BASL needs to gain the respect of litigants and the common man before protesting measures against judiciary.
People are watching this tussle with amusement because they have no respect for the legal fraternity both in and out of parliament as both sides do not agree with each other.
People want quick justice without going broke trying to get it.
They couldnt care less about who are the judges, and how tey are appointed.
Whoever heads the BASL, as lawyers we have to oppose this bloody impeachment. What we need is an independent judiciary and rule of law. we don’t believe in personalities, institutions but only on law.

Bravo! If the BASL has expressed “grave concern and urged fair play”, we should hail their unanimous collective decision. Now the people will look on the legal fraternity with a new respect. It is a happy augury that professionals, academics and intellectuals are gradually taking up positions in the forefront of the battle against injustice!
Bar association having read the impeachment motion could have analysed the legality of charges and chances to prosecute CJ. Moreover it could reveal in whose box have more skeletons. Safeguarding the little justice remain is a necessity.
