General Secretary of the BBS, Buddhists monk Galagodaaththe Gnanasara said that although the group had stepped away from the battle against Halal because of the intervention of the Maha Sanga, the problem has not yet been resolved.

Do we have verifiable evidence that some one has reached Nirvana. Is it just a belief with no proof, just as God is. Is Nirvana ia fools paradise ?
If description 4 is used, why is it wrong to use the term extinction, as it has the same meaning as termination of the cycle of birth/rebirth. In short one goes to permanent extinction, on reaching Nirvana. Termination of the cycle of birth/rebirth is in standard Buddhist literature, if Ratnapala cares to read Buddhist literature. and not in Christian literature.
Without a proper definition of Nirvana, a discussion becomes pointless. If it is a belief, then people are free to believe what they want, and one definition is good as another. The least damaging descriptions are given from 1 to 3 and the most damaging is 4, has it has a negative influence on the will to survive. “

Then If you want Halal Certificate, then bring another 3 Certificate for Buddha Food Certificate, Hindu Food Certificate and Christian Food Certificate. Why the special treatment for islam ? or Cancel all Food Certificate based on Religion.
Why only 2 Ways, Halal Food and Non-Halal food ? We will have the Food be prepared in 4 Ways and 4 Different Certification process.

This is the saddest reality.
As almost everyone is aware the key source of foreign currencies flow to the country is the labour forces of poor srilankens to the middle east countries.

SL children are compelled to say PanSil every morning from school age. As we all know, one vow is “I will not hurt animals/fish” In Wasala Sutta extend this by saying those who hurt Single Cells to Multicellular Organisms (Ekiiya or Dwitha Jeevin) are WASALAYAs.
If SL Buddhists have brains, they should know that dead animals or dead fish they eat were hurt and killed by somebody for them to eat. Eating half alive eggs is worse..
Buddhists are NOT supposed to eat dead animals, dead fish or eggs (my interpretation :-) ) . How does it matter the way those animals or fish were hurt and killed? What ever method used to hurt/kill animals, it is wrong according to Buddha. Eating those dead animals is worst after taking that vow.
What makes BBS go after only Halal method of hurting and killing. Stupid BBS…

For the last few decades I was not in the country.
But as one who travels to lanka once or twice a year, I have the feeling, even if the majority is said to be buddhists, many of them have no respect and care towards buddhistic values. So their behaviours are almost similar to those of current day chinese that have no respect towards and but to materials. Lanken culture has changed a lot to worst during the last 3 decades. They are used to say ” Budusarnai”, even if they are on their way to leave for next murder. Top leadership is far from being exemplary – they dont care of anything. They fertilize the crime friendly society rather than taking any due actions within the prevailing legality in the country. Latter is very clear, – President himself rather support Duminda and Hambantota multi murder criminals just throwing some good sinhala jargons to calm down the gawking majority.
So called seniors like DEW, Vasudewa AND other figures stay calm and quiet as if they are made shut up. Dayan Jayathilaka – highly respected by Intellectual community have NOT yet brought any kind of articles about the lack of RULE OF LAW IN THE COUNTRY. All in all, people are helpless in the country not knowing what to do.

In the past women were not exposed enough to the world that she didn’t have sufficient knowledge to participate in worldly affairs whether it be politics, journalism, business or decision making and also to be in high profile jobs.. but now times have changed.. the world classifies especially muslim woman to be oppressed and backword, and not intelligent enough or a typical Asian woman who belonged to the kitchen or just to take care of housework or kids.. well as a muslim / Asian woman who the world used to stereotype.. i can tell u that i come from a family where every woman is a graduate, atleast with an MSc.. and im a hijabi, educated & in a high profile job role and oppression or pin puththi is not even in my vocabulary!
From ur name i assume ur a muslim, just for ur understanding refer sura Nisa & sura baqara with the thafseer.. something lot of people misinterpret.. ‘women are created an equal- the only thing a man has over a woman is a little additional responsibility.. that extra doesn’t give a man the additional right to boss her or put her down.. it is the additional responsibility he has to her or his family at large.. coz a woman in our culture is lucky enough whether to choose to work or not, but a man doesn’t have that option coz he has a huge responsibility to look after the family.. :)
