I am truly mystified as to how it is possible to make a profit of Rs.11.4 Billion by maintaining a floating armoury, even over an extended period. Will some knowledgeable person explain the exact mechanism of making a profit by running an armoury, floating or otherwise? Does it work like the Rent-a-Car business or what?

It is not the same thing as manufacturing and selling arms, where there are enormous possibilities for making profits!

      Very simple.

Steal. Steal from the people, a few hundred rupees here and there. Ask any thief or robber.

Cost of Goods Sold is Zero. Everything is Profit.

RE: Bribery Commission Arrests Avant Garde Chairman Nissanka Senadhipathi And Maj. Gen. Palitha Fernando.

Can you get Appendicitis? Some others have got it before Arrest.
Through the Grape Vine, Bulath Vine, Vettila Vine…

Sujani’s appendicitis in a day ! Doctors wanted three weeks !!

Following the exposure of the conspiracy involving Sujani Bogallagama who was feigning sickness (appendicitis) in order to evade courts despite a warrant being issued on her, her crooked doctor V.P.Gamage and Colombo General hospital Directors, Sujani the culprit cum cutie of Namal Rajapakse who planned earlier to remain in hospital for three weeks , finally got herself discharged yesterday(26) and appeared at the FCID. She was then arrested and produced in court.

I was reported earlier that Chandrasekera Pavthrika Sujani Bogallagama was the General Manager of the two companies NR consultancy and Gowers Corporate belonging to Lakshman Namal Rajapakse . Based on money laundering charges involving sums of Rs. 15 million and Rs.30 million against the owner of the companies Namal Rajapakse (by now a byword for frauds and large scale money laundering was earlier remanded and later released on bail) , she was to be produced in court for aiding and abetting.

The FCID told court that since Sujani is directly implicated in the money laundering crime , bail shall not be granted, and that the court has already requested a report to ascertain whether she was feigning sickness . Her lawyer however told court while forwarding a medical certificate that she was in hospital when the warrant was issued , and today , of her own accord got herself discharged to appear before the FCID, while adding that she had not flouted the law , and on 12 occasions visited the FCID to record her statements.

The Fort magistrate Nishantha Peiris after weighing the pros and cons of the submissions , and since bail has been granted to others in this case decided that she be enlarged on bail under stringent conditions: on a cash bail of Rs. 100,000.00 and a personal bail in a sum of Rs. 40 million. Her foreign travel too was barred , and she was ordered to report to the FCID on the first and last week of every month.

The suspect was also strictly warned not to make statements after going out that would discourage the FCID , and also no pressures shall be exerted on the witnesses. If by any chance the FCID reports of such incidents to the court , the latter would immediately revoke her bail , and remand her until he case is over.

Lawyer Ms. Divanka Jayathileke appeared on behalf of Sujani.

In any event , the Colombo hospital notorious ‘mafia’ (a bane to the nation) that tried to cure Sujani’s ‘sickness’ in three weeks was ‘cured’ in a day because of the report of Vine news . Sujani must therefore be thankful to the Grape Vine, Bulath Vine and Vetti,a Vine News fir curing her Appendicitis.

You are worse than a Estate labourer.

Just take a calculator and divide by the exchange rate you want and further divide appropriately between the stakeholders. It is minuscule. Their whole interests must be exposed.

there is nothing illegal about forming a security services company and provideing the much needed safe path for the ships. But where does the armoury and the capital for the forming of the company came is illegal. Gota abused the state assets and capital to amass personal income wíth the help of few crooks. the armoury belonged to the state security forces! Now you get it mate?

Because the owners of this weaponry charge huge amounts of money for storage of each weapon deposited by the crew of the maritime agencies protecting the tankers plying the East African coast against piracy. Every two weeks weapons per shift have to be signed in and then out by the international maritime defence crew using this facility. Previously it was the Galle naval base where weapons were deposited then “someone” saw a chance to make money and it was moved to the new floating armoury facility.

These are desperate measures by desperate people. This things will have its own repercussion. Touching Gota on flimsy charges is a foolish decision by any means. Playing to the Diaspora tune has already started to backfire. The goons in action in Malaysia has put this government to shame.

    Easy business model.
    -Aquire military contacts
    – travel and network at govt cost
    – negotiate at govt level
    – rent in rupees from the state
    – invoice in USD to client
    Very good no??

It seems that imperatives of political leveraging will determine the timing of Gota’s arrest, bail etc. Perhaps, there might be an understanding between the government and Gota…..I.e. “please let us arrest you for a few moments and then release you so that we can please the justice-seeking public and then we will make sure to release you within a few moments after the arrest or even take you to merchants war until bail..” This would be a win win situation for all of us. Please understand us. This is politics, nothing personal.”

Normally, the Principle hitherto followed is Arrest,Remand and Bail-ARB.
But in this instance a shorter version has been introduced[Perhaps to save time and Energy!]- Arrest and Bail!-AB.
Next time what? will it be still shorter?

Oii.. not this drama again.. cmon.. we already watched this part.. come up with something new will ya..! coming up on two years for yahapalanaya now. still waiting for the great brain Ranil to come up with something. All we see is them making deals with the opposition leaders to secure tamil and muslim votes for the next election. no problems with that, but they are selling half the country to do so. and here we have people still talking about rajapaksa’s this and that. i daresay, the government is doing a good job of the misdirection. this is not what our army sacrificed their lives for. we want one country. no federal crap. stop falling into this misdirection. report on what’s important. not this daily drama.

If Avante Garde payments which didn’t even come from the Lankan Taxpayers are punishable by the Bribery Commission, wonder what does the Father in Laws extra 2.65 % over 30 years to the Son in Law from Tax Payers, come under?.

May be just Batalanda Ranil’s Santhosams to Tamil Diaspora.

Usually to have a floating armoury you have to pay the navy a fee, monthly or yearly. In this case “Avant Garde” hasn’t paid a single cent to the navy, they kept it without spending a dime. When they say profits they don’t mean “actual money profits”
