CBK Dances Away Whilst Unity Government In Crisis: Video Goes Viral

A video clip of former President Chandrika Kumaratunga, the chief architect behind the Maithripala Sirisena Presidency, dancing away with SriLankan Airlines Board Director Rakhitha Jayawardena is currently going viral on social media.

Chandrika Bandaranaike Kumaratunga despite bringing Maithripala Sirisena as the common candidate was also instrumental in forming the current unity government to oust the former Rajapaksa regime is seen having a gala time on the dance floor. This is despite the members of the current yahapalanaya government pointing fingers at each other and being at loggerheads with each other especially with the ‘Bond Scam’.

The event took place yesterday at the Taj Samudra at the home coming of the son of another SriLankan Airlines Board Member Rajan Brito.

Rakhitha Jayawardena who is also heard singing the lyrics “she will be wearing silk pyjamas when she comes, aye aye yipee yipee aye’ is still a Board Member of SriLankan Airlines despite wide speculation that he along with Chairman Ajith Dias and the rest of the Board Directors ( barring Harendara Balapatabendi ) have tendered their resignations.

    CT Editors. .,
what is the big deal in CBK dance on her own wish., she is human too like rest of us.
Cannot believe you guys are going to the level of Weerawansa or Dayan J levels in finding everything wrong.

Sad, we couldn’t see her pangiri age dancing

Madam, hadn’t Vije taken you for dancing?.

Or had you limited your dancing to only with Vije in closed doors?

In that case; had we known it we could have taken Vije for HR violations.

      To Matilda,
There is nothing wrong with CBK’s dance shown on this video. However, when the country and people are suffering, these leaders who captured power by promising heaven on earth have no right to dance until they keep their promises and bring in some solace to the poor. The underlying impression here is that Yahapalana leaders (CBK and her circle including RW and MY3) are not sensitive to people’s burning issues.
We know the infamous Nero who fiddled while Rome burned. Nero had every right to play music but this ineffectual leader had no right to enjoy so in a time of serious crisis. Period.
Matilda should now understand the negative gravity of CBK’s dance. That’s why even RW’s dance backfired and MY3 is now in damage control mode at every political rally. Today, he has said he would take over the economy from the UNP. What does it mean? RW is an ineffectual leader and MY3 now has to do his part too! Will the UNP agree? We will for sure see more Hi Hi Hippi Hippi dance including break dance by both SLFP and UNP leaders shortly.

I agree with you 100%. Dancing is better than murdering…
but Ranil gave a better move to have left vibrations on MaRa’s withered balls.

She is a human like all of us and she has all the rights to enjoy in a party. There is absolutely nothing wrong in her having some fun. Where does it say an Ex-President should not dance in a party? Please do not mix politics with their personal lives. This article is cheap, Please do not stoop to the level of people with very low mentality like W Weerawansa, Dayan J, and so on.

This is SL now…..NO idea about defence of this country, no proper foreign policy that serves country’s interests, no economic plan….no development plan….no analysis of the problems faced by the people……….CBK+RW+Mangala, the colonial residue is running the show enjoying when the country goes down……..and the stupid yahapala voters laughing at it………….when will the true sons of the soil take charge?

    • 1
      0

The true sons of the soil you speak of put us into billions of debt and all but made us into a Chinese colony, in exchange for protecting them from accusations of war crimes. They also killed and kidnapped a fair share of your own citizens (although knowing your type, you may very well be another expat Lankan who doesn’t even hold citizenship in Lanka). When the perpetrators of said crimes were put behind bars, your lot cried about it. If we’re a failed state, your so called sons of the soil have also contributed to bringing us here with third class politics.

One wonders which soil they were the sons of. Colombo, or Beijing?

when Rajapaksas left the debt to GDP was 72%. And this government has taken loans for NO reason. Mahinda worked with the money he loaned. And it was during his term, our economy expanded.

Yahapalas have taken huge loans. what have they done. If MR was here, we would have still had hambanthota port and managed china well. The truth is Ranil is incompetent

        Who did he kill? P?

      sach

“NO idea about defence of this country, no proper foreign policy that serves country’s interests, no economic plan….no development plan….no analysis of the problems faced by the people”

If you have any idea about defense, foreign policy, how to get back the billions of dollars, hidden away in offshore accounts, economic plan, development plan, …………. how to bring the war criminals to book, …………………… please let us hear them.

Did previous governments have any of those mentioned above? Why worry now?

      • 1
        1

Previous gov’s policies are better for defence and foreign policy.
To punish war criminals, just send those LTTE supporters so we can hang them

          sach the very stupid

“To punish war criminals, just send those LTTE supporters so we can hang them”

You mean those who funded LTTE, you can start with Dr Mahinda Rajapaksa (LLD), Dr Gota Rajapaksa (DSc), Basil Rajapaksa (10, 20, 30%), Tiren Alles, ………………………….. who paid Rs 180 million to VP for his services and then of course members of Premadasa’s armed forces, and then Karuna, KP, Pillayan, …. and then the Hindians.

Everybody is dancing, drinking and enjoying!

“Be diligent to know the state of your flocks. And attend to your herds.
For riches are not forever, nor does a crown endure to all generations”

Every politician who comes to power makes every possible promise to the voters. But once in power, then the voter is forgotten. But the voter, and the great and awesome God of heaven will not forget. A day of judgment will come.

It is refreshing to see the former President enjoying life by dancing at a function. Do you expect her to cry.

Are the de Kaus still in Colpetty?

Never mind. That question needn’t be answered. Just that Vevil was supposed to teach us Chemistry in school.

Always nice to see CBK’s spontaneous smile. For all the efforts to malign her, a more decent human being than most. most.

The De Kaus migrated long ago to Australia where he studied to be a doctor. So you are also a Thomian( Smile)

Yes, Rohan, and thanks for passing that information on to me.

But see also, what I’ve said about the Chief Minister for Uva; and then may I suggest you google “Thomian Pharisees” to see what is coming over Education everywhere.

          I’d appreciate constructive criticism.

One reason why we appreciate CBK is that she’s not stuffy and uptight.

        Sinhala_Man,
        .
“Always nice to see CBK’s spontaneous smile. For all the efforts to malign her, a more decent human being than most. most.” (Copy paste without problems)
        .
Indeed. The recent videos and pictures show that many of our leaders are human beings. I like more the dance style of RW but the IGP singing was not bad either.
        .
I have not yet seen clips of Mangala dancing but there are lovely pictures of him with the dog, smoking and preparing the budget with the documents upside down.

          Dear Lone Wolf,

I won’t say that you have a “duty” to do this, but could you please let us know how you copy-pasted, the proof being your replication of that extra “most”.

It would be even better if Colombo Telegraph were to give us a comprehensive guide on how to overcome the problems that cropped up about three months ago.

I assume, dear Lone Wolf that you have passed your “secrets” on to the editors. I’m sure that wouldn’t have been the first time you have helped in matters of this sort.

By the way, I don’t know how relevant being a Thomian is nowadays.

          Google these two words:

          Thomian Pharisees

See what I mean? Is there anything to choose between how S. Thomas’ treats teachers and how the Uva Chief Minister treats them?

How stupid the publishers of Colombo Telegraph can be? What is wrong in dancing, especially a politician? This shows she is strong, healthy and in sound mind. Just because you are a politician that does not mean that you have to breathe politics morning noon and night. When she is out and about, especially with friends she should be allowed to enjoy herself. Her private life is her own business, its not the business of the country or stupid idiotic media persons. This shows how shallow the Sri Lankan media persons have become.

Bloody parasites! How about putting on such ball on the home coming of poor domestic workers slaving away in Middle East for year on year for decades, earning and sending home foreign exchange for these riff raff of parasites to live on. Disgusting the way they squander away national assets, as obviously these hotel bills are paid using the enormous salaries that these conmen are paid by Ranil the conner, their mate in crimes.

Of course, it was CBK who was instrumental in ousting MR and bringing the present Govt. and her responsibilities were over in Jan 2015. She can’t be always going behind the ‘yahapalana’ leaders to show them the correct path. Let her enjoy her life. When she was holding the presidency she was always confined and surrounded by securities and could have found time and chances to go on a ‘gala’. What on earth is wrong in her doing little dance? CT fellows are always against the ruling parties???

Pathetic gama-raala class envy. She can dance if she wants to and so can Ranil. And Ranjan Brito is a very close friend of her’s. You rather have a fornicating fuck-master general who has so many amulets and pretends to be a “Sinhala buddhist” but gets drunk and yells and hits his people and went to the Kandy President’s house to have sex with lots of women while pretending to be a saint in a saatakaya?

Are you like Taleban who banned dancing and killed people for dancing? She has always liked to dance. You could have judged her harshly when there was a war and she was dancing or gallivanting across the world; specially to London back then when she was Commander in Chief. NOT NOW. STOP STOP STOP this class envious gossip rag stuff. Ranil had a right to dance and so does she and everyone else. Ranjan Brito is an old friend of her’s too. Stop your Sinhala-Buddhist class envious JVP type attitudes

In paragraph 2, CT states that CBK was instrumental in ousting the MR regime.
No No No CT. We, the Lankan silent majority did it! Et tu CT?
    .
As to whether CBK danced or not is immaterial. Who can afford such an obscenely lavish home-coming party at Taj Samudra? We note that things have not changed at all!
    .
If only CBK had acted decisively on the 2004Tsunami issue!

And Pillai we the silent majority did it,and are forever regretting being misled by a bunch of Yahapalana rogues. We fall at the feet of Mahinda and ask for forgiveness. I know all those silent majoritarian are now either secretly cursing themselves, or trying desperately to keep the Yahalapana rogues enthroned till 2020. Vain hope though.

I agree with some of the other commentators: what is so wrong with a citizen of the country (which is what she is), enjoying an evening with friends in whatever way she chooses?

CBK was instrumental in getting the previous bunch of blackguards kicked out by the people – in this she showed both great leadership and civic consciousness. She is an ex-President and now a respected citizen of the country.

I don’t see why she cannot enjoy her leisure time and still work behind the scenes to make things better in the country with the very limited material available.

Shame on CT for this kind of scurrilous journalism.

Only problem is Dumb Sri lankan voters got elected Kalusuddhas as Presidents. CBK boasted that she brought most of the weapons that were used in EELAM war IV. IT is certain that Weapon sales always give COMMISS. No one asked where and what happened to that money. No one wants to investigate it. Did she say how did she educated two children in england with her salary. Are the coconut lands worth that much ?
How can we expect anything better for rural people from kalusuddhas.
