The hunger strike launched by the Tamil political prisoners has been temporarily called off until 15th December 2015. The prisoners have come to this decision following a discussion with Minister D.M Swaminathan, Tamil National Alliance Parliamentarian M.A Sumanthiran, and Commissioner General of Prisons on the decisions taken at the meeting of high level government officials yesterday.

RE: Tamil Political Prisoners: Hunger Strike Temporarily Called Off
That is good. Each meed to state his own case, and get individual release. No Release for killers, murderers, rapists, and ethnic cleansers and war criminals.
Otherwise they would have died of starvation.
They have learned from the Chief minister Karunadhi of Tamil Nadu, and Wimal Weerawansa of Lanka, the Land of Native Veddah Aethho.
They are all very disappointing, because they stop their fast very early.

They called off their hunger strike when they realised that the government and TNA are cheats and cannot be trusted any further. They have learnt a good lesson at last.
Hereafter they will decide on their own what is good for them and how to achieve it.

Glad that these life-risking threats have moved their case forward, to some extent, so
that a majority of their colleauges benefit. This aso brings into focus the PT Act
that has to be replaced sooner than later.

Decisions taken yesterday? I bet that the prisoners know more than anybody else since the public has not been informed of any decisions.

Mr President,
Feel free to pardon the convicted Tamil political prisoners. I have seen estimates that there are 40-60 of them.
Please do not forget to inform us of why the prisoners were convicted. It will be interesting to know what kind of convicts are released.
Please also inform us if any Tamil political prisoners are not pardoned and give a clear reason for your decision.
Thank you.

I do not think the Tamil speaking HOSTAGES will ever be released by the TERRORIST state of Sri Lanka. Mahinda Gota were frank but Maithiri Ranil are sly terrorists holding Tamil hostages

The JVP Terrorists were released after the war was over without any conditions. Wimal Weerawansa – Somawansa Amerasinghe etc. Wimal Weerawansa held a post as a minister in the MR Govt. Why these Tamil Youths are held over 10 to 15 years without any charges
