The Simple answer is War criminal. He had the opportunity to become a hero but he failed to meet the qualities that is required to be a human to become a hero. A hero is a man who sacrifice his life for the truth, peace, love, equality and for the well being of the people, respect others grievances and most importantly being a judge to deliver the judgement based on truth.
You cannot compare Sinhala King Dutagemunu with Rajapakse. Dutagemunu went for a war with King Ellalan and at the end of the he respected the dead king and he did not ordered his forces to kill the people of the innocent people. I don’t know this story is true or false but there is something we should learn that the war had a purpose. In a war, you respect your enemy and there are some principles and laws that you have to show and expected from a victorious King. Unfortunately, Mahinda Rajapakse scored negative points and he completely ignored humanity and his actions are more than a war crime but criminal against humanity.
Secondly Mahinda was not a true human rights activist. He had a selfish purpose and motive to take the power. On the back door he supported JVP terrorism. His human rights activity was about the disappearance of Sinhalese during UNP rule. Now we know the true face of him. How can you call this man as a human right activist who ordered to kill his best friend Lasantha? His violations are not against LTTE but against the truth?
He is a selfish, He is a liar, He is an enemy of truth? He is an enemy of Buddha, He is an enemy of law and order?
