With Elections In Sight Government “Resurrects” Thajudeen Yet Once Again

The Wasim Thajudeen murder case which has been lying dormant for a long time came up again yesterday when the CID informed Colombo Chief Magistrate Darshika Wimalasiri that statements had been recorded from several individuals who had close connections with the family of deposed president Mahinda Rajapaksa.

Wasim Thajudeen

Court was also informed that the CID was investigating two Navy vehicles which had been used under suspicious circumstances between May 1, 2012 and May 30, 2012.

Deputy Solicitor General Dilan Ratnayake meanwhile is said to have informed Court that the CID needed more time to investigate ‘suspicious phone calls’ that had originated from the presidential secretariat, the president’s house and Temple Trees at about the time the killing had taken place.

The Thajudeen case was brought up intensely in the election campaigns of President Maithripala Sirisena and that of the United National Party, in January and August 2015 respectively.

The Magistrate fixed the next hearing for May 3.

This murder is worth kept alive for the next Election propaganda too, not only to exploit a racial angle and
MRs family ties, but a means of cheap politics to even the highest rank (H.E.) in the Island to play with.?

Nah…….. replaying a broken record, not because Thajudeen was murdered, but because UNPers just mouthing this but at the same time blocking and protecting the perpetrators. An innocent official, a police inspector, is being held in rpison for no reason, for acting under duress from his superiors. Where as the perpetrators are guilty of the crime, the present government is guilty of protecting the criminals.

So reviving Thajudeen is just clutching on straws to camouflage the MEGA BOND SCAM, voters do not forget Ranil the nit wit and his creative evidence. Thajdeen? Has anyone heard of CRY WOLF, so it goes no one no longer listen to your discredited calling WOLF till you get kicked out by the voters.

This is turning into a joke and insult to the Family of murdered Wasim Thajudeen…

This Government must get down #INTERPOL to investigate all these Rajapaksas Criminal networks cases.

Had this Government involved INTERPOL on day one when they came to power the Rajapaksas and their Criminal will be facing the death penalty or life in prison…

They can pull call recordings from any service provider for small cases why the delay in this case!?

Vultures from bankrupt UNP & SLFP continue to feast on your tortured & charred body, so shamelessly. Only for desperate electoral gains. But, Justice will be done. However, slow. As an ashamed Sri Lankan, heartfelt apologies to your grieving family. Rest in peace Wasim Thajudeen.

      Dear Government,

If this headline has any basis i’do say Stop treating Thajudeen as a commodity which can be flogged about at will to garner some votes.

The Government should NOT play politics with dead people and allow them to RIP. With the victory of the last Presidential and General elections his grave was dug up and exhumed only for politics and nothing materialized except giving high hopes to the family members and later leaving them high and dry.

The Maithripala Sirisena and his Government will not even leave a dead person and his family in peace when it comes to elections.

      Shrikharan ,

It is the DEAD , BEGGARS , Women , Unemployed , Homeless ,
Sick and on top of all these , THE FOOLS who form the majority
in the country that is the target of these crooks . Manamperi
was the target of the UNP in 1977 . How many Manamperis since
then ? Common sense is that you wait for your turn in a queue .
But why this Bond Scam jumped the queue ? You already have a
huge backlog of cases of MARA gang in pending ! Politics in our
country is the Mafia to us now and it is an important election for
the people to react against all kinds of trickery . MARA gave it
after ten years of loot and SIRA’s Christmas coming too early !
Ranil muddied the water right in the beginning to confuse the
affairs by going UNITY with Sira . The new MARA SIRA RANIL
gang up should be defeated and the JVP should be given a test .

You seem to take everything for granted.
You don’t even have the right to expect justice.
Don’t even think about justice in your wildest dream.

This is cheap. Both by the govt and by the media. It is not proper to disrespect a dead person continuously. Just think about how much that father and mother would be dieing every moment they see this. That is not fair. Think about yourself.

Colombo Pong Cing, Lanantha, Thajudeen, 18 Billion stolen money ……. all of the scripts that won the 100 days government are re-emerging in LG election manifestos. Ranil, New king have already announced their candidature for 2020 election. Only piece yet to appear is from the last 100 days Election Gillmart manifesto is “NO Leader, No Commander, No Soldier will be prosecuted”. That is because as per the Sharia-Yahapalanaya government, they have achieved it by selling Hangbangtota Port to China and that is how silencing the UNHRC. So the 100 days government need not to repeat an achieved goal.

Now no one is talking about thousands of Tamil, Sinhala and Muslim civilians massacred by Tamil terrorists. Thajuddin, Lasantha have become more important to the goons of this Government than those thousands of innocent civilians massacred by Tamil terrorists. Bring those LTTE terrorists hiding in western countries and try them.

How low can one stoop to win an election. MS is singing the same song he sang three years ago just to garner votes. As Ratnasiri Wickremanayake once said the votes you get will depend on the lies that are uttered. More lies more votes. Our people are taken as fools.

When you consider the feelings of the family of the late Thajudeen and how they were cynically used by the politicians in the present government, you realize what an absolutely despicable bunch we have in RW and MS. Even the dead are not safe in their greed for power. To achieve public trust, parliament to should provide for the position of an independent counsel, like in the US which has Mueller investigating Trump, who can investigate and indict the criminals. Lawyers like Shibly Aziz, Kanag-Iswaran, and Kodituwakku can head a team of non-corrupt lawyers with absolute integrity and give everyone the justice they keep begging for but never get from the cynical immoral PM and the spineless President.

I heard some strange, very funny though but looks true type of Story. Mahinda Rajapakse says, that every one ad anyone that breathes inside the parliament got some reward from PTL because the bond scam was so successful. Ranil also has got lot of Dough. He has thought what the Fk, I should keep some too and handed it over to R the Liar (banker) Who kept it underneath the moving chair. some one (Arjuna Ranathunga) so and moved the abandoned it. So, he is thinking, perhaps, quitting politics because no point of staying there anymore. Some how money has ended up in Gujarat Province, taken by some one who has connections there.

    • 0
      1

Correction to the above story. Money is in Sri lanka but the person has relatives in Gujarat. Arjun Mahendran has brought money to keep underneath the chair. Ranatunga is used to remove abandoned boxes. did not need transport. On the other hand, JJayasooriya is still valuing and walking around the c the car and he is not in a hurry to read the report because there is one and half years left. Now Ranil says do not harass innocent. Now you all know I did not steal anything. further to that he says, the cabinet has thieves who stole porcelain and cogarettes. Because both items are saleable outside.

Begining from Gordon Weiss, Trevor Grant from down under the Western Journalist thrived on Sri Lanka dead during the war……………………….
Now the Yahapalanaya has taken the cue from them & selling Thajudeen and Lasantha for election gains.

Its time we left the dead to Rest In peace.
The avercious Politicians have no respect for the members of these families.

      Taraki

Isn’t it exactly why every citizen must demand investigation into war crimes and crime against humanity? Are you implying war crimes and crime against humanity committed between 5th April 1971 and to date by SLFP was necessary and good for the country than the UNP ones.

Its just not the UNP or SLFP, its about the armed forces which have been the permanent feature of the state. The forces are in perpetual existence. The mentally deranged murderers and torturers are living among you including the dead squads, failed revolutionaries, liberators, ….. home guards, … rapists, looters, ..

You seem to take this aspect of this island’s history as some thing to score points.

During Chandrika’s presidency she appointed three commissions to investigate war crimes and crime against humanity between 1987 and 1990, for a limited period. All three commissions investigated 30,000 cases of disappearances, identified the perpetrators was ready to charge them when those commissions were abruptly dissolved. Chandrik’s uncle Anuruddha Ratwatte refused to allow indictments against those security personnel and hired murderers simply because the armed forces were engaged in a war in the North. He was worried about army morale and possible mutiny/coup.

Why didn’t the UNP government of 1977 prosecute the weeping widow Siri Mao for war crimes committed by her armed forces in 1971? Why didn’t Chandrika government prosecute the previous UNP regime?

Well if you haven’t learned anything in the past 46 years there isn’t much hope you are going to learn anything in the next few years.

I envy your ability to grieve selectively.

For all these three years what have we found out? Firstly, it is not an accident as it was portrayed to be and the JMO who misreported was dealt (inadequately) by the Medical Council. Top Police Brass, including a DIG was involved in the cover up fooling the people that it was an Accident. The former Police Top brass was kept in remand for more than 1 year and had to be released on bail. Other than that what else? If this were a case of homicide then what was the motive? The idea of a love triangle was floated but that too fizzled out. So the murder of a very young father is traded on the political platform. Should not we as Sri Lankans feel ashamed of this?

Independent List is showing better odds than the UNP, in Beruwala despite the Muslims are being urged to vote UNP by Hakeem, more than Mustafa , Kabir and Marrickkar..
Foul Mouth Rajitha who is desperate to dent the support for Pottuwa, I thought would have put Thajudeen on top his ammunition ..
But not so..All he is doing is to attack Rajapaksa saying Rajapaksa is no friend of Muslims.

In Yapanaya one school girl was raped, tortured and killed. civilians were jailed. DIG who assisted politicians was jailed. but, the two politicians were not touched. They both are doing fine. Why no one is talking about that. One, Mavai Senthiraka, is sidelined. He is waiting to become a National .list MP. Besides he has become a buddhist and forgot his support to LTTE.

A talented sportsman was murdered apparently because powerful young politicians’ children were disappointed that they could not perform equally/ more than equally well, in the sport he excelled in.
A medical practitioner uttered lies to protect the murderer(s).
Police assisted in covering up this murder most foul.

This can happen only in Sri Lanka where thousands have been murdered in two civic insurrections and in one civil war.

Even now sporadic murders by law enforcers go on – none appears to be bothered.

I dread to think of the future with all these people in power coming back to run the country with the same law enforcers, state lawyers & judges in situ.

Looking at the graphic accompanying the article one wonders, aren’t the injuries caused by a vehicle accident after all? A major head injury suggesting the easiest kind of attack in a murder is missing. I suggest the people of this forum take off their anti-Rajapaksha tinted glasses and look at the graphic again.

    • 0
      1

The graphics suggest extensively tortured person – not a motor accident. The smoke inhaled
in the car fire was an indicator of a person burnt alive? These are typical signs of Forces assisted murder.
