After Learning Of Balachandran’s Killing Mahinda Went To Bellanwila Temple And Said ‘This Should Not Have Happened’

Although the President Mahinda has not commented on Tiger leader Velupillai Prabhakaran’s son, Balachandran, he knew that Balachandnran was killed by the security forces, Colombo Telegraph can reveal today.

President Rajapaksa was shocked and distraught when he was informed that Tiger leader Velupillai Prabhakaran’s son, Balachandran, had been killed, Colombo Telegraph reliably learns.  The President had at that point traveled without his usual security detail to the Bellanwila Temple where he had spent some moments in deep reflection.  Colombo Telegraph learns that he had said ‘this should not have happened.’  Although the President has not commented on Balachandran, political analysts opine that this indicates that there was no ‘decision from the top’ with respect to the fate of Prabhakaran’s child.

The Sri Lankan government has not indicated any knowledge about how Balachandran was killed, a position that is not inconsistent with the above revelation.

A series of photographs taken a few hours apart and on the same camera, show Balachandran Prabhakaran. One of them shows the boy sitting in a bunker, alive and unharmed, apparently in the custody of Sri Lankan troops. Another, a few hours later, shows the boy’s body lying on the ground, his chest pierced by bullets.  The authorities always said Prabhakaran’s son was killed in cross-fire, as troops moved in to take the LTTE’s last stronghold, located on a scrap of coastline near Mullaitivu in the north-east of the country. In these photographs, which digital image analysis indicates were taken with the same camera, we can see he has been shot five times in the chest.

“These photographs are particularly important evidentially, because they prove that Balachandran was not killed in crossfire, or in a battle. His death was deliberate and calculated. The pictures fill in chilling details on the circumstances of his murder — and leave the Sri Lankan government with yet more questions to answer about just how systematic the executions at the end of the war appear to have been. Last year, we first revealed video footage and stills which showed Balachandran’s body shortly after his execution. These were analysed for us by a respected forensic pathologist, Professor Derrick Pounder, to assess the cause of death.” said the director, No Fire Zone: The Killing Fields of Sri Lanka”, Callum Macrae.

Professor Derrick identified what he thinks is the first of the shots to be fired at the boy: “There is a speckling (on the skin) from propellant tattooing, indicating that the distance of the muzzle of the weapon to this boy’s chest was two to three feet or less. He could have reached out with his hand and touched the gun that killed him.”

The professor said the angle of the shots suggested that after that bullet was fired, the boy fell backwards and was then shot four more times. Unlike the men around him, there was no indication that the boy had been blindfolded or bound, so it was possible that the boy may have been made to watch the execution of his guards before the gun was turned on him.

I am a father of three sons. Will the President or Got A Baya for one second replace the face of Prabaharan’s son with one of their own sons and look at the picture of this 11 year old, how will they feel?

There should be a limit to brutality!

        Really ?

So why not we the sinahalaya dont go against Rajapakshes then.

They also prompted to kill 3 innocient youth in Rathupaswala.

They also killed avalanche of tamil civilians in the brutal war end.

So what is the scale to differetiate – that Rajapakshes are not terrorists/facists/criminals ?

Even if internationally banned organisations like LTTE carried out astrocities of all unacceptable grades, how can a govt /regime elected by people´s vote react to that very same manner ?

Why dont they the Rajapakshes allow interntional iinvestigations or fair investigations to be held on the alleged war crimes ?

Why does SF who was the commander of the army say – he is ready for any kind of investigations to clear the matter ?

What is hidden by MR and thugs from the locals and ICs in terms of the killings ?

So this is not wonder to us CT readership because we consider you as one of the assistant working for Raja extra judicials killings.
By any chance, is Mervin silva your father ? He once spread the view that he could have many more sons unknown to him when considering the way he went on with unknown numbers of women across the country. That was Mervin – the driver or bon licking boy of elite families in the past. Today´s bone licking Azwer or the like will give you more about Raja family better.

There is room to believe it is the same brain-damaged man/men that ordered the massacre of surrendering Nadesan and others – coming under pre-arranged White Flag (2009) incident – who are behind this barbarian
murder of an innocent child. That consideration that was given to Wijeweera’s wife and children – accused of similar crimes against the State – was not shown to little Balachandran. Why? Because he was Tamil?? So where is the room for the Sinhala and Tamil people to come together again – unless all these heartless murderers are snuffed outin the full glare of the public. Just a few minutes at Bellanwila Temple cannot wash away the terrible sin.

Those of us who saw that tape of BJP senior Yashwant Sinha in Chennai will recall he passionately asked “why slaughter a little child for the sins of his father?” Sinha pledged the BJP will go all out to find those behind this savage murder. And the Sri Lankan Army’s defenders insist it is a disciplined army functioning according to the letter and spirit of all civilised modern armies of the 21st century????
It is not only the Sinhala residents of Weliveriya (W.P) who will stoutly deny this groundless claim.

Heartless bugger – you should have children for your own.

Leaving aside that Prabakaran was a brutal man. But why should his little son should pay for it ?

If Rajapakshes do whatever against the humanity in today ´s lanka – so do you think it is right to take a revenge from his offsprings ?

At least learn to be civilized from your stay offered to you by american state. I hate your kind of sinhalayas. They are a curse for our country.

Wait and see how Dittadammawedaneeya will punish these rascals soon.
Truth will succeed one day ( that is what my granny murmered to my ears at that time).

      Abhaya,

In a wicked way Balachandran is symbolic of the horrific price Sri Lanka’s most vulnerable, her children have paid.

Whether they are Tamil, Sinhalese or Muslim. Child soldiers or otherwise. We let them all down.

Living as a child in this brutal society that provides cover to scumbags such yourself is not easy.

We are an impotent nation that cannot provide protection to our own children.

Balachandaran committed no crime. He was born the youngest kid of a Monster. His only crime. He deserved our protection and care. As a Sri Lankan citizen he had certain rights under our constitution.

Those who took his life violated the law in this country. They are criminals. Child killers. Period.

We proved to Balachandran everything he was told about the Sinhalese by the LTTE was in fact correct. We were indeed barbaric.

I am ashamed to identify myself as a Sinhalese Sri Lankan, when I know you are one as well.

      Cheers!

We need to check his mtDNA to see whether the guy is known to have a mother. A child born to a mother should have some feelings. But this bugger Abhaya are feelingless – creature. May be Rajapakshe blood is flowing in his vessels too. Who knows.. it is said that Mervin is known to BLACK box info of Raja families and that was the reason Rajas allowed Mervin to go amok as he thought is right. However, he has become a used condom to this day, that is the reason Mervin is mouthfolded at least for the moment.

Mr Birdbrain, Terrorists are not born but society makes them.

I have no doubt, that you are caught by an asylum camp in the states. THat is the reason for you to become this much of cynical.

So the guys of your kind are not made by good cultured educated ones for sure. Just becasue of few radical killed few babies and infants, should we kill their children ? You may be well aware that Balachandran was killed by RAJA preset plans. So had they killed that other female Singer later found naked.

Wait and see, how Rajapakshe will end up their lives. People will see it sooner than one would even guess.

You have great potential to turn you into a child killer, serial rapist and killer, a paedophile, or all of them at the same time. In other words a psychopath in the making.

Make sure you don’t incriminate yourself as new techniques are available to investigators who can build a profile of a potential psychopath from your comments.

Agree with you every word Mr. Nobody would could turn idiots like Abhaya into normal beings and it is definitely our ablities. I am sorry for his family and americans to use the man a d-i-r-e-c-t-o-r for that particular company.

Even if you would straighten the dog tail, this kind of idiots would not change their thinking potentials; comparable to mutants that would never cause positive outcomes within the human cell after them becoming cancerous. These men are malignant for entire society. Not a joke, Abhaya´s comments most have no basis.

This action of his reflects his guilty mind he is infact not feeling sorry for VP’s son but rather agonising over how this has comme out into the public fold and seriously worried about the consequences as the commander of the armed forces.

rajash, then why go to the temple.he is worried about the consequences all right, but from whom is the question.temple visit has the answer.

Anyway i’am happy that he showed some remorse and looks like he did not know about the order given to kill, which is a relief for me because just imagine having a president who is a child killer.Obviously there is some mentally deranged characters in his inner circle and his horoscope also says he will get killed by them one day, just like what happenned to Rabin when he tried to reconcile with the palestinians.

Shankar – “Anyway i’am happy that he showed some remorse and looks like he did not know about the order given to kill”

…but then he should have openly condemned the killing, he is the commander of the armed forces.

I am sure who ever killed VPs’ son and all other high profile leaders of LTTE, must have consukted the Presidnet ot atleast informed him of thier action either before ro after the killing.

Colombo Telegraph is speculating a lot on these photographs.
First what makes CT so certain that this is a SL army bunker.
Part of a soldiers uniform and a hand is hardly any evidence to come to such a conclusions.
The child does not seem alarmed or scared as he would if he was in enemy custody.
The original photograph showed more slipper clad feet around the body and now it has been edited out. The shadow on the body shows the the person taking the photograph is not wearing a helmet or a cap, suggesting he may not be a soldier.
The bullet wounds have begun to darken, suggesting that shooting must have taken place some time before the photos were taken. No explanation for the missing blood and why if it was cleaned.
Finally evidence from mcCrae is like asking the thieves mother!!!

No need to argue or expert advise on such criminal acts and issues. Go for a international probe and credible investigation to free all our names and honour of the military establishment. We all know what has happened and glad that we are free from one terrorist outfit. But we all dont want to caught in a official terrorist outfit. If we want be free from these criminals, we have to accept a international probe, If they say that no one has done anything wrong , we all are glad. Otherwise they cant die as good human biengs and we cant live in this country as a responsible nation. If they dont do that, we will and we have to democratilly change the situation in coming days. Criminals are criminals. It doesnt matter they are in high office or anywhere.
