They have made good decision. This decision is so Islamic. Take a look at Muslim dominate countries like Saudi Arabia. There isn’t any ethnic conflicts because they have already cleanse non Muslims. This site has forgot report about government sponsored ongoing violation on non Muslims in Indonesia like church demolishing. There are so many, Burma is just only one country and it’s inconsiderable compared to countries like countries like Saudi Arabia, Indonesia, Pakistan and Bangladesh.

Other countries where there are tensions with the muslims may also start to adopt this policy.It is not a question of will but when.When the koran forbids birth control with the strategy to use numbers to take over the lands of the infidels then the infidels will not be sleeping for long and will retaliate by forcing birth control on the muslims, or in some societies where the anti discrimination laws are strong instead of targeting muslims only may bring the policy for the whole population.
A two child policy for the whole world I think is a good one because if we have more than 2 children now,one day future generations may be forbidden to have even one child because the planet will be so overflowing and food will become scarce.China is a good example where earlier generations overbred and the current one can have only one.

This is Double Standards,
The Catholic Church also opposed birth control, and advised against it. However, it is my understanding, for Muslims, it is left to the individual. The higher birth rates are due t low literacy and economic status, more than religion.
1. If the Burmese want to limit population growth, then they need to apply to ALL citizens, and should not target one particular ethnic group or religion, like in China.
2. Looks like more than religion, Racism is involved here. Most of those Muslims are of Bengali origins, darker than than the Burmese, who are of a different ethnic stock.
In fact, if you were to analyse these Bengali Muslims DNA with those of Sinhala People, Sinhala Buddhist and even Tamils, there is not much difference.

Most of the urban educated Muslims are having only 2 children or maximum 3 children. We all know that poverty, illiteracy and lack of availability of contraceptives that prevents any community to have more than 2 or 3 children.
Muslims also must be made to realise that numbers do not count and it is how they are brought up is what matters. I heard there are only 14 million Jews ( figure is subject to correction, but any way it is less than all other communities) but they are the most powerful community in the world. They decide even the President of US. They control media and the arms industry etc etc.
Islam allows birth control at an individual level. Size of the family is the decision of the family. But unfortunately it is not an informed decision. Recently I heard that in Moneragalle a very poor woman had 8 children and died at the childbirth of the 9th child. She was so weak. She is illiterate and poor.

This sounds to me like a continuous selective public scrutiny of private parts.
If it is a problem for the future generation let them deal with it. I hope unlike the present stupid generation they may be well equipped with highly developed science base and technology with which I am sure not only they will find solutions but may thrive out of it.
Human race has been dreaming about intergalactic travel for many decades and it may come true within the next 100 or so years. Intergalactic large scale migration may be possible. Human race may need large population to sustain itself living away from earth.
The way things are at present the current population may not last another few decades, not because of population explosion but because of greed driven wars.
Please do some research on China’s changing population policies in recent years.
I strongly oppose state’s diktats in family matters.

Most families today have two children due to economic reasons. Govt of Sri Lanka has promised an incentive of RS 100,000 for members of the armed forces to have more that two children. It is doubtful if such strategies will work. Are you going to kill the third child of muslim parents? Such practices and double standards are against the UN convention on Human Rights. Ethnic Cleansing in another form? Mynmar, Rankhine state seems to be like the Nazi equivalent in asia in the 21st century. They will reap what they sow.

The population increase is a function of the fertility rates and the mortality rates. Both are dependent upon the availability if the local resources to provide for and sustain the population. During the times of the start of these religions, mortality rates were high, and made sense for more births. This equation has changed.
However, there should not be Double Standards.
This is where the problem lies. Double standards , the basis of which is their Myths,promoted by Monks, Priests and Mullahs, so that they have a flock to preach and have hegemony over.
