Details are now emerging of a top cop approaching two senior Muslim Ministers last afternoon (10 August) to request them to close the new makeshift mosque in Grandpass until after the end of the Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting scheduled to take place in Colombo in November, Colombo Telegraph learns.

Western Province Senior DIG Anura Senanayeke had made the request although the motive of the senior police official is not clear.
Muslim Lawyers discussing the issue fear that it might be aimed at setting the stage for communal violence against the Muslim community once the summit is concluded.
DIG Senanayake, a close confidant of the upper echelons of the ruling regime has also telephoned several private media organisations, requesting them to provide adequate publicity to the activities of the Bodu Bala Sena movement.
Following several attacks on mosques in the country, the Bodu Bala Sena has always later denied their involvement.
It is also reported that despite objections raised by the Secretary to the Ministry of Difence Gotabaya Rajapaksa and the Bodu Bala Sena, Sinhala Ravaya and Ravana Balaya group, the Ministry of Religious Affairs has in writing issued permission to Muslim leaders to continue to use the new mosque building and prayer centre at Swarna Chaithya Road in Grandpass that was attacked last evening.
The makeshift prayer centre was to be used during the Ramadan fasting season after the original Grandpass mosque was relocated for development by the UDA also headed by the Secretary MOD. Mosque authorities received written permission from the Ministry of Religious Affairs to utilise the premises for their prayer centre, despite protests from the Bodu Bala Sena and other hardline Sinhala-Buddhist groups.
Following the attack, the police is now seeking and assurance that the mosque will be closed immediately. There is a strong objection to the proposal by the Muslims from the area.
Police have declared a police curfew in the Grandpass area until 7 a.m. after tensions raged following the attack on the mosque late last evening. Eyewitnesses report that the iron gates of the mosque have been dismantled and there is severe damage to the mosque premises and surrounding houses. At least five people were injured in the clashes. Unconfirmed reports reaching the Colombo Telegraph say that the mosque Imam has also been badly wounded in the incident. Two police officials were also injured and admitted to Colombo National Hospital for treatment.
The Muslim Council of Sri Lanka has urged Muslims around the country to remain calm.
The attack took place soon after Maghrib or evening prayer. Police have now cordoned off the area.

Mr.Anura Senanayaka is the no.1 , independent top cop we have at the movement.
Can anybody forget that how he captured the Museum thefts by planning “Operation Kangatta”. Everybody knows that Operation will second only to the “Operation K.P”
We still remember how he captured “Bhuthaya” who sat fire and destroyed Lankaenews office. Also we still remember how he recovered unburned blue CD’s, Condoms, empty arrack bottles and Ladies underwear’s from the burned Lankaenews Office.
He has done lot of operations like that and he is a real Deshapremiya. He is such a brave and efficient Police officer and I am sure he has more Qualifications to be a next IGP or Govt. Minister in the Future or future ambassador in Uganda. If anybody disagree with me they can check DIG Anura Senanayaka’s tongue and I am sure his tongue is full with “Kara Gata”.

No matter how much we Muslims are oppressed the disbelievers will not know what Islam really preaches and never will understand what is really happening to Muslims around the world – Syria, Egypt, Palestine, Burma, Pakistan and many more. For Muhammad (pbuh) warned us of a time that will come when nations will call one another to invade us, the same way they would call one another to a plate of food.
Why did Muhammad (pbuh) compare us to food?!! Because food is lifeless. It doesn’t respond when you eat it. No matter how much of the plate you were to eat – it would never fight back nor respond. And this is exactly what we have become. My self first and foremost.

The whole world is in turmoil because of the Muslim countries and the chaos. I have never known any group that kills each other while they follow the same god and religion. As long as Saudi Wahabism tries to make the whole world Muslim, people the world over will hate them regardless. The western world has learned their lesson. Where ever they go they want to rule and open mosques. You cannot run people over and take over countries with killing. They mention Allah and blast bombs and kill. This has to stop. This is not the Islam prior to the radicalization and terrorism. Don’t bring all that to Buddhist countries and anger people. There is no smoke without fire. The drug trade, the take over of land and building mosques disturbing people daily cannot be tolerated and should not be forced on people. In Muslim countries, others cannot even carry prayer books or statues whether Buddhist or Christian, but Muslims want all the liberties in other countries. This is intolerance and when people react don’t act like victims after provoking hatred by utterances, and actions world over. Even moderate Muslims get a bad reputation. In Iraq even on the day of Ramadan they blasted bombs and killed 74 people. Does Islam not value life. In every country the Muslims are clashing because they are pushing for global conversion to Islam with little tolerance for others. You reap what you sow by the push.

Muslim leaders should take care to see that there is no repeat of 1915 or of 1983 with the Muslims facing the brunt of the oppression instead of Tamils in the case of the latter year. ‘Let them have a taste of it’, ‘We will teach them a lesson’, ‘If you want war,you can have war’- these have been the attitudes of successive Sinhala governments towards the minorities! So, the Muslim leaders should rally the maximum support possible, nationally and internationally to safeguard innocent Muslim victims. 2013 is neither 1915 nor 1983. The government is greatly dependent on the inward remittances from the Middle East. So the local leaders will know where to knock the door!

If they are true Muslims, true believers of Allah and his Rasool, and want to serve and protect the Muslim Umma from these attacks of the government backed Sinhala Buddhists extremists, now is the time for all those Muslim ministers and MPs supporting the government to get out of it in enmass show to their protest as the President, the Prime Minister, the cabinet and the government as a whole not keen in stopping these bad actions of all these bad elements instead giving all the support to them.
This is the first time we have the highest number of Muslims representatives in the government and the parliament yet we are being subjected to such a bad treatments. They all are more into making good lives for them than looking after the Muslims.
If they think of their petty personal agendas more than the protection of the Allah’s Deen, then Allah’s curse should befall them before and on the day of Mahaser. No Muslims should consider them as leader of our community.
