Attorney General Yuvanjan Wijayathilake was issued a notice by the Appellate Court today to appear before the Court on February 5 in relation to the writ application that was filed by JVP Mp Vijitha Herath against top LTTE leader KP who was receiving patronage of the Rajapaksas.
Through the writ, the JVP sought an order to arrest Kumaran Pathmanathan aka KP and for the Court to probe into his assets and on the reasons behind why he received immunity under the Rajapaksa regime.
The writ application was filed on January 18 but was heard today.
It has been reported that the vast wealth accumulated by KP through his dealings for the LTTE and a fleet of ships under his name was taken under the control of the Rajapaksas when he was taken into custody. He has however remained silent regarding these claims.

Well I was angry and agitated when LTTE decided to evict all Muslims from Jaffna within a short notice of 24 hours, just as I was angry and helpless when Balu Senas were creating havoc in A & B with state patronage.
The striking dissimilarity between the two incidents were LTTE was a Terrorist Organization and MARA was an elected President of all communities. In that sense MARA’s atrocities are far worse than that of LTTE. Besides, LTTE never barricaded the MUslims under cover of curfew and attack them mercilessly like the morons and thugs of BALU SENAS with state patronage and there was no loss of lives even whilst the mass evacuation of Muslims from the North.
In both instances, the instigators paid their supreme price through natural justice, didn’t they Sumane.

Minister Patali Champika Ranawaka was very critical of the sampur coal power project claiming that the Indians are trying to cheat us in the billions when he was the minister in charge of power.
