Away with all Deadly Illusions and Vile Deceptions: Unite to Fight for a New World of Freedom

We were taught in school that Democracy refers to a “Government of the People; By the People and; For the People” , based on the “Rule of Law”. We were taught that in a Democracy, the people are ‘Sovereign’ and that this sovereignty is exercised by political representatives elected by the people through regular, free and fair elections. We were taught that Democracy requires a “Separation of Powers” between the Executive, Legislature and the Judiciary to ensure that no one party, individual or family would usurp and monopolize State power. Finally, we were taught that Democracy has to be institutionally girded in a system of transparent accountability and respect for human and democratic rights. This is the political doctrine ( and ideology) that was injected into our veins through our mother’s milk and drummed into our minds by our political, educational, social and cultural institutions. Let us examine this political doctrine in the light of experience.

In the United States of Amerika, for example, former President, George Bush claimed that he had clear and irrefutable evidence that Saddam Hussein was in possession of weapons of mass destruction that threatened the very existence of the “Free World”, and that he had to be eliminated at all costs. The US Executive, Legislature and Judiciary gave sanction for a war against Iraq aimed at eliminating Saddam Hussein. The UN also rubber-stamped this policy. Now, it is proven beyond any shadow of doubt that this policy- and this war- was based on a barefaced lie. Saddam Hussein was finally executed by an international War Crimes Tribunal, and a puppet regime was put in place. It was reported that US sanctions contributed to the death of close upon half a million people, mostly children. The US war of aggression deliberately targeted social and economic infrastructure in a bombing spree of genocidal proportions, accounting for the killing, incineration and mutilation of millions of people. It continues its global war of aggression in Afghanistan and threatens to extend it to Iran and No. Korea. The US and its allies continue to support and legitimize the brutal, genocidal occupation of Palestine by the Zionist Sate of Israel. Let us not forget that it was the US that first used atomic bombs of mass destruction in Hiroshima and Nagasaki, even after Japan was ready to surrender, causing the killing, incineration and mutilation of hundreds of thousand innocent civilians. The current President Barrack Obama is spicing up this very same policy of imperialist genocidal aggression on a global scale in order to protect and expand the US empire, and preserve its global hegemony. Furthermore, Barrack Obama bailed out the parasitic financiers and racketeers of Wall St who had together swindled and ruined millions of homeowners in the US to the tune of trillions of dollars of the tax payers money, to keep the system of ‘democracy’ (read empire) afloat. He has followed George Bush, and all those before him, in faithfully enacting the most draconian-fascist legislature internally to legally suppress and violently repress the exploited workers and oppressed nations and masses of Amerika. All in the name of “democracy”, “patriotism”, “defending the Fatherland”, and “defending the “Free World”.

Here, in the Land of Lanka, the Miracle of Asia, the Mahinda Rajapakse Junta Regime (MRJR) remains accountable for war crimes and for gross, systematic and intensifying violations of human and democratic rights, including horrifying and abominable atrocities. It is reputed for astronomical crimes of corruption, abuse of power and aggrandizement. This process of erecting a pathological, megalomaniacal, dynastic dictatorship has now reached a crescendo in the act of impeaching and sacking the Chief Justice through a process of kangaroo justice, backed by the unleashing of state terrorist repression against any and all forms of opposition and resistance. This is while introducing even more draconian-fascist legislation to empower the Police- recognized as the most corrupt and murderous state institution- to torture and hound victims and instill state terror on the masses. This is while intensifying the military occupation and political subjugation of the Tamil Nation and subjecting all other nationalities to the absolute hegemony and domain of a Sinhala-Buddhist unitary State commanded by a crony-mafia, narco-Capitalist Comprador dynastic Regime. This is all in the service of greasing the neo-liberal imperialist agenda. And, as in the US, this drive towards entrenching a neo-fascist-terrorist dictatorship is justified in the name of Democracy, Patriotism and Defending the Motherland! The imperialist and reactionary regional powers are all partners in the game of perpetuating this vile deception aimed at preserving the system of world imperialism, while jockeying for strategic advantage against rival imperialist powers and blocs. So, don’t place your faith in the UNHRC to deliver justice.

As Lenin so powerfully analysed, whatever its outward form, bourgeois democracy is but an illusory veil that covers up the naked-terrorist dictatorship of the Bourgeoisie. Given all this living experience, the effort by some people (progressive and reactionary) to somehow defend the system with the hope of reforming it, participates in giving life to this vile deception, leading the masses astray, and derailing the revolution. All those who would dismiss my argument as “Marxist drivel” would have to check their own conscience. They would only display their own pathetic and self-serving intellectual bankruptcy and moral degeneracy. What is the historical anti-thesis, the dialectical necessity to all this unending horror and madness except to dream and fight for a whole new world order, free of all social relations of domination, exploitation and oppression and WAR? That is the path of the future, the path of universal freedom, towards the emancipation of humankind from the chains of ignorance and slavery, based on private property .

This gives expression to the dawning of Communism as illuminated by the immortal teachings and principles embodied in the science of revolution as developed by Marx, Engels, Lenin, Stalin and Mao. The international proletariat, in unity with all oppressed people of the world shall continue to mount and claim the stage of history through all the mortal dangers confronting humankind, building upon the historic achievements of the Paris Commune, the Great October Revolution and the Great Proletarian Cultural Revolution- and going beyond, to seize all historic opportunities opening up by the all-embracing, spiraling crisis of the system of world imperialism, to initiate a new wave and a new stage of Communist Revolution.

Lot of water has flown down the Kalu Ganga since you were in school,
my friend. Demonocracy here for some years has been “Govt of the Rajapakses, for the Rajapakses – by the Rajapakses” If you have no appetite for this modern day patriotic Sinhala Buddist ground reality take the next boat out and head to the Sinhala diaspora. That business too is now said to be in the hands of a young and enterprising Rajapakse.

Please also remember a lot bodies had floated in Kelani Ganga and Mullivaaikkal.

      You say:

” If you have no appetite for this modern day patriotic Sinhala Buddist ground reality take the next boat out and head to the Sinhala diaspora.”

My cousins in Australia don’t want the white and brown sahibs swamping their ancestral land.

I rather prefer them to go back to Sinhapura in Venga.

Huh … another book communist! Mao is dead, long time gone. Stalin is dead, gone long time. All JVP bosses (former commies),former MEP, LSSP, VSSP, CP big wigs are now in President’s payroll holding big jobs and getting big graft on the side. They have betrayed their idealisms. What’s the point of writing all this revolutionary songs; either he should be there fighting in the streets for the good of oppressed citizen or join the other former commies in the govt payroll, and forget the revolution.

I am beginning to feel that websites such as this are actually prolonging the Rajapakse regime. They allow all the armchair fighters for “democracy” to express their views and let of steam rather than get off their butts and DO something.

No wonder such sites are allowed to survive and prosper !

I wonder if the details of the contributors go into the hands of the CID or worse ?

Be careful all of you, who are pandering to your egos. The next time you are in print may be in the obituary coloumns.

Ajit – you keep writing all this theoretical Maoist gobbledygook repeatedly, but you never tell us what your ‘Ceylon Communist Party (Maoist)’ has actually DONE to rectify the abuses you keep harping on. Action speak much louder than words, right? I, for one, have never even heard of your party until you started writing as its secretary.

Let’s have an answer from you at least now, as you have never enlightened us readers about your party’s actions in the past – otherwise it would be best to be silent

Britain has been the birth place of Democracy. Later it spread to all the Commonwealth countries. It also found its way in the European countries and in USA. At the same time Communism also emerged in Eastern Europe the influence of which affected China, Cuba and some South American countries. Yet, with the passage of time on account of wars, democracy took a new shape to suit the needs of various people. Accordingly democracy had two types of constitutions – Unitary and Federal. Unitary constitution is found where a specific race resides predominantly in a country and Federalism is found where there two or more races live and also where the territory is large. However, in a democracy the people’s power is entrusted with one specific party by way of free election. Communism is found in countries like Russia, Cuba, China etc., the feature of which is, power is vested in one hand, elected by a body behind the iron curtain. Meanwhile, there are other countries, especially the Islamic countries, where dictatorship prevails through military means with the blessings of a religious body, though some Islamic countries are democratic. The type of economy also plays a vital role in such countries. Democratic countries always encourage liberal economy, while communist countries generally prefer a closed economy and third world countries prefer a mixed economy. Neverthless, enshrinement of civil liberties eventually was instrumental for the expansion of globalized economy which emerged from the concept of liberal economy. When the advantages of globalized economy began to shatter the communist countries and Islamic countries as well as the third world countries, the leaders of Communist and third world countries began to suppress the civil liberties of the people. Sri Lanka was no exception. However, Sri Lanka while adopting liberal economy in various pretexts, was, in fact, following a closed economy in a sophisticated manner with intent to swindle the wealth of the nation, for which suppression of human rights (especially the powers of the Provinces) has become a necessity. The controversial Bill that was declared unconstitutional by the Supreme Court headed by the CJ, was a case in point.
In a country where there two more races, those people should be treated equally in all respects like Canada, Switzerland, USA, Singapore, etc as per their constitutions. But it is a fact that Iraq’s Sadam Hussain was instrumental for the murder of more than 500,000 Kurdish people, some of whom were tortured and killed with chemical substances. Similarly, Gadaffi, Mubarak and Afganistan and now Syria has engaged in mass murders of their opponents, an offence which no civilized Nation will tolerate. It is sad to observe that Sri Lanka too had joined in this fray on those helpless unarmed citizens. It cannot be disputed that such mass murders had affected the democratic countries like Canada, UK, Australia, France, Germany, etc by way of asylum seekers. It should not be forgotten that soldiers of USA, Canada and the other democratic countries had sacrificed their lives for the sake of rescuing the innocent civilians in those countries. I have heard so many stories of torture committed on those innocent citizens from the people of those countries in Canada. It does not mean that the western democratic countries and Japan are deliberately committing human rights abuses in those countries, when they are fighting the evils (fanatics cannot be corrected) where some innocents will get killed accidentally due to unavoidable circumstances. The Ramayana War, Maha Bharat War, the 1st and 2nd Word Wars, the wars in Europe from 14th century to 19th century, the wars in India before its independence bears testimony to the inevitable of killings of the innocent people. However, in the 20th century we have the UN Charter with declaration of Human Rights, the model of EU, the Commonwealth, the constitutions of Canada and other western democratic countries, etc., are there to lend a helping hand as to the mode of respecting the human rights of every citizens. If the Communist countries and the third world countries including Sri Lanka, can adopt such mode of respecting the human rights as found in the EU and in the constitutions of Canada, Switzerland, etc, this tragic problem would not crop. It is regret to observe that even the SAARC does not have a Charter of Human Rights provision or a SAARC Parliament similar to that of the EU. It appears that the Indian politicians are a set of clowns when the Indian judges with other world judges have signed a petition condemning the impeachment of Sri Lanka CJ. SAARC appears to be a weak organization. As we are living in a changing world with the advancement of science and technology coupled with the expansion of global economy which is inter-woven with human rights, the remedy for the liberation of humankind from the savage acts of fanatics who are starved hunger for power, is to have a federal constitution on the Canadian model (or USA if possible), which will demonstrate a meaningful democracy, which requires separation of powers between the Executive, Legislature and Judiciary.

The democracy has not started in Britain. Get your facts right. The history of democracy traces back from classical Athens in the 6th century B.C.

Let all these ignorant idiots get some knowledge with regard to the Ceylon Communist Party (Maoist)-CCP-M. The CCP-M is one of the longest standing parties in Lanka-founded in 1942 as the Socialist Party. It was reconstituted as a result of a split with the Revisionist Keuneman /Wickremasinghe leadership led by the late Com. Sanmugathasan in the context of the decisive conjuncture in the International Communist Movement in the 60s, as a result of the usurpation of power in the Soviet Union by Modern Revisionism, when the Chinese Communist Party led by Mao led the struggle to expose this vile treachery. Our party stood with Mao at this decisive conjuncture, and have continued to defend the science of Marxism-Leninism-Maoism-MLM. We are a founding member of the Revolutionary Internationalist Movement which rose to the defense of MLM in the context of the set back in China as a result of Capitalist Restoration and the assault on the world proletarian revolution and communism by world imperialism.
In the context of defending and advancing the proletarian revolution and the goal of Communism in Lanka, the CCP-M continues to engage in debate and struggle over the science of revolution and the theory, line and strategy of the Lankan Revolution. The CCP-M has engaged with every major political struggle, including the defense of the right of self-determination of the Tamil Nation and the national-democratic rights of the Hill Country and Moslem nationalities. This we have done in the face of continuing threats to our lives by rabid chauvinist-fascist forces. We have taken on the Mahinda Rajapakse regime on every issue related to the defense of human and democratic rights head on, including confronting the military junta regime in Jaffna, and on the streets of Colombo.
We are not bothered by the idle and ignorant comments by various individuals who respond to our statements. Let them find satisfaction in their form of intellectual masturbation, some of whom have descended to the pitiful depths of calling on the CID to inquire into our activities, and some who relish the thought that our last words would be in the form of an obituary! That itself is a certification of our revolutionary stand and work. You do not have to alert the CID or the Regime- they are very much on the alert about our activities.
Thanks to Colombo Telegraph for their defiant journalism and giving the opportunity to sustain the struggle for Freedom, even against these parading, posturing impostors who believe that they have something worthwhile to contribute to the struggle. Get a Life!

    Surendra .

Thanks Ajit, but no need to get abusive. Maybe you need a bit more PR (than your missives to CT) to get your message across to the ‘proletariat’? Anyway, good luck with your endeavors to get the country back on track.

Comrade SAR might remind himself the days of the cold war when the aggressive lingo of the on-going “Cold war” and dialectic materialism has given way where even his own friends – the Chinese communists – are now going about in Armani-like business suits. Bo Xi Lai, that illustrious son of a colleague of the Great Chairman Mao, and dear wife too – capitulated to “Western Ways” and found themselves on the wrong side of “intellectual masturbation” Cuba – that other Utopia – is still in the throes of poverty and hunger after 6 decades of unadulterated Communism. It was ironic to hear from Tamil emigrants from the Lankan North – now Canadian working-class citizens – holidaying in Cuba with their families, they had to part with a few US$ and even bathing soap and toothpaste – to those “extremely poor Cubans” out of sheer pity. Things sure have changed in the world, haven’t they. So that great “turn around the corner” which Dudley made fun of in Parliament in his days, is unlikely to materialise.

    Sumanasekera,

You just don’t have the intellectual capacity to grasp the essence of an argument. But, the readers of CT are far more intelligent, with their feet on the ground.
    Peter,
Sorry for the impassioned tone, but times are desperate, and I get tired of people who would threaten me, like this Don Quixote who don’t even have the guts to be identified, who will rejoice in my obituary.

The British knew the meaning of democracy and human rights from the 12th century, but they never practised while killing millions of innocent people to takeover others’ homelands, in order to have plenty of resources. The Western Countries will never admit their atrocities; if they do then they can not keep themselves on the top, and fool others in the name of democracy and human rights. The Western governments are extremely clever in disguising their ulterior motives and their evil tricks. According to the Independent newspaper of London, Britain discussed plans to exploit Iraq’s oil reserves with some of the world’s biggest oil companies five months before it joined the United States in invading the country in 2003. Citing previously secret documents, the newspaper said at least five meetings were held between British officials and BP and Royal Dutch Shell in late 2002. BP privately said to the British Foreign Office that Iraq was “more important than anything we’ve seen for a long time.” The documents were obtained by the oil campaigner Greg Muttitt, author of the new book Fuel on the Fire: Oil and Politics in Occupied Iraq”. “Mr Blair famously said in early 2003, ‘The idea that we’re interested in Iraq’s oil is absurd, it’s one of the most absurd conspiracy theories you can imagine”. While he was saying that, there was an internal secret document reveals the British strategy to exploit Iraqi oil, and it said, “Britain has an absolutely vital interest in Iraq’s oil”.

I really do not believe one political system suits every culture and ideology. And also I do not believe the West would implement something that would work for the majority. The Westerners are only 8% of the world’s population, therefore they will always implement something that would not work for the majority world. Here is an example of the progress of the people who are pro and agaist the Western system.

Chinese shoppers account for one-fourth of all luxury purchases globally and last year surpassed US consumers to become the world’s top spenders on luxury goods, according to consulting firm Bain & Co. But the Indians do not have access to toilets. They believe in God and democracy, they are even vegetarians, but love their bribes, they won’t even think twice before rip off their own people. Sri Lankans have been fighting since 1948. Pakistanis are going from bad to worse. The Indian subcontinent has plenty of crazy idiots. Only rule like China can put those crazy idiots in right place. Otherwise we will never move forward, this is what the West wanted since they invaded us in 1505.

The Westerners ruled and ripped off the Indian Subcontinent for more than 440 years, but they never done anything to eliminate the caste systems, gender inequality, and racial, language and religious discriminations. Four hundred years is very long time, at least 10-12 generations. The Westerners could have done a lot to the Indian Subcontinent, but they deliberately done little to keep the Asians under them. The Westerners have a lot to talk about the Indian Subcontinent’s failure than China’s communism, but they won’t talk about it, because it will highlight their deliberate misleading to keep the Asians under them, plus the Indian Subcontinent is not a threat to their dominant power, but China. “English are to blame for India’s backwardness” published by the Dominion Post, written by Philip Collins, on page B5, dated January 05, 2013. The Dominion Post is one of the major newspapers in New Zealand. Not all the Westerners are naive or blind, there are people like Philip Collins who sees the Westerners’ evil side. The Indian Subcontinent has enough intellectuals to develop the Subcontinent, but the system won’t allow the intellectuals to lead. Therefore, the intellectuals leave the Subcontinent and develop the Western Countries. This system was developed by the Westerners, in order to keep the Indian Subcontinent poor and weak. We fought against the Westerners to have our freedom, but we still trust them, listen to them and run our political system according to them. This is a huge disaster. The Indians are too scared to change their manufacturing sector, because they don’t want another East India Company. However, they are happy to run a political system recommended by the Westerners. The Chinese are really smart, because they have chosen a political system to suits their culture and ideology. The Chinese did not choose a political system recommended by their enemies. We must stop listening and trusting our enemies. We must develop a system according to our culture and ideology, like the Chinese did, otherwise the Indian Subcontinent will be struggling forever. We must depart from the old system and bring some changes. Being part of the Commonwealth is only helping us to stay behind. Time for us to move forward, our policies are not helping the Indian Subcontinent to move forward as China. Am I recommending a communist system? Not at all, but we need some changes, if we come up with something good, the Indians may even consider our system in the future. We must find a way to lift the whole Indian Subcontinent. India can’t try something new, because it is too big. In India 627 million people do not have access to toilets, the Indian leaders do not even provide basic needs to their own people. The Indian leaders believe in God and democracy, they are vegetarians too, but love their bribes. Sri Lanka is a small country, and its leaders are committed to their people more than the Indian leaders, at least the Sri Lankan leaders provide access to toilets to their people. As Sri Lankans we must try something new and help the whole Indian Subcontinent, otherwise we will be betraying our future generations.

Do you know the beauty of the democracy in the Indian Subcontinent? They have the freedom to have babies like rats. The rich and smart people end up in the Western world to serve their white masters. The poor people and fools rip off their own people in their motherland. The Indian Railways is the largest open toilet in the world, 627 million Indians do not have access to toilets.
