President Maithripala Sirisena, in a shocking revelation, said former President Mahinda Rajapaksa could not show a majority in Parliament as the prices of MPs “shot up” surprisingly.
“Some MPs even asked for Rs.500 million to cross over. I personally know about such situations. It was like calling for tenders. That is why Mahinda Rajapaksa could not show a majority in Parliament, ” Sirisena said in an interview with Daily Mirror.
Sirisena’s brazen remarks have set off a firestorm on social media as this is a first time a President of the country had openly made casual remarks about horse-trading MPs in Parliament. Many claimed that citizens should lodge complaints with the Bribery Commission calling for action on Sirisena for not disclosing the information on bribing MPs.

This is something that I have just discovered:
.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eEn5YadstQU
.
A monk upbraiding My3 for his present conduct. As interesting as the five minutes of the monk, are the comments that appear below.
.
To start with, I was not able to identify the doughty monk. Is anybody else able to?
.
Throughout he addresses My3, calling on My3 to recall what he had promised during the election campaign, and recalling that soon after the election victory there was acceptable conduct for some time. Nothing about Ranil.
.
Just a few rational comments in decent language approving of what the monk is saying.
.
The majority of comments are in the most obscene Sinhala, and they get repetitive. Ranil and the monk are lambasted together; very little substance. We should be concerned. I feel that most people who read it would do so with revulsion, but why do so few contradict through comments? What we read and write in Colombo Today is of much less consequence than these obscenities.

You should go to Vimal Weerawans’s LankaCNews site to read how vitriolic comments could become. All written in Sinhalese.

What we have in our pot comes with the ladle. How honest were our previous presidents?
What has come to the top now is the cream of our society. Is our country is ready for a complete and total cleanup , and if so who is to bell the cat?

Mano!
Not the Cream, it is the Curdled Milk that has risen to the Top!

What was the Bribery Commissioner and his officers and the Income Tax Department doing? I am posing this question because I knew how business people and others for even a very small bribe were pulled during During Felix Dias Bandaranayake’s period by the Bribery Commissioner Ian Wickremanayake. Some were tortured. Had Ian Wickremayakae been alive, will he pull the first citizen of the country when speaking in such a manner? Are there no person like the late Ian Wickremanayake?

Is this What is called Democracy in Sri Lanka?
We elect a Candidate who Says He/She follows the Principles of a Chosen Political Party!
The Elected MP then Switches Sides, for a ‘Bribe’, to a Political Party with opposing Principles!
It is not the People Who decide on the Way they are Governed, but the Greed for Tempting Cash by Politicians who have no idea of the Constitution!

Sarath Abaya..
If not for the UNP there wouldn’t have been a country. Here is the record. SLFP.
Sinhala only. Reversed later. All three languages are there now. Sinhala only germinated the ethnic problem.
Sinhalese ownd busses were taken over. Daughter gave them back partly.
Sirimao established SLIC. Chandrika gave it back. Over 220 state owned enterprises 200 making losses which have become employment agencies.Who is to be blamed for these reversals. Father mother or the daughter.
Country is now run on the steam generated by UNP policies.
Open Economy . Free trade zones. Mahaweli and three hundred Garment factories. There are 100000 vacancies in garment factories at any given time.Independent commisions.
SLFP governed for thirty seven years and the UNP fot 33 years. I could think of only the Road network built by Mahinda to their credit. No credit could be given to the war victory as the SLFP created it with the Sinhala only policy and problem is not yet solved and is simmering underneath.

Upali
You forgot to mention the Land reform law brought in 1972 by Sirimavo, which took all the profitable private lands owned by various people and ruined them.

We would like to know Mahinda’s opinion on this comment.

Yes indeed! He is being unusually silent!

rohanabey – Medamulana Meeharaka Mahinda is uneducated and uncultured. You have to get an opinion from G.L. Pe is, on his behalf!
/
Eagle Eye / December 10, 2018
Kamalawathie,
Medamulana Meeharaka Mahinda may be uneducated and uncultured but he managed to fk the Demala megalomaniac Prabhakaran and his uncultured terrorists. That is what Sinhalayo wanted and he gave it. Whether Mahinda can give you guys an opinion is irrelevant for us.

Mahinda is all that and a coward too. During the war he built a bunker under the Janadhipathi Mandiraya to hide from Tigers. In order to hide his cowardice, he jailed the real hero SF after the war was over.
.
Now our REB (Rice Eating Buffaloes) and GEH (Grass Eating Humans) go and worship at his feet. The Sangha bless him. Where were these when SF was jailed? He could have died like a common criminal there, branded as a traitor, if not for the Satahara Varam Devas. If you have seen the movie Gladiator you will know what I mean.
/
Eagle Eye / December 10, 2018
edwin rodrigo,
Our REB (Rice Eating Buffaloes) and GEH (Grass Eating Humans) that include Demalu (Hindu and Muslim) plus two legged U.N.P. donkeys got together and removed the courageous leader who defeated Demala terrorism and put the country into a solid development path and handed over the country to a ‘Thuppahi’ leader who ruined this country. President managed to save the country from this ‘Thuppahiya’ but the same REB (Rice Eating Buffaloes) and GEH (Grass Eating Humans) keep on worshiping this ‘Thuppahi’ bank robber and want him back.

People who criticise Sharmini Serasinghe do not know she’s a good Buddhist devotee who frequents temles like Vajirarama, Gangarama and Kuppiyawatte. She offers dana to Maha Sangha resembling the ancient Visaka Maha Upasika.

Whatmore, like Sharmini I am not a Buddhist. I am a devoted Catholic. I thank God for creating this beautiful soul of Sharmini Serasinghe

based on this video evidence of admission of corruption from the horses mouth itself, the President, is it not possible for the civil societies like the Friday Forum or other civil societies to sue the President and Mahinda?

Once again its proven, in his own words, that Maithripala is protecting illegal political activities in SL> By not appointing a Presidential Commission to investigate the bribes offered to UNP Parliamentarians, the President has become a party to this act. A case should be filed in the court of law against the President as he too has over the phone supported the act of bribery.
/
Eagle Eye / December 10, 2018
Buddhist?
Number of Goo N.P. MPs had expressed their desire to cross over to Mahinda’s Government but they have changed their mind after ‘Thuppahiya’ bribed them with hefty sums stolen from the Central Bank. These guys who were making lot of noise became silent after they got their piece of cake and decided to protect the Bank Robber. Sajith also showed that he does not care for the country. If he had guts to take the challenge when President offered him the PM post, the ‘Yahapalana’ government could have been saved. But he got chickened out. At the next general election, Sinhala voters will teach them a good lesson.

Srisena would not have spoken without first hand knowledge of it. After all it appears that he was involved in the Horse ( DONKEY) trading?

So ! what about it and why all the fuss. The whole bloody country is corrupt to the core and there is no doubt it. What beats the issue is why all the shit is thrown at MS. Sure he has made a mess of everything but what about the main bugger RW. He is more corrupt beyond imagination, corrupt to the marrow of his bones. What about MR ?????????? There is no need to discuss about his nefarious activities because it stinks more than a festering bucket of shit.
What about all the maggots in parliament who are in power thanks to the voters. Yes ! thanks to the voters now and forever.
Sri lankans along the line are becoming a stinking , laughing, idiotic , ugly nation of people.
Take the whole stinking shit lot to Heaven and still the buggers will moan and groan. God only knows why.
Give them the best in this world and the idiots will not know the value.
If God in his great majesty offered them peace they will reject it .
If the Devil in all his ugliness offered them war with a hefty bribe they will accept it.
There is nothing good that Lankans can be given other than for the whole lot to be wiped out and start from scratch.
” If Thou ! thy grace should take away nothing pure in them would stay. All their good will turn to ill.”
