Actually in my opinion he should have visited other part of the Island to see the kind of Giant Development work going on. If he Visited Magampura Mahinda Rajapaksha International port, I am sure he will also make a new Port in the Middle of the UK like we did.
Also he should have visited that Great “Mattala Mahinda Rajapaksha International Airport” to see how pleasant and peaceful the Air Port would be without Incoming or out going Flights.
If he see the most expensive Expressways and Chinese developments in Sri Lanka he will never say that “I will Shine Light in Sri Lanka.
Also he should appreciate for the kind of Protection that our Mr. Gota provided to Foreign Journalists special pleasant reception given to Channel 4 team.
That is true that Our Boss has denied Visas for Commonwealth Lawyers delegation because they did not get the clearance from the Minister Keheliya Rambukwella. Also we deported 2 MP’s from Australia and Newzeland also for the same reason. Actually all these people would have allowed in Sri Lanka if they applied in a correct way as done by Casino King James Packer. See he came with proper type “Casino” visa and he delivered the main speech at the Commonwealth Business forum.

This response is specifically to Lucky. First you appear to be one of those Sri lankans who live in a bubble of your own. Let me blow that bubble for you so that you think rationally and not from the end that the sun does not shine.
First let’s be honest. Ending the tiger menace is a relief to all Sri kankans. Assuming that it was totally fought and won by the Rajapaksa brothers and all the credit should go to them then they also should take the same responsibility for the muck this country is going through after the war. Was it not the government who initiated their own commission of inquiry (LLRC) ? Was it not Gotabaya who having first vehemently denied that no civilians were killed later admitted according to their records only a few thousands died?
Secondly if you are accused for something you claim to have not done common sense will tell you that the government can agree to Channel 4s willingness to produce all material they have in an independent court . Just before the CHOGM i read in a daily news paper that Gotabaya had told the international community to either prove what they say in an international court or shut up. Very good words i thought but very soon when this is done and he is summoned burning the effigy of Obama or David Cameron is nothing more than the work of a street thug gone mad.
Thirdly Lucky if you have travelled and been to UK or USA you will note that there is a system in place which is a preventive measure for abuse of power. These countries are far from perfect but one knows that if one feels unfairly treated no matter who it is one could seek justice. How many British and American soldiers were sentenced for life for excessive behaviour in Iraq and Afghanistan ? There were no cover ups possible as if anyone tried the consequences would be serious. Do we have a system here ? Can you Lucky file a case against a politician who treats you or your family in an unfair and unethical manner ? Until your own family faces such an atrocity you don’t realise how unsafe we are in our own country which ironically is now war free.
Finally let me politely remind you Lucky that no matter what 65% of this country’s export earnings comes from the Euro Zone. Please bear in mind that it is we who depend on them. They can source the tea and garments from other countries who will be more than happy to take our orders as well. Bangladesh experienced exponential growth after the GSP Plus was withdrawn for our Garments which resulted in buyers shifting volume to Bangladesh to get that tax benefit. This is just the tip if the iceberg. We export only 1% to China. Be more responsible when you open your mouth. I am sure Lucky will be on the next plane if he is offered a resident visa in UK. This false patriotism is going to fall very soon.

During R Pemadasa’s time about 1500 police people were ordered to surrender to LTTE. After that LTTE killed all of these surrendered people probably to withdraw blood.
