Why The Investigations Into Crimes Committed By Vass Is To Be Restricted To The Shyam Murder?

By Priyantha Gamage

The IGP,

Inspector General Police,

Police Headquarters

Colombo 1.

Dear Sir,

Investigations into crimes alleged to have being committed by SSP Vass Gunawardena

The standing committee of the Bar Association of Sri Lanka on Rule of Law views with deep concern the report that the investigations into the alleged crimes committed by SSP Vass Gunawardena is to be restricted to the alleged killing of the businessman Shyam and that the investigations into allegations on the commission of several other crimes that were revealed during the investigations are to be stalled.

If this is correct, it will be a travesty of justice and the betrayal of the trust that the people have on the investigative process.

We express our deep concern on this development and call upon you as the head of the police to take action regarding these revelations of commission of crimes under law.

Priyantha Gamage

Convener

Standing Committee of the BASL on Rule of Law

This is the justice system prevailing in Sri Lanka under the leadership of a Justice Minister who has nothing to do with his ministry but sucking up to the President and a Cheap Justice who has no common sense and no respect to his profession or his position. What else can we expect?

The answer to the above question is simple. Vaas and family HOLD the trump card, like Mervin the Vermin! “Just you wait, Mr. Hitler, just you wait.”

The involvement turns out to be mass murder – therefore another
Commission will be set up on the advice of the AG.
    QED!

More you rake overflow of worms from already opened can is inevitable. That is sure to spill from Head to the toes of the Administration. So they would only be happy to close as quickly as possible. If this is not done all big time patriots of the govnment would become naked with their criminal records, blood tainted hands and wallets full of blood money on which they thrive and prospe. They still need this to nurture them and their siblings in the future while fooling ignorant majority

Ok. If that is the case provide security to Shani Abeysekera of the CID and instruct him to conduct a thorough investigation into Shyam’s case bring all those resonsible & culpable to book………..

At least lets see if a proper job could be done in this case.

why is that our people – i mean BASL rule of law has no guts to pass this to the responsible authorities directly ?

I have the feeling now – it seems the minister of justice has got up from his longer sleep. He will have to address these issues by any means.

Entire nation knows that particular IGP will have to reveal all the other murder conspiracies, but the MR REGIME would not be ashamed to LEAVE something totally different to that.

What happened to the “apey miniha”doctrine.

can change to “use and dispose” condom theory any moment like the chameleons on the trees in hambantota.

our ancient kings were wary of the “aapu minissu” and kept them at a distance because they can change colours so fast, but now the “aapu minissu”,like wijeweera’s six kids have deliberately bred so fast to catch up that now they outnumber the “hitapu minissu”, and can crown the king themselves now and will always crown the future kings too.

A good example of “ape miniha” doctrine is Vaas Gunewardena??

It is obvious why other crimes are shelved. From some reports, even the report on this crime is so vague that it is suspected that Vas would go scot-free. This is no surprise to us in this country. He, his son and wife had brutally assaulted a student. In fact it was reported that his wife stood on that student’s chest. Still the case is going on.
Criminals have to be killed or pardoned. Either way the high powered perpetrators can hide the crimes committed by them. There is something called karma- it has to catch up soon.
Now lokka has gone out to the African countries to ward off evil and the karmic effects. If you cross the seas the bad period is over it seems.

Talking of Justice Minister, I feel ashamed of being a Muslim when I think of the monumental damage this man has caused to the Muslims in particular and the Nation in general. If he had only the audacity and the courage to say no to the Bahubbotha 18th amendment, just like now he is saying no to the 13th dilution, so much damage done to our Nation could have been avoided. I for once as a layman, do not understand why a so called learned lawyer could not fathom out, what was coming when so much power is given to one individual. When he came out of one his crucial meetings just before the voting and said that the party has decided to vote in favour of the 18th amendment, my heart froze for a moment and now we all know the reason why. From Chief Justice to Vaaz Gunawardane saga. What is the point in now harping about the 13th dilution, it is just like locking the stable doors after the horses have bolted.

As a Muslim, I feel ashamed the way the Justice Minister behaves. He supported the 18th amendment, shamelessly. what did he do after the EP elections. These hypocrites have a special place in HELL.

Lets not forget the other UNPers( Muslims and Sinhalese) who crossed over before Rauf Hakeem did this to the country. If they haven’t crossed over earlier, the fact Rauf Hakeem crossing over would not have mattered. So blame is on all those who strengthened the hands of the ” Royal Family” including Rauf Hakeem

Rajapassa should appoint Asswar as the Minister of Justice although he does not have the requisite qualifications nor a natural aptitude for the job. At least he will continue to interrupt Sumanthiran in parliament to be in the good books of Rajapassa!

It is a reminder of Saddam Hussain’s notorious henchman Ali Hassan Abd al-Majid al-Tikriti a.k.a Chemical Ali. The international community is watching that Sri Lanka is on a wrong track like Libya, Iraq and Egypt. Now it appears there is threat from the wife of Vass and there is liklihood that everything is going out of control. After Dr.Shirani Bandaranayake is impeached unlawfully everything appears to be in a mess. Democracy in turmoil.
