Minister of Justice Wijeyadasa Rajapakshe is to be sacked today morning following a special announcement where the responsibility for the move would be laid at the door of the United National Party (UNP) following discussions between party leader Premier Ranil Wickremesinghe and President Maithripala Sirisena.

The UNP’s Parliamentary Group sans Rajapakshe met at Temple Trees on Monday and called for Rajapakshe’s axing for the second time.
The Prime Minister then met with President Sirisena to intimate the UNP’s decision and to decide on a course of action.
Accordingly Rajapakshe’s removal will be announced today as a decision made upon a UNP request and a UNP request alone so as to save President Maithripala Sirisena any possible embarrassment.
Sources close to Wickremesinghe told Colombo Telegraph that the vacancy thus created will most probably be filled by Thalatha Athukorala or Deva Manoharan Swaminathan. Apparently Jayampathy Wickremeratne‘s name had also been proposed as a possible replacement but it had been shot down on account of his exam-cheating past which would have caused embarrassment since the subject was ‘justice’.

When Gnanasara was in contempt of court, Dealdasa brokered a deal for the monk to surrender with an instantaneous bail that exonerates Gnanasara from all charges. Most of you may not know this that when dealdasa was in the UNP opposition, he spied for the Rajapaksha’s leaking the UNP plans and strategies, the UNP party members and youth (leaders’) movement, local businessmen who supported the party, who the UNP seniors met during foreign travel, their funding sources and sponsors who kept the UNP going. I did not know this until a trusted senior UNP Minister shared this information with me. Dealdasa is a scoundrel who deserves to be hanged for obstructing and ridiculing justice.

If only Dr Jayampathy is appointed as Minister of Justice!
Dr Jayampathy Wicramaratne is a devolution friendly intellectual who had played a crucial role in the preparation of 2000 year draft constitution, that would have resolved the ethnic question package once and for all, but unfortunately it was not to be.
Since then he was as head of the Institute of Constitutional Studies had several well acclaimed books on constitution and head conducted a series of workshops and seminars s acknowledged as a foremost expert in Sri Lanka on constitutional matters.
He was one of the first to come out openly to challenge and defeat Mahinda Rajapakse in January 2015.
As a member of the Steering Committee in the present constitutional assembly his contribution is immense in trying to bring about an all inclusive draft constitution .

He will make an excellent Minister of Justice if only he agrees to accept the post.

Why hound out Wickramaratne after nearly 50 years? He and several other students were found to have taken unauthorised material into the exam hall at Peradeniya. They were suspended but allowed to sit again later. The others all sat again and passed. Wickramaratne took upto law and qualified as a lawyer. Having also got a good Master’s, he came back to Pera to do his doctorate. The senior academic who chaired the disciplinary committee supervised his thesis! If Peradeniya could give him a chance to redeem himself, why rake this up now? His thesis on fundamental rights is the standard text used by students, lawyers and judges. No doubt he made a misdeed but he was punished for that. Society punishes people for misdeeds but also allows them to make amends. That is what the great University of Peradeniya did. Why keep punishing him all his life?

The true color of NM and Colin came out when they worked with Attanagalla Queen Sirimavo on the constitutional change.
So Jayampathy has yet to go along way to go to prove that he has changed. Jayampathy did leave his clown comrades, the Joint Comedy Club. But now he is with the 21st century fox. He has to break the barriers to prove his true identity. Jayampathy’s electability is not confirmed like Kathirgamar. So like Kathirgamar ended up to surrender to SLFP, Jeyamathy has no other ways but to service Ranil’s whimsies.

I see this in a different way.
There is a move to isolate and weaken the President.
Although he is the Commander-in-Chief, all the Commanders were appointed at the whims and fancies of the PM. A person who openly vouch to punish his own Army was appointed as the Army Commander. A person who left the Navy and worked at the US Embassy in Colombo was reinstated later and appointed as the Navy Commander. Although the President is the Commander-in-Chief, their loyalty is with the PM. Eg: Army Commander – we see his true colours now. Then there is a move to remove IGP too. If successful, PM will make sure to appoint someone whose loyalty lies with him not with the President.
Then there is another move to remove the Justice Minister. For this too, PM will appoint someone loyal to him. All the key Ministries are held by UNP Ministers already who are loyal to the PM. Plus PM can control any move in the Courts undesirable to him or his partners in crime.
Even the Defence Secretary is hailing from a diehard UNP family. Although he is a good person, his loyalty is undoubtedly with the PM.
A close confidant of the PM was appointed as Secretary to the President to penetrate President’s inner circle.
I don’t know whether President can see what I see. PM is encircling the President or rather he is spreading a net to trap the President. If President is wise, at least now he will open his eyes to see what is happening around him. He should retain both the IGP and the Justice Minister without falling for Ranil’s trap further.
What the President should understand is PM doesn’t need him anymore! His deal is now with MR/JO (minus WW).

Betraying people at the 2020 Presidential Election is nothing to them. Any fool can see the selfish motive of Rajapaksas and JO (minus WW).
Therefore, the destiny of the country is in President’s hand. He should decide who is contesting for Presidency in 2020. It is apparent that he was not aware of being used this way by PM and fortunately he showed some unusual grit to retain Presidency, something the country should be grateful for. Not a single Sinhalese Buddhist in Sri Lanka wants the current PM to become the future President. I just watched a another ” sacking of Buddha Sasasana & Judiciary Protector UNP Wije by Wahabi Kabir…..while having my sugar free Whole Meal Toast and Short Black…….Kabir has given the President an ultimatum…….Sack Wije or ???????…. .I know Kalu Ajii. Dr Ranil’s Alsatian and the Poodle Club Baby Minister all want Wije sacked…. I mean that is a formidable .. gathering along side the Wahbis , Elite , Vellalas and the Anglicans……… …… Can’t they sack Wije from the UNP first ?……. Why Sira has to do the dirty work?….. Where is Keslwatta Kid and Uncle Karu…………
