The President, Mahinda Rajapaksa is the key architect of disturbing the peaceful meeting conducted at the Sirikotha yesterday and day before yesterdady the Colombo Telegraph can reveal today .
This meeting and exhibition was organised by several civil society organisations to commemorate the disappeared persons with the participation of the parents of the those disappeared. Most of those who were expected to travel from the North was prevented by the Government by blocking three buses they were traveling to Colombo. It is reported that this venue has been selected as no other venue was available for such a exhibition during the CHOGM.
Amidst strict surveillance and security, an “Unidentified groups of people” managed to paste posters all over the country describing this meeting as a “terrorist event” undermining the sovereignty of the country and the victorious forces. State media aired hate commentaries on this event. Thousands of of SMS messages were generated from unknown numbers (See the message below). When the meeting was inaugurated day before yesterday, a large number of organised crowds started pelting stones and attacked the venue. Hundreds of people who were to join the event were turned back by thugs, organised by Colombo MC member of PA Kahandagamage and police.
Yesterday, a groups of BBS lead by monk Galagada Atte Gnanasara stormed into the venue by force and attacked the peaceful protesters and he was also assaulted by the UNP supporters. Hundreds of police officers backed by intelligence officers kept watching the event. Four groups of thugs, mainly organised by Minister Mervin Silva were stationed around the Sirikotha to attack the participants, who were expected to hold a vigil at 7.00 p.m. Preparations were also made to take all the Tamil Participants to Mirihana police for questioning by a team of TID officer, who were in fact present near the venue. In the mean time with the intervention of lawyers who came on request of the organisers, the participants were permitted to leave without a scene.
The ruling party sources told the Colombo Telegraph that two days ago, President Rajapaksa has given specific instructions to security officers and Minister Mervin Silva to prevent the holding of this rally and given further instructions to DIG Anura Senanayake to coordinate with the BBS.

Every Fight , Every Disappearance , Every murder , every rape, every protest , is attributed to the President or his brother , Shows the level of foolishness in SL people .
/
Rohan / November 16, 2013
If the Rajapakse family had addressed those deaths, rapes and such, people would not have attributed those to the Family. The family sent the killer of Bharatha to Singapore and continue to protect him. The Family protected the killer of Khurram and the rapists of his girl friend. Now whose level of foolishness is on display, Sarrrojini?

The attack on the opposition has commenced after the conclusion of the NPC election. An attempt was made to further destabilise the UNP by using the Maithri Gunaratne and Sirasa clique. When that failed a concerted effort was made to attack the leadership council lead by Karu Jayasuriya.
The objective is to consolidate the regime using the CHOGM and have a snap election begining of next year. Time and Money is running out for the regime and panic has overcome sanity. MR is now getting rather desperate to hang on.
/
MrRetort / November 15, 2013
Quite right, participants have realized what the state is up to. What cannot be described by media was pretty evident to all the participating countries.MR the CHOGM is ongoing LOKETA PARAKASE GEDRATA MARAGATE to all the delegates is clear to all. Money running out and after the budget public will start to realize the impact or the implication of MAGUL THAMASHAS carried out on loans. So get ready for elections soon and then to pay for their KOLAM. No government is going to be backing us for colossal amount of spending for the image building of the family of Rajapaksa. Only henchmen who eat the crumbs fall from their table would enjoy it.

If people know his true face, he will be treated as trash.
He is hiding behind a Sinhala Buddhist mask and covering
his nakedness with a sarong and satakaya.
True face or false face the man is ugly in every sense.
This family must go by all means.

If VPs gradual decline and final fate began with his miscalculation on
the Mavilaru anicut, have the Rajapakses dug their own grave with CHOGM? Every passing hour from yesterday must be hell to the President.
There is information communal attacks on Tamils have already started
when a bus heading for Jaffna was stoned and attacked off Puttalam.
The Brits must make certain Prince Charles leaves the island pronto without any harm to him and his wife.

This is the only Hambanthota [Edited out], a fake crook thief President in whole of Sri Lankia’s history one can ever find.
It’s only by bringing the [Edited out] to Hague, the people of all communities of Sri Lanka could get Justice.
It is time for CHOGM to act now and act fast before the [Edited out] ruin our whole country for ever.

Typical of the MARA regime and Nationalist Sinhalese to brand any and all dissent and call for justice as “terrorist” .

The absence of the Indian Flag being displayed in the city of Colombo for CHOGM is very conspicuous.
/
Max Silva / November 15, 2013
Gamini,
Are you upset about it?
/
gamini / November 15, 2013
Max Silvo, it is not I who is upset. It is your Pay Master MR, who is upset that Woman Mohan Singhe has not come to his Chew Gum Party. Hence he has reduced the display of the Indian Flag decorating Colombo. Why do not you count the number of Indian Flags displayed?

Nano Tina / November 15, 2013
RW is politically blind and UNP has gone mad dancing to the tune of Wickramabahu by inviting McRae to SiriKotha, the notorious Channel 4 clown who is globe trotting trying to defame Sri Lanka and please his masters – the Tamil diaspora on whose money he makes a living.
With this act its very clear that RW is NOT interested in the votes of Sri Lankans. How can he face the voters in future election campaigns. He will be and SHOULD BE thrown out and chased away from UNP for this betrayal of the nation and the party.
Perhaps, RW is in his dream world where one fine day US and UK will manipulate the politics of Sri Lanka and bring him to power…. so that he need not worry about the Sri Lankan voters BUT need only to satisfy those nations that has already brought misery to millions in Iraq, Afganistan, Syria, Libya, etc, etc.
Let RW leave UNP and join Wickramabahu and do all these nonsense. UNP is not a party you can run to your whims and fancies surrounded by a set of clowns. UNP is a national party with a history of great achievements with great leaders, including obtaining independence to our country. RW, you are an insult to UNP, leave alone being its ‘leader’.
UNP is tooooo big for RW. RW, Please get out without further destroying the party (and the country) and continuing it now in a different guise by scheming behind a leadership council.
/
sarojini / November 15, 2013
Nano , RW’s interest is to destroy the country . In his dreams he will be hoping that the west will prop him up to realise his cherish dream of becoming the President of SL , when he sucks up to Callous Macre and co . RW little realises that CM’s way is only cheque book journalism .

I think the UNP fucked JVP, together with the UPFA and TNA, and now we have BBS fondling little boys in temples, and blah, blah, blah..
For generations we have been fed this rubbish from politicians.. I’m sure all these bullshit parties have a great ‘Company Mission’. Not that I have read any of them but probably all are quite similar with freedom of speech, helping the poor, economic development, and some other verbal diarohea about how great their team is.. etc. etc.. They really should state the simple facts “Vote us in, and we will rape you more than the ruling party”
Once people realise these partys’ are just another way to divide and conquer the better this world will be..

Kola Kotiya / November 19, 2013
The drama is all over now. This afternoon the UNP leaders
Ravi Karunanayake and Daya Gamage apologised to a group
of more than 500 monks who came on a protest to Siri
Kotha.
The two of them together with Ven.Keeniyawala Thera walked
out of the Siri Kotha. Karunanayake and Gamage fell on the
ground and worshipped a group of priests leading the protest.
They said they were extending an unqualfied apology for attacking
the BBS members including leader Ven. Galagodaeththe Gnanasara
Thera last Thursday. After that the monks withdrew.
The moral of the story – the UNP has publicly admitted that a wrong
was done to BBS monks. It was a subtle and painless undercut for
Karu Jayasuriya, the Chairman of the UNP Leadership Council. He
should have gone to the monks and apologised if there was anything
wrong. He was in Hospital and their leader Wickremesinghe send the
delegation to apologise. Power battles have started again in the UNP.
