Details are now emerging of a top cop approaching two senior Muslim Ministers last afternoon (10 August) to request them to close the new makeshift mosque in Grandpass until after the end of the Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting scheduled to take place in Colombo in November, Colombo Telegraph learns.

Western Province Senior DIG Anura Senanayeke had made the request although the motive of the senior police official is not clear.
Muslim Lawyers discussing the issue fear that it might be aimed at setting the stage for communal violence against the Muslim community once the summit is concluded.
DIG Senanayake, a close confidant of the upper echelons of the ruling regime has also telephoned several private media organisations, requesting them to provide adequate publicity to the activities of the Bodu Bala Sena movement.
Following several attacks on mosques in the country, the Bodu Bala Sena has always later denied their involvement.
It is also reported that despite objections raised by the Secretary to the Ministry of Difence Gotabaya Rajapaksa and the Bodu Bala Sena, Sinhala Ravaya and Ravana Balaya group, the Ministry of Religious Affairs has in writing issued permission to Muslim leaders to continue to use the new mosque building and prayer centre at Swarna Chaithya Road in Grandpass that was attacked last evening.
The makeshift prayer centre was to be used during the Ramadan fasting season after the original Grandpass mosque was relocated for development by the UDA also headed by the Secretary MOD. Mosque authorities received written permission from the Ministry of Religious Affairs to utilise the premises for their prayer centre, despite protests from the Bodu Bala Sena and other hardline Sinhala-Buddhist groups.
Following the attack, the police is now seeking and assurance that the mosque will be closed immediately. There is a strong objection to the proposal by the Muslims from the area.
Police have declared a police curfew in the Grandpass area until 7 a.m. after tensions raged following the attack on the mosque late last evening. Eyewitnesses report that the iron gates of the mosque have been dismantled and there is severe damage to the mosque premises and surrounding houses. At least five people were injured in the clashes. Unconfirmed reports reaching the Colombo Telegraph say that the mosque Imam has also been badly wounded in the incident. Two police officials were also injured and admitted to Colombo National Hospital for treatment.
The Muslim Council of Sri Lanka has urged Muslims around the country to remain calm.
The attack took place soon after Maghrib or evening prayer. Police have now cordoned off the area.

I asked one of my Muslim friends, why cannot Allah save the Muslims in Myanmar?. He said, they are not very religious so Allah decided to punish them.
In that case, I asked, so it is Allah wish ? He said yes indeed. Allah is the matter of all.

If it is Allah’s wish why do other Muslim countries shout against what is going on in Myanmar? so those Muslims are shouting against Allah’s wish ?
And what sort of a God is Allah to kill those who don’t pray him properly?
And my other question was,
What about other religious, they have no faith in Allah, so Allah can kill them ?
Answering this question, he said, it is our duty to make them believe in Allah, if they don’t, we have to kill them for their own benefit. That is what Allah wants.
Second and the third question remained unanswered and my Muslim friend wanted to quit the discussion saying “ Allah is divine”

Just like every religion, Islam has different levels of Muslims, in terms of knowledge of religion and faith.
1. I have not heard of any Muslim torching another Muslim depending on their level of faith or otherwise. In fact v Muslims cannot burn anything that has or had life. That’s why we bury the dead. Even a dead animal cannot be burnt. Therefore this is not part of our religion.
2. This again is a mis conception. No where in history has any civilization was forced to accept Islam. Our beloved prophet may peace be upon him, has clearly stated that respecting another religion is apart of our faith. We under no circumstances can destroy places of worship, spread hate speech targeting another religion nor a person belonging to another religion. It is clearly stated that every Muslim should respect the faith of another.
3. Based on comments by few or one Muslim, please don’t jump into conclusions. Islam is a complete way of life for every human being. Please refer to the Quran and then base it opinion on it.
4.we as Muslims believe got is the creator of all creations. He is the all mighty, he has no beginning and has no end. However according to what u claim, we Muslims should sit under a tree and wait till food falls from the sky.
This is not the case. Islam guides a person in every perspective. From childbirth to burial of the dead. Islam tells how to do business, how to have a happy marriage life, how to treat ur Neighbour and each and every aspect of life. Islam also mentions the consequences when these steps r not followed. It is clearly mentioned in the holy Quran that what ever calamities falls on a person it is due to his actions. When u have a clear user manual but still ignore it and do it ur Way and once something goes wrong, can u blame the product or the manufacturer.
If u say this is a devil’s religion, u have clearly not done ur Home work. It’s ur Right to say what u feel. But don’t think u should base yr claim with substantial proof. U have based ur Claim by talking to one Muslim. We Muslims follow the Quran and the teaching of our beloved prophet. Therefore u kindly research on these two matters and base ur Claims on those.
I doubt know what religion you are from. But certainly no person following a right religion would ever disrespect another religion.
What ever I have stated above has been summarized as much as I could for space and readability. Otherwise each of your points could be replied more clearly and in detail with proof from the Quran.

We must be patient. The BBS, wants Sri Lankan Muslims to fight back. Do not play into their hands. Let us have patience. The BBS is making a fool of itself. The majority Sinhala Buddhists are good people and everyday they are watching and they know who are good.

There is no way that legally the mosque can be closed. Grandpass is an area with a significant muslim population and they have every right guaranteed under the constitution to follow practice their religon. The mosque building was approved by the Ministry of Religous Affairs.

Muslims wont be quiet anymore. Apparently, there had been more than 2000 Muslims who had surrounded the Police and the Balu Sena thugs. They had been on vigil until 2 am despite declaring a curfew. It had been a peaceful retaliation.

It is very clear these attacks on muslims are well planned. Obviously denied by BBS or any other anti muslim groups. First of all government must bann these groups as they create disharmony. Why they don’t do so? when fashion bug was attacked they had every proof. There too the news was president directly called faizer mustafa to bring it down the carpet. otherwise a warning muslims will face severe consequences. Once again now a sinister move Police say put on hold until nov?? then after november?? is there a planned attack on muslims after showing a peaceful srilanka to common wealth? Can they do that? world is not fools.
Its time rather too late muslim ministers must take a joint decision and find a solution by the help of Allah. Sri Lanka is not mianmar. Allah is the creator of this world andanything everything it. He is all mighty. Then the common question of why then no help comes from him when muslims are attacked. and as mentioned muslims in mianmar are punished because they dont follow islam. This is a point to be noted in detail. I cannot write all that here. But in short the reawards and punishment is when you are dead and start the life hereafter. Allah has given time for every human (muslims or non muslims) until death. Allah has spread ample proof for non muslims to embrace islam in its right spirit, if they would wish a better life hereafter. Option proof and acceptance all is open. So what muslims face is only a test in this world it may be small or big light or heavy but in all its only a test. We may see from outside the anti islamic cuopes do succeed in its operation but in fact the muslim succeeds in his effort to satisfy Allah in his way of acceptance. (Imaan and Tawakkul) Loosing property or lives is not a loss for muslims.(as they are not behind it) Muslims are suppose to make readyness for the life hereafter. ( muslims may make mistakes in this path- which is pardoned by Allah as a whole taking his Iman and Tawakkul into consideration) But those attacking the harmless muslims and the places of worship – Masjids (House of Allah) will be severly dealt with in the near future. (time given to understand the truth, accept the fact, believe in Allah so that they too get freedom) This is once again a matter of fairness by Allah that giving them enough chances to understand his religion (of Islam) So muslims shall not go down morally on these issues. Turn back to Allah. do more Taubah and increase faith (Iman) and obedience (Ibadath). Soon this calamity will turn back to them. In Sha Allah.
