhaya Rajapaksa says that each time he meets the US Ambassador to Sri Lanka she asked him why he had not taken steps to punish Sri Lankan soldiers.

Speaking at a presentation ceremony at the National Chamber of Commerce yesterday Rajapaksa said that he always responds to Ambassador Michele Sison that soldiers cannot be punished without due procedure being followed.
The Secretary to the Ministry of Defence referred to remarks made by Ambassador Sison in Matara on Wednesday when he claimed she criticized the impeachment process against Chief Justice Shirani Bandaranayake.
“The biggest threat the US can pose to Sri Lanka’s military is to take away their defence scholarships” Rajapaksa said, adding that if they withdrew the training programmes, China would replace them. “We can send our soldiers to China for training” the Secretary said.
He claimed that Sri Lanka had not received any weapons assistance from the US during the war.
In Matara on Wednesday, the US Ambassador noted that “actions that undermine an independent judiciary in Sri Lanka may also undermine Sri Lanka’s ability to attract foreign investment. It’s no secret that foreign investors assess the state of rule of law in a country as a factor when making investment decisions.”

The US, like the UNP plays double games. If you did not impeach the CJ then you say that you have a corrupt head of judiciary and no justice can be expected and thereby no investor will come to Sri Lanka. If you impeach the CJ then you say that there is no fair hearing process and no justice can be expected and thereby no investor will come to Sri Lanka.
Whatever you do the answer is the same. Sri Lanka must find its own solutions to its problems. The ambassador of any country cannot assume a vice-regal status and behave like a buffoon. Before assessing the ‘state of rule of law’ the US Ambassador must realize why Gota is making such a stupid statement boldly. After all Gota is not civil administrative officer. Generally military personels are ignorant of diplomacy. But when military personnel suppress the civil liberties with their military might, there is suspicion to presume that Gota would have sent some his close associates as spies with a strong network to western countries, taking into account of the close relationship with communist countries and Islamic countries. These are countries which has raised voices against the US. Such spies could have entered the Western democratic countries on the pretext of refugees or skilled workers or other available means and send informations to Gota in their native languages or code words. The manner in which he remained silent during the this crucial hour raises some suspicion. A thorough examination of the people who had recently acquired refugee status may reveal or expose the activities of Gota in the Western world. Otherwise MR cannot dare to commit such blatant violation of human rights utilizing the State Armed Machinery and ignoring all democratic practices and traditions.

Gota is nothing but a Psycho Nut case. He need to go to USA and get his brain checked. I am telling this after analysing what he talks in the media and the way he behaves in Public.
Yesterday he suddenly became the Economic Minister…..He was telling that we waste lot of foreign exchange by importing stuff like Ginger and Ganja which we could grow in Sri Lanka. Also he is telling that foreign countries are planning to invade Sri Lanka…..I was just laughing hereing them.

First it was Gota’s wife who imported foreign Dog to lick her c……t wasting our foreign exchange, when there are so many good dogs available to do the job…..and after chasing Fredrica Jancz.
Second what a MAD country in the world want to invade Sri Lanka where 70% people live like VEDDA (native) community, live in cadjan houses,(see Rizana’s parents house) where 70% people are under nourished and with 40% under employed and with no noticable natural resources. Those countries could find better natural resources in Swaziland, ethiopia or in ivory coast.
Also Basil Rajapakse said there were one million tourists came to Sri Lanka last year where I could prove not more than 300,000 came during whole of last year…….and now robbed Divineguma 85 Billion Rupee Fund after chasing CJ Dr.Shirani Bandaranayake.
Also President say he will punish all wrong doers, when after killing so many people Mervin Silva is languishing freely without been arrested.

Very good. You can send soldiers to China, or may be Uganda and Swaziland for that matter. But what about garments. You have to look at new markets. It is not possible to send them to China as well, because China is a garment exporter and a real threat to other countries like SL, bangladesh, Indonesia etc who depend very much on the apparel sector. So, Mr Secretary, why not export apperal to Burkina Faso, Nigeria and your new found African friends. This person does not know about our export economy. Debacle of Asia.
